That actually might be a good way to stock up on Venetian troops.

UU: Renaissance Man: Replaces Great People during the Renaissance era except Great General and Great Admiral. Only available during the Renaissance era. Can do anything a normal great person can do except for the Great General and Admiral.

Posted it after they got leaked on that Polish forum.
IF the info is good, Venice won't be as easy to roll as people think. No gold from rivers or coast tiles mean you likely won't have as big an army as you're used to early on. I hope that this is one measure they have introduced to reduce the "carpet of doom" With trade routes providing a significant proportion of your income, Venice (at least in theory) should be able to afford a bigger army then your own.

Well, according to that and my understanding, the Axeman barb, is for the barbs only, not the Shoshone, I just wish it was the Comanche rather than the Shoshone, but they are close enough I guess.
Yea that would be cool.
I think i like the new mechanic, sugested something similar myself. It represents nicely the history of Venice imo.

I was a serene Venetian hater, when I first saw this stuff, but hey they might be cool. That double trade route stuff, to me, kinda puts an emphasis on how heavy trade routes are going to affect the game now..............For them to give a civ a UA that grants double TR, to counterbalance such a strong attribute they had to make them not be able to found cities..........now that's massive

I'm wondering if they'll still bother to go through with the silhouette icons or whatever teaser gimmick they might have been planning for the official release.

This thread was taken down. Then put back up. Which caused further speculation as to the accuracy of the "leaked" info. The consensus now is that the info isn't real and that in actual fact the two remaining civs are Israel and the Borg.

It's also possible that the "leaked" info wasn't actually true to begin with, which is why this thread was restored.
But then again we don't know.
Venice feels really bad (thematically). A lot of the suggestions in the Italian thread are better done, so I hope this is fake.
