Well, sort of... He was talking about the networks and said Fox is a conserva..... Fox gives voice to conservatives. He was about to say Fox is a conservative network but caught himself before chewing into that foot in his mouth.

I'm sure it'll be on youtube but I dont know how to link stuff like that, but my problem is he really believes it. He thinks Fox is conservative, I think its Republican. What say you ?

Is Fox News conservative or Republican? We know its both, but where is its true loyalty?

Fox and the Republicans are on the far right of what can be labeled conservative. So unless you want to invoke Godwin, Fox and the Republicans are the same thing.

I see big differences, illegal immigrants is a good example. The economic conservatives and much of the GOP oppose it ;);) but dont do much while the conservative base is much more inclined to shutting the border down, even with troops. Fox tends to stay away from abortion, but its one of the big conservative causes. O'Reilly's right about Fox giving voice to conservatives but they also canned Matt Drudge because he showed an aborted fetus.

There are a few issues some conservatives and some Republicans both have divided opinions on. Not many though. Fox has to split the difference.

I don't think Fox is in line with the whole of the Republican party so much as it is in line with the right wing of the GOP.

It's Murdochian?

Well, at this point conservativism and the Republican Party are now on in the same, so it's a moot point.

But I would say Republican. The CEO of Fox News was a Republican operator for many years, and it operates a propaganda arm for the party in any case. If the Republican party did something "unconservative" (for whatever reason) they would arm twist it so that it became "conservative".

Social conservatism and economic conservatism are not quite the same thing though. So every now and then they come into conflict. Immigration is one of those issues. Economic conservatives tend to be more pro immigration, social conservatives tend to oppose.

You mean like this?

Or this?

How much more pandering to the fundamentalist Christians do you think they could possibly do?

Fox News is the voice of conservatism and the GOP in this country. They are now one and the same, and they have been for quite some time now. The Republicans / conservatives can't even stand RINOs anymore. They are apparently "liberal Marxist fascist socialists" just like the rest of us.

Of course Fox is conservative. It's the centerpiece of the Republican Propaganda Machine.

It most certainly gives a voice to the conservative view point, since it is rare to see that in other news channels and on the main news program in America. I see nothing wrong with that. But of course since most of you are so far to the left that if anyone is given a view that is conservative, it is automatically viewed as being the Republican views, when not everyone who is a conservative agrees with what the Republicans are doing.

what does the word "tends" mean to you? It doesn't mean Fox never talks about abortion. Strawmen make me

I'd say Fox represents both. They represent a conservative spin on news. However, since Republican ideology tends to coincide with Conservative ideology, it represents both.

aren't you in australia, or something?

i do think it's funny too how conservatives yell about the "liberal bias" (wanna know a possible reason? to be a journalist, you have an education) but instead of asking for a voice that's unbiased, they ask for one with a conservative one, or excuse the most flaming example of a conservative bias out there, because "everything else is that "librul agenda"

Well everyone seems to view the opinion shows as being news and it is those segments that ar most definitely leaning to the right compared to the other channels. You have to be kidding yourself to think that any news comes without a bias to it, since the types of new reports that are presented. Ther is no such thing as unbiased news.
