BirdNES 3: When Worlds Collide

Abaddon said:
Isn't this the era of nations being truly transformed by the explosive growth?

Not really... explosive being <1%.

I'm quite shocked trade between CJP is only nominally larger than the deserted East Coast of Africa!!!?!?

And why wouldn't it be? The East coast of Africa is hardly deserted at this stage of history.

Historically Spanish silver from the New World led to incredible inflation.

No it didn't! :D

Its deserted compared to the coast of China!

Masada: Power and Plenty ( i know, its a limited source) would argue that major inflation was caused by silver imports to europe and contributed to the fall of the Ottoman economy.

I would have thought that is was common sense that increasing the supply of silver substantially would lead to inflation. Why not, Masada?

That may have happened in Europe, but the rest of the world would be pretty isolated no?

Masada: Power and Plenty ( i know, its a limited source) would argue that major inflation was caused by silver imports to europe and contributed to the fall of the Ottoman economy.

It also states that the Ottoman economy had many other factors to it's fall, like you know, circumventing their monopoly on the spice trade.

No it didn't! :D

OOC: A significant portion New World silver ended up being traded for luxury goods from East Asia? Used to finance/re-finance Dutch/Italian loans to the Empire which were subsequently used to invest in various industries in Northwestern Europe?

Not* when I get down there... so shalt the African Crusades begin.
*I'll be willing to sell 'colonists' though, as long as they're treated better than the slaves were originally, because I'm a religious order.

PS. If anyone has plans there or wants to kill-steal my plans, then please PM me if you're ok working together or at least warning me off if you're much bigger or closer.

Whoa whoa whoa, let's not get ahead of ourselves here; not that I see the Teutonic Order making it down to my neck of the desert anyway.:p And by the way, I think Birdjaguar meant to put east coast of Africa.

Yes but wasn't China very limited external trade?

I thought they were mostly internal.

That was significantly changed 25 years ago. I would hope the effects have been dramatic. The laws that crippled Chinas coast IRL do not exist in this NES.

I'm developing caravels for this purpose ^^...

oh and Prinny, I'm always happy to resupply a crusader if you want to put your efforts to gain in areas close to the Tyrrhenian Sea/the Western Mediterranean.

I'll get right to it. BJ, can I invest double in one round (and if so may I still change my orders)?
Or are you further off than that?

Maybe I should just get working on Italian unification if I am way behind in trading. J/K France/Austria! Lol, not. Or was I, It's sort of semi-OOC anyways.

LMAO, you know nothing of China. I hope BJ gives you a traditionalist rebellion.

I did not revoke the laws, the previous player did.

I openly admit I know next to nothing about China.. I have said so several times.

I think anyone suitable to launch such a rebellion will have been purged long ago

OOC: Lol, I just realized something. Hehesceptercomhehe.

My personal tips is that for corruption, just catch them and put them in stocks and tell everyone that those people are responsible for higher taxes, and watch as he/she dies miserable.
