[Beyond the Sword] History In The Making

Hi Grave, why you remove Advanced Fighter and Strike Fighter? That was great units!

Advanced Fighter is still in there.

You mean Air Superiority Fighter and Advanced Fighter? I got rid of them and went back to the standard Jet Fighter because I felt I was splitting hairs by making two different air units that were so similiar. So I went back to a single unit that could do both.

Heh, that's a contradictory ;).

Sorry, I meant Air Superiority fighter and Strike Fighter. They got merged back into a single unit: the Jet Fighter. I figure the Promotions can determine if the jet becomes air superiority or a strike fighter.

No one knows why I cannot get this running even though I followed the install directions?

Hard to say, really.

Can you post a screenshot of your directory tree in Windows Explorer and then a screenshot of your mod selection menu in BtS?

If I knew how to do that, I would. It is installed here:
C:\Program Files\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Beyond the Sword\Mods\HISTORY IN THE MAKING
It does not appear in the mod list.
Thanks!:goodjob:

Anyone konw how to get Blue Marble workin with the latest version of HitM?

I've tried suggestions i've read here and yet I still have a crazy red theme that I dont like.

I basically used to install HitM and install Blue Marble V3.00 over it and that worked. Now I can't get it to happen. I don;t want the latest version of Blue Marble (Gold) installed cos it looks a bit mad....old v3.00 Blue Marble is what I want.

Anyone know how to get it workin with the latest version of HitM?

Hopefully the bug I had will be fixed in the next version, where the mod crashed to desktop as soon as I got a Great Prophet and went to use him for a Golden Age...

Clueless newbie here but exactly where do I put these various DDS files?

In folder "HISTORY IN THE MAKING\Assets\Art":

1. Create folder "Interface"
2. Create folder "Buttons"
3. Create folder "Leaderheads"
4. Put all DDS-files in "Leaderheads"

Thus here: HISTORY IN THE MAKING\Assets\Art\Interface\Buttons\Leaderheads

That should do the trick :)

EDIT: fixed path, thanks Lord Gek

Thanks for getting me 90% there...but I quickly found a missing bit in your path! The correct path is:

HISTORY IN THE MAKING\Assets\Art\Interface\Buttons\Leaderheads

Using this modified path it works like magic (confirmed it with the Foreign Adviser).

Snazzy stuff there and thanks for all of the help!

This is one of my favorite mods. I'm Hirohito/Japan playing Oddyessy/Archipelago on Noble difficulty. My number 1 enemy is the Celts, whom has the English and Portugal as vassals. I have the Koreans and Byzantinites (?) as vassals, but the Bryzanitinites are weak with only two cities on a single island, and most of their army was gift soldiers I gave them so they could easily defend themselves.

I don't have any problems with the mod at all, and the lag is bearable playing on a huge map, and just now hitting the modern age. Hopefully, the United Nations will help out with the constant wars taht have sprung up, because Brennus is out of control.

Actually, one of the problems I have is the civs that adopted Theocracy right off the bat (because I started in Reassiassnace I think), despite having no religion. Korea was either neutral or cool with all the nations on the planet, and they grew all over the map, taking a lot of islands until I took his main island and he became my vassal.

Another problem is the noticable large gap between naval units. The jump from ship of the line to Destroyers is devasting to a guy who is one or two techs behind (like I was). What's worst is that this is a dominatly naval map, so Brennus was ummatched in the sea wherever he was, but I beat him in the land battle because I had the assembly line and he was still using riflemen.

Korea was all over the place unit wise, they were using longbowmen, riflemen, and infantry. lol.

I rate this mod 5/5, becasue its awesome. Also, I've learned that State Property gives me more money back than Free Market once I've created a large empire.:goodjob:

Just to clarify:

I have the mod installed to
C:\Program Files\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Beyond the Sword\Mods\HISTORY IN THE MAKING
and not to
C:\Documents and Settings\Owner.xxxxxxxx\My Documents\My Games\Beyond the Sword\MODS

When I start up BTS and go the Load A Mod screen, the only mods that appear are the other mods I use, the ones installed to the second address given above.
I have searched nearly every page of this thread for help. Just from reading, this mod sounds great. Any help would be great.
Thanks!

Could someone please load this game save and tell me why I CTD?

Since updating to 3.17 and 2.02 HiTM I have repeated CTD's - sometimes I can get past the crashing turn by randomly declaring war against an oppenent. This is about the fourth game with the same symptoms.

Any help much appreciated.
