AW Shucks

2 question i do not get:
why did you settle inland south south america and not crab gem city?
Why did you steal priesthood and not meditation?

for the rest, we are rocking :)

Well, for the first, there was a unhealthy ammount of barbs in the coastal areas ( all conveniently suicided on our units after that ), so I decided to play it safe. The second ... well, month adopted HR in the beginning of the set, so I wanted to have enough EP banked to steal it as soon as I can lay a spy on one of his cities. As priesthood is cheaper than mono ...

Ok, finally got to play the rest of the set. I've played a little above 10 turns, though ..

Highlights:

- Monty reduced to 1 city. He is whipping/chopping Jags like mad, but I want to steal some more techs of him ( namely Monarchy and Mono ). Some spies are waiting for the discounts there.

- There are two galleys with settlers navigating to S.America. There are already two settlers in there marching to place ( one in the north part and other in the south )

- The situation in the north of N.America needs some care. There are some stray jags added to barbs putting up some pressure there.

- I've teched to Paper and the overflow was put in Edu. Sankore is still to be built...

Thanks for the turns, we are going well.

Still do not understand why we did not get news from europe but let's enjoy life while we can :)
As long as we have no sign of lib race, we should go for it i guess. free religion is a good prize anyway for us :)

top priorities is to finish settling south america and steal monty :)

Paging Tachy! Paging Tachy! ;)

Got it. Out of curiosity, is there a reason to avoid CS for 17 turns?

I WILL play 10 turns. ;)

Halfway my turnset.
Goody goody tech - le me thinking like the AI!
Nationalism, right.

BTW, I partially bulbed Education and I launched a GA. Took a risk but the reward is there!
I know PP seems better, but I want that Taj!

And, of course, there is remaining GA turns to swap free religion, HR and either Bureaucracy or Freedom of Speech.

Spoiler :

Wow! Tachy continues to amaze and astound! :goodjob:

@Lymond: I'm quite honored that luck is part of my skills. ;) :mischief:

I have to say not much happened during that turnset except we got Lib for Nat.
Monty's cap is building Taj Mahal.
During that turnset, 3 GEngineers appeared elsewhere and those were nervous moments as the AI can beeline Nat if they want after Music.

2 spies are going to steal the remaining techs from Monty, then he's out.

Universities are going to be whipped soon, better get cash meanwhile.

No contacts yet. Yippey.
24 cities...moar....MOAR. We have enough place for >50 cities.
Now PP in, we go for Steel path. Perhaps, we might go Compass->Optics (whales) for Astro popping. Don't forget to get both Archery and HBR first, because the only remaining tech slot is going to be Astro.

I ended up with HR, Bureau and Free Religion.
Why Bureau? Because the number of towns is so small, that bureau bonuses offset the high cost. Come on, ~10-12 :gold: for a future Oxford Bureaucratic capital. Don't forget commerce multipliers are multiplying each others compared to hammers multiplier.
Bureaucracy wins as usual.

I find funny how the thread view count is one of the largest and replies count is also super high, yet I feel people is lacking enthusiasm here (including me I guess).
I mean compared to those threads with gigantic stories. Do I miss something?

It's been a little more quite around here of late. The Stories one seems to be a bit more youth oriented I suspect and seem to generally involve far less..um..veteran type gameplay. I perused it a bit, but don't get into it.

I think this particular SG hit a snag when a couple of players either could not play their TS or delayed it for quite some time. Then the SGOTM started as well which takes some time away.
Also, Pigs went all FFH bonkers. (I've been there...ha)

The SGs here are generally much more casual than the SGOTMs as far as post counts. However, we get some pretty good interest at times with Rolo and Cam SGs. Also, they tend to start out with a lot of chatter at the beginning and evolve into more of "your next..titter titter.. play.. your next" sort of deal as the empires get massive, basically running on overdrive.

I think this one is turning out very interesting and I suspect it will pick up. I know I'm interested. Thanks in large part to you, Tachy. I honestly thought this thing was unwinnable until you showed us the light. I still have concerns how we will soon defend such a massive coastline when the AIs start dropping stacks, but heck, we made it this far. ;)

I'll look at things more tomorrow. Election hangover

Aka got it. Will try to look at the save today, post a PPP and play tomorrow or friday.

Regarding the enthousiasm: I think that maybe we should shrink the roster a bit, and allow people who've lost enthousiasm to gracefully drop off? I am especially looking at pigswill and nocho as they were skipped and don't seem to be posting a lot. Are you guys still interested?

Dropping pigswill from his own SG sounds a bit harsh, dropping me less so. :p Truth is I do find the game interesting, but am rather low on civ time lately, which in turn is mainly dedicated to sgotm. With intercontinental warfare and managing 50 cities ( ) coming up, I'm fine to be dropped to lurker status.

My FFH itch is partly scratched and I've been getting back into RLC2 in S&T so I suspect it won't be long before I get all enthused and involved about this one (particularly when I started it!).

I'm not saying drop anybody, I'm just saying there seems to be a lack of enthousiasm so people who want to can leave the game with honour... Sorry if I offended anyone!

BTW just found out CIV is not installed yet on my computer (had forgot to reinstall) so am hunting around for the install disks...
