Beta Testers Needed!

It's got to be an installer issue. They show up fine on my computer.

*groan*

I guess I have to re-download RoM 2.8beta and your 1.4beta5 and install all over again. Hopefully, that solves that problem.

No, no I meant my installer probably has issues. It's probably on my end. Although, I am surprised that you're the first to complain... Lots of people have used beta5 by now.

Don't worry :).

I understood what you meant. I groaned because I decided to set this task before myself on my own imitative but it was not fun :). I just wanted to confirm that it was not just my modding that messed it up somewhat. I reinstalled everything fresh (2.8beta and your 1.4beta5). The problem persists.

So I am assuming it was installer problem possibly.

Loading up my copy of beta5 as we speak. Where are you seeing that font glitch, in the city screen? I don't seem to have that issue... Are you sure it isn't a localized problem? With 39 downloads, I think someone else would have reported such a glaring bug. (Of course, that resource bug with my Vicinity modmod lasted for weeks before someone noticed...)

As I said, I reinstalled fresh. The new city that I settled in the new game showed the same thing, weird icons.

If you meant is it restricted to city screen only, then I don't know because I don't check other locations for these icons because city screen is the most helpful and practical for me to check that out for my strategy of building buildings and o on.

Any other modmod's installed? I'm not sure why any would cause an issue, but you never know...

All minus Military, Ideology, Civics Flavors, War Prizes, Seafaring

Vincentz modmos minus Corporations and Guilds

My two minimodsmods (No Chop Without Purpose and IdleCities)

ANM

Zappara's Extra Leaders

One extra Civ: Denmark with Margrete as its leader

My personal experimental modmods:
3 City Range
Research set to 100 in all worldsizes
Events disabled (Herbal, Slave Revoluts, and Trade Caravans)
Units disabled: flamethrower, BTR 80, both dog units

I'm having trouble loading either this 1.4beta5 or the 1.351, both give me an error while loading:

info type jADER_BARBARIAN not found, Current XML file is: xml\GameInfo/CIV4ForceControlInfos.xml

it seems to work fine with just the 2.8 beta installed. I have win7rc and the mod is installed under my documents, since it doesn't see it under program files. I'm new at this, so am I doing something wrong?

Make sure that you are not installing it over an older version of my modmod's. You need a fresh copy of 2.8beta; as This sounds like that's what you're doing.

I'm pretty sure I had things clean, but I've just cleared my C:\Users\Winthrowe\Documents\My Games\beyond the sword\MODS directory, rerun the 2.8beta installer, rerun your 1.4beta5 installer, and get:
info type jADER_BARBARIAN not found, Current XML file is: xml\GameInfo/CIV4ForceControlInfos.xml

also lots of

info type NONE not found, Current XML file is: ...
for several files.

I have the steam version of civ4 complete if that matters.

That isn't the location Mods should be installed in, but for steam mods, I think they need to be installed to "C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\sid meier's civilization iv beyond the sword\Beyond the Sword\Mods\Rise of Mankind" But that could depend on where you installed steam...

My Games\beyond the sword\MODS is not the place for Civ4 mods, I don't know why Firaxis made 2 folders, but that's the wrong one.

For those who care:
That error means that Civ4 isn't loading my modules.

Two things: 1)
Afforess, I was wondering, does your .dll include the fix for the multiple National Wonders bug as discussed in this thread?

If it does, then cool beans. If not, could you please include it? It seems very easy to do so.

And 2)
2.8beta includes the new building ConstructSounds, such as Park, PoliceStation, etc. If you were to make use of them, instead of using the Granary build sound over and over, it would enhance the quality of your modmod. :)

(The new Park build sound would sound great for the Beautification Project, and also could work for the Zoo & Petting Zoo. For the Aquarium, methinks the Aqueduct sound would be better than Granary...
The Police Station sound would sound perfect for the Fire Station, although I am not sure which sound is best for the Fire Brigade...
For the Weather Station and National Weather service, sounds such as Press Agency or Intelligence Agency seem appropriate.)

That was my key issue. was puzzling that plain RoM worked from that wrong directory, though. now on turn 2 it seems to just be an issue with the religion advisor not scrolling, but I think I read somewhere that that was known issue, and the revolution watch seems to tell me everything except revolution status (oh, I see, it's customizable. nevermind).

Glad to hear everything is going great. I think that the wrong MODS folder will load mods fine, but it was never made for Modular loading, so it fails their, which, is what 75% of my modmod's use.

Any progress on weird icons on my game bug?

Or should we just wait for official RevDCM release and thus official 2.8 release to see how it goes?

A couple of us had this problem with the Early Buildings mod v1.1. Removing that mod fixed the problem but I don't know why it caused the problem.

I noticed an odd kind of bug: When I build a bazaar, when are 5-7turns left it gives me the message " city can't continue building bazaar" as if it lost access to the resource. But in the building list I can select bazaar and then it continues.

It happened in 2-3 cities already and while is not a major thing, it is a bit annoying. This is my first game with this mod so I'm guessing the mod has the bug.

I've installed only Military Civics and Civics Flavour (IIRC) , the game is a monarch play now map.

It means you have a problem with windows, ntdll is a windows system file.

not sure if this is zaps fault or yours. all infantry units attacking cities get siege towers as well. they dont actually help...they are just there. but it looks really silly when you have modern infantry attacking with seige tower help.
