Avatar Size Limit

75 might be ok but even though some ptw avatars are 90, dont go over 75! One of the great things about this forum is the small, motionless avatars and imageless signitures.

:thanx: Can't wait :D

I completly agree.

The imageless sigs is something I'm very happy about. That kind of crap keeps me off other boards...and I've got broadband!

I agree. If the avatart size goes past 75, the page starts to look messy because some people use small and some big avatars. Now the size differences are very small.

Yes, I agree. The odd thing is that those that you don't need 300 posts to get can be up to 90 X 90 (look at the Chasquis Scout). I support raising them to 75, absolutely :).

But the PTW/C3C avatars aren't so wide. They're tall, but not as wide... Wide avatars are the ones that disrupt the page.

90x90 isn't too big...

Raising it to 70x70 is too small a raise, IMO. But I'd still take it. ;)

I agree. 70 x 70 is still enough to work with :)

Out of curiousity, when were custom avatars introduced?

BTW, I would appreciate the raising of the dimension limit on avatars.

They were introduced (guess, not sure exactly) about a year and a half ago.

I beleve it was the Summer of 2002 that they were introduced.

I'll throw in my support behind raising the dimension limit, but not the size limit. :)

65x65 is really too hard to work with...

Why don't you guys just stick with the civ avatars. (The Dutch Pimp Unit is a great avatar and I don't see why you would want to bother going past 300 posts when it is available at 10) I hope this place doesn't become the mess that gamecatcher is with avatars.

Or CDG, some people use big ones and some use small ones and some don't use at all. The page looks a bit messy when a big avatar is there...

What like Recons?

@XIII: 65x65 wasn't hard for me to work with. Course I've only had two custom avatars and am keeping the one I have now permently

65x65 is hard to work with. Often I get great shots that are just too small to recognize or have to be cropped excessively.

90x90, IMO, would be big enough to work with and small enough to keep the forum looking neat. Anything over would be too big, IMO...

Because some of us don't even play civ anymore.

The current civ avatars are at 90x90. I know they look narrower, but if you notice they're a bit more to the center, and take up just as much space as a 90x90 square of white. So actually, leaving the avatars at 65x65 makes the forum look more messy.
