Beta Testers Needed!

I've installed above beta4, it deisntalled and installed back properly. But I have TXT_KEY_VICTORY_SCIENTIFIC as an option in Custom Game setup screen. In beta4 it was ok.

P.S. Lots of TXT_KEY_*** in techtree. It looks like your installer is not working properly via installing over a clean beta4 for me. I am going to try a clean installation now.

A clean installation should be fine. It has to do with some issues with newer text files in 2.8 and the uninstaller deciding to uninstall nessecary files...
 
Yes, a clean installation is working, sorry for bothering you :).
No no. It just alerts me to other problems. All my uninstaller/installer issues should be worked out by the official 2.8.

I notice when I fight barbarian ships, I occassionally get a real! alive human slave on the ocean tile! So will removing Jooyo's Slave modmod and replacing it with War Prizes give BOTH! capturing ships and capturing human slaves?

Dang. A slave on the ocean? I never use enslavement, but that's strange. I imagine that's due to the way it's been coded... Solution: Don't play with enslavement.

Fix: Whenever I remove Jooyo's enslavement modmod. It's rather low on my priorities, but strategyonly has a nice enslavement modcomp I could stea...use.

And :lol: about stea...use thing :lol:. That would be cool whenever you get time for it. I see you everywhere in the forums :). So no rush. Let's concentrate on getting RevDCM 2.6 base bug free (as near as possible) before we move on to new stuff :). I can wait.

any info on my crash problem cause it seems to happen a lot since 3.19 and if it dosnt crash it does the ai loop.

Nope. I can not debug anything. Blame RevDCM folks, not me. Hopefully, they'll have their problems fixed soon.
 
:( why am i civ4 cursed? damn patch 3.19 to hell!!! i had no issues but MAF then...now id love to get a game that lasts long enough to have a MAF problem. if i restart what do you think the probabilities of another recurring crash happening are? is it a common issue or is it my bad luck?

Oh no, it isn't your bad luck. In fact, generally speaking, the more crashes you find, the more of them I can fix and avoid in the future, so in a way, they are a good thing.

The probabilities of that crash happening? IDK, I've hit some CTD's in some AIAutoPlay games too, so pretty high. Why don't you check out another Mod while your waiting? Dom Pedro's mod is cool, and so is White Lies, Black Ops. (Heresy, I know, to suggest another mod on the RoM forums...)

No, I found another CTD myself that I couldn't debug either. I have no idea why it has crashed. See, long story short, the latest RevDCM screwed up the process of making debug DLL's, so I can't test out your save and see what went wrong... That's how I fixed an earlier CTD.
 
man. the more i hear about the RevDCM team the ore i dont like them lol. RoM before RevDCM was 30000% more stable.

It really isn't their fault either I suppose. And if it wasn't for RevDCM, I wouldn't be [modmoding] here. Stability isn't everything. If it's stability you're after, play Vanilla.

The problem is convoluted, and only makes much sense if you are familiar with C++ coding, but it's the result of merging the BUG/BULL mod into RevDCM. They are working on it, and I expect to have debug abilities back soon.

AMEN to that! If not for RevDCM, I strongly doubt I would be playing RoM because DCM part of RevDCM is a must for me (ranged bombardment plus attack support, naval bombardment and fighter missions).
 
you can manually edit in those features by playing with the mod files. i attempted to play a rom mod mod that removed RevDCM and bug mod so i went in and re-added the ability of artillery and ships to cause collateral damaged ect. then the civ4 gods saw i was having fun and gave me a persistent crash.
i started a new custom game as germany, huge map, 22 AI same setup as the last game but no Revolutions. im going to see how long it lets me play it. then ill post the save game for future reference.
 
Just got this CTD from 1.4beta5.

Early game have not met any AI but have had Barb Ilaryian(sp) Pirates Event and started to attack a barb city recently formed. Spearman healing in forest 2 tiles from Barb city. Was attacked and defended it's position successfully on prior turn.

All logs attached.

Found a bug.

Go here and start at post 1908, then read down from there. Then tell me if you have any ideas?
