[Beyond the Sword] History In The Making

Are there different instructions for civ modules other than the civ gold ones? I've been trying to add DWOLF's Nazi Germany mod but I keep getting errors.:(

Yes, it Modules won't directly port to HiTM. The reason is because I modify the XML files so much. So, the only modules that will work with HiTM are ones that I work on exclusively.

You can, however, get modules to work with HiTM no problem... all you need is WinMerge. Then, what you need to do is do a file compare against the Module's files and HiTM and adjust accordingly. You just need to use sound common sense when doing this, because sometimes HiTM modifications will take precedence and the mods will take precedence.

Hope that helps.

Hi, when this mod is being loaded I get several messages about xml errors. See one in the file.
Can it be solved?

Also when I tried to choose civs some of them were shown incorrectly.
And when I tried to play the game crashed to the desktop after I finished the 1st turn.

Looks like you have a Spanish language installation. HiTM only works with English installations Im afraid..

EDIT: On 2nd look, is "varietas delectat" a seperate module? If so then the installation of HiTM isn't in the correct path..(varietas delectat is latin isn't it not Spanish )

Hello Grave!

Thank you for this great mod!!! :goodjob::goodjob::goodjob::goodjob:

The only thing I still miss in it, and imo keeps it from the crown of all Civ mods is: the Revolution mod feature.

Sorry bout that, I know this has been asked before, and there are reasons why it is not included yet... but will it ever be possible to include it? (I would do this on my own, but I just can´t mod) :crazyeye:

regards

the mod is installed here: D:\games\Civ IV\Beyond the Sword\Mods\HISTORY IN THE MAKING

and I have English version of Civ.
all other mods work fine

Did you remember to do it to the file in the MODULES folder?

\Skodkim

Sorry Skodkim, yesterday I'd been working on the TechTree so I didn't check.
But IIRC I did the civs in the MODULES folder too. This civics bug is causing me a headache for months now !

EDIT: You were right. Forgot to add the initial civics in the MODULES folder! :hammer2:
Issue solved, thanks!

You'll need to tweak Civ Gold and Varietas Delectat in order to run it as a Module with HiTM. There are probably XML conflicts with the module and HiTM, which is why you're getting errors.

And can you explain me what to do? I'm slightly confused..

Take a look at the FAQ, the answer is in there. It's this one in particular:

Q: How do I correctly install and play other modular Civilizations?
A: The only modification I see you needing to do in order to let other modular Civilizations work (Civ Gold, etc) is to replace their Schema files with ones copied out of the HiTM directories You also need to point the modular Civ's XML files to those new Schema files instead of the original ones supplied with the modular Civ. See this post and this post for further details.

Thanks! I deleted all the files in the Civ Gold modules folder and replaced them with the files from the mod - everything seems to be fine now.

But I don't understand do I have to change which Schema the files point to from the Civ Gold ones to HiTM? In case I have to please explain which files (I don't understand it from the FAQ).

Thank you again.

By the way - previous versions of the mod worked ok without any changes. I liked this mod very much. So that's why I'd like to play it now:goodjob:

Grave,

I'm very pleased that you are back with this Mod, it is high quality to be sure. I played a quick game last night...I played with the Movie fix. No problems, I enjoyed the game immensely.

The only thing I noticed is that I didn't get the same opening screen as you have posted on Page one of this thread.

simply install into the "/mods" folder of BtS, no need for /mods/History in the making

another bug:

my units disappear! i startet attacking an enemy town (once again with the germans/bismarck) and after winning a combat my macemen disappeared in the lower unitbar - so i couldnt reselect them. when targeting all units on the same tile they reappered on the map (maceman were part of the graphic were all units appear) but not on the bar. options like wait until healing etc. were still available. seems to be an error of the display. at the same time, the catapults in the same tile did not react on further city bombardement commands as long as the invisible macemen accompanied them
that happened to all macemen that attacked&won but not to the light cavalry that did the same

azzedar

No need indeed as long as you point your Civ ini-file to that directory instead of Mods\History in the Making.

EDIT:The civilopedia entry for Masonry doesn't mention that it unveils Marble.
