Beta Testers Needed!

Procedures and Guidelines for Beta Builds:
  • Please remember that you are beta testing, this is in no way representative of the final product, nor all the features.
  • I highly discourage installing other modmod's with my beta's, or modifying core RoM files. If you do so, I will ignore any bug reports from you.
  • When reporting bugs, please list the components that you installed, which RoM version you are using (Full, Mega or Lite), and specifically what errors you are having. Posting a screenshot and/or save are both recommended too.
Read the OP before posting a save. ;)
 
You probably may want to at least tell us what your issues are for posting logs. They don't do us much good if you don't tell us what the bugs or problems are.

Afforess, I may not have done any coding in some time, but I am excellent at finding errors in it. If I find issues, I'll let you know so you don't have to look for it to expedite your coding times.

I'm also curious as to where the civ customizer went. I've heard about it but never got the chance to use it. If possible, what would it entail to revive it. I always try to create a custom civ anyways.
 
@Afforess, I have been looking for documentation on the tags you have added, but I don't seem to be able to find it. I am working on those production buildings I mentioned. I have worked out the vicinity bonus tags but cant remember where (or if) you put the building effects revolution status tags. (I know I should be finishing converting AAranda's religions and getting your code to compile but working on only one thing is a boor. Or is that bore or boar?)

I'm pretty sure its bore. "Boar" is the a warthog/feral pig creature thing, and "boor" is an ill-mannered or unrefined person. Aside from that, I know how it is with working exclusively on one project. More likely than not, you find it boring when you hit a block of sorts. It does help when you do something else and then come back to it later.
 
TechX, I've been PM'ing him the info from vs2008, but I can't attach files to a PM so I gotta post them in a public thread... figured here was the best spot. SOP to add the logs, even tho they never seem to indicate anything to me (I can't code tho, so that doesn't mean much).

Edit: You're also correct on "bore."

Edit2: All the logs are from CTDs that don't throw asserts (only kind I seem to get).

I'd ask you to upload everything from your log folder but there are too many 10mb+ files and a huge .8Gb one. It would help me a ton if you could get me those files. My only issue is that my net speed hits 150Kbs tops :mad:
 
I might be able to arrange that... after Turkey Day I can zip them and up them somewhere, or even torrent it :lol: Gotta pack, then get some sleep before the drive :/

Afforess might even have the next beta out by then, fixing a couple of the CTDs!

I have all the tags in 1.41 listed in my main thread, 4th post down. However, you're right, I haven't added the RevolutionIndex for buildings yet. I almost forgot. I'll add it in this afternoon.

When I release 1.5, I'll update the documentation again, I just don't update it for beta's, because, they're betas. ;)


Expect a new beta Wend. I will be taking a few days off modding after Wend, to celebrate Thanksgiving and be with my Family.
 
So. Reading the rules it says no other mods. Does that include the megapack? Or are you building this with that installed. Also, regarding megapack... I had trouble with it without this beta. Kept turning the world black. Any idea? I'm the only dude in the world that has problems with the RoM megapack, apparently. There is a country in that mod I love playing with, and I'm hoping I'll get to continue. However... Your modpacks are more important to me, lol. So please let me know what's up. I come home soon! I hope when I do I can take up a more active role helping you guys build on this thing.
 
The megapack is fine.

Afforess, main post doesn't show it but right of passage doesn't allow missionaries to enter territory.

No, you are NOT stuck.
If you aren't intimidated by XML work,
just go into Modules/Afforess and open with either Notepad or Notepad++ MLF file and change the bLoad of the folder from 1 to 0. That will turn off that folder until such a time when you want to play with it again later.

I had the same problem -- Afforess advised me to delete out about half the civs in the custom civ folder -- worked like a charm. Basically, even with x64 win 7 and 4gb RAM, the game still had trouble loading all those civs, and it was causing some weird graphics (like the world being black).

Would definitely love it if beta3 released sooner (so I can play all day Wednesday while prepping/cooking for T-day), but am excited to get beta 3 whenever you can push it out. Thanks! :D
