If you could have only one, and not the other on your face, which one would you pick. Pics are appreciated, though please use bearded ladies sparingly in the interest of preserving my stomach contents within my digestive cavity. :D

Depends on the mustache and beard.

I still don't know how he kept the ends pointed up, I suspect by sheer force of will.

Beard. You can keep that as a neat little goatee or something (I am doing right now, in fact) but a moustache by itself just makes you look like you've stumbled in from some archaic decade. That's ok if that's entirely the point, like the Gogol Bordello singer or something, but the rest of us just end up looking like Howard Moon...

I have had the opinion for some time that those who wear a beard without a mustache are either douchebags or Amish. (A goatee is not a beard.) So, to answer the OP, mustache.

That said, you would never see one without the other on my face.

A goatee is not a beard.
How so? It's hair on your chin, and that surely meets the criteria of "beard"? Or do you see "beard" as only referring to a full "sideburns + goatee", as it were?

People with mustaches should not be trusted. Fact.

Beards are cooler. Except not the pencil-thin douchebag beards.

I could do the amish thing and go beard with no mustache.

I think I might do that. I haven't taken greyhound in years and thus haven't seen any Amish* Do they shave to the jaw line?

*yes, seriously, take greyhound through PA / Ohio; tons of Amish

A beard is fuller than a goatee for the purposes of that particular conversation.

I'm seldomly seen without a goatee but if I had to choose between the two I'd go with a stash.
