BNH02- Thats one small step....

Got it, will play tomorrow.

I vote for SJ's plan. If it looks like a bust we can always go back to hack and slash.

:ar15: :hammer: :sniper: :ninja:

what would you guys like first, 01/02?

What do you mean :confused: The current BNH succession games, or the ideas for the next set of SG games?

About the current games: 02 is going to be a very interesting game. I'm hoping that 01 doesn't get too tedious by the end. I'm spending most of my single civ time on my AWE game. In that game, I own my continent on a standard size map, and the turns are taking a long time, so I'm not really looking forward to owning the continent in 01. :mischief:

Regarding the next SG: when will the next SGOTM start? I'm looking forward to it.

This is also my Got It. I'll try to get it done tonight. It will be some interesting turns. We'll come out of Anarchy, and we'll be attacking Germany as soon as that happens.

We are the proud owners of the Oracle of New York!

Turn -1 30 AD
- We're in 3 more turns of Anarchy
- Our trade route is going through Germany, so the war will have to wait until after the harbor is finished.
- Boston was whipped?

Turn 0 50 AD
- Worker choping near Philadelphia reveals a BG :)
- Something happend, we're down to -15 gpt.

Turn 1 70 AD
- last turn of anarchy

IBT: Elite Chinese sword attacks Berlin and loses.

Turn 2 90 AD
- Republic! After setting all citizens back to work, we are at 9/0/1 and making 0gpt. Now that's a sad economy!
- We're paying 70gpt in unit support. I send some of our reg warriors towards Atlanta to hurry the harbor.
- Marketplaces are ordered up every where.
- Chicago is MM'ed to 10spt and horse every 3 turns. That's our only military producer.
- Boston starts the FP.

Turn 3 110 AD
- Chopping forrest near Houston uncovers another BG.
- Disband 3 reg warriors in Atlanta for 1 turn of the harbor.
- We're back to +7 gpt.

IBT: Russians start Leo's

Turn 4 130 AD
- Disband one more conscript warrior in Atlanta.

IBT: French starts Sistines.
- Chinese Sword attacks Berlin and wins.

Turn 5 150 AD
- The payment to Joanie is up. We're back to 28 gpt.
- Chicago: horse->horse.

Turn 6 170 AD
- Harbor due in 1. 30gpt.

Turn 7 190 AD
- Atlanta: Harbor->catapult
- Declare war! Our force of 7 swords, 2 spears, 7 catapults and 1 horse move on Berlin.

Turn 8 210 AD
- Chicago: horse->horse.
- Berlin is down to size 6. Thank You!
- Lose exploring curragh in ocean.

IBT: 2 German spears move out of Berlin. :crazyeye: You have an interesting way of defending your capital, Otto.

Turn 9 230 AD
- Buffalo: harbor->marketplace
- Cats fire: hit 5 of out 7, there are at least 4 defenders in Berlin.
- Horse goes first, red-lines but beat reg spear.
- Swords go 3 for 3, killing all defender, and we have Berlin. It is renamed to New York. :)

IBT: Germans land a single archer near Philadelphia, the two Berlin spears approach Denver, and an archer comes out of Konigsberg.

Turn 10 250 AD
- Washington: marketplace->barrack, and MM to complete the barrack in 3 with max food
- Houston: marketplace->aquaduct.
- Between the marketplaces and the growth, we're up to 68gpt.
- A horse attacks the archer near Phili and loses :( , a warrior cleans up the mess.
- Near Denver, a cat hits one of the spears for 1 HP. Other troops occupy the working tiles to prevent pillaging.
- A sword loses two HPs while dispatching the Konigsberg archer, the rest of the troops move on to Konigsberg, leaving a vet spear and the injured units guarding New York.

NOTES:

Workers:
- the 2 northern workers are on their way to connect New York.
- the 2 workers between Chicago and Washington should irrigate the river-grassland tile NW-NW of them, that's the tile that Chicago should use with its 7th citizen.
- the 2 workers N-NE of Buffalo should chop the forrest and irrigate the tile (eventualy). In this case, irrigating the tile provides the same shield output because the extra food allows a citizen to work the forrest tiles, and irrigation provides more options for MM, as well as a better food break point for growth (+4 food vs. +3 food).
- the worker that's irrigating NW-NW of Buffalo should road the tile that it's on, then chop the forrest tiles around Houston and irrigate those as well. In general, it is better to have a variety of tile for a city for MM purposes. With 2 irrigated grasslands, mined grasslands and mined hills, Houston can be configured to +0, +1, +2, +3 or +4 food per turn with various amount of shield output.
- Near St. Louis. Do the road net first, worry about mining later.

Settler:
- we need to find another city to provide settlers. For the sake of our economy, let's keep Washington and Boston as large as possible. With 10% lux, Washington is happy at size 8.
- Seattle can provide one settler before building its aquaduct.
- Denver can build settlers after its courthouse finishes.
- A more radical idea is to build settlers out of San Francisco, and eventually disband that city by building settlers.

Home-land Defense:
- I think mobile patrol is the way to go, especially on the St. Louis Island.
- There is no point in building military on that island right now. They serve neither MP nor defensive purposes (if the AI sneak attacks, a single reg warrior isn't going to do much, in fact, I'm in favor of just abandon the city if an AI sneak attacks). Lets finish the road net on the island asap and ship 3-4 horses over.

Trade:
- I think there is a 3-fer out there: buying Monotheism from France, sell it to Korea for Engineering and to China for Feudalism.
- Another option: Germany has a distant city on an island, so I don't think we can finish him off in this war. They know Engineering, so we could extort it from them by the end of the war.

Misc:
- The ferry boat is docked in Washington :)

I have six more long turns left in GGF4 and will get to this afterwards.

hmmm... i seemed to be misplaced here, or confused. Wasnt I up? I had just finished with some similar results, but SJ's are better. :goodjob: O well, whats done is done. I guess ill skip and come back.

I didnt post because, I just finished! :lol:

Had family get together+school. Will play 01 now

Actually, Big, you're up in this one, right now. The roster order was:

BigNHuge - Up in this as-well-as BNH01
Rik Meleet - On deck
jb1964 - taking a nice break
SJ Frank - Just played

... I just cut and pasted from JB's post from last page, the only thing that had to be changed was Rik's comment that he can only get it on Sunday. Funny how the feast/famine thing works -- you're always up in all of your SGs at the same time.

yeah its wierd. well. im gonna ask jb for a switch here. He go now, i go after. If its alright. Got alot of homework tonight.

I'll take the switch. Not a problem. Just have someone poke me w/ a stick :hammer: when it's my turn next.

Danke.

Please skip me. I have too much on my plate right now and am up in BHN01 which is going to be taxing as it is.

IHT:
Trade possibilities !!
Buy Monotheism from France for 51 gpt + 1 gold. Then Sell Monotheism to Korea for Engineering + 3 gpt + 8 gold. Sell Engineering + Monotheism to China for Feudalism + 14 gold. Sell Monotheism to India for Monarchy + 11 gold.
We are scientific equals to China, Korea, Japan.
France is (at least) up Theology + Chivalry.
India is down Feud + Eng.
Russia is (at least) up Chivlary + Invention.

Our Iron + Gems deal for Dyes + silks with Russia ends in 5 turns. Opportunity again then.

IBT: Chinese do some fighting, Germans some retreating.

[1] 260 AD - Germans talk. They are down Monotheism and are only willing to give up Munich. Not yet.
I've found a hole in the cultural borders in the other continent. It's marsh. So I don't land, exploring onwards.

IBT: We quell 1 resistor in NY.

[2] 270 AD - Battle for Konigsberg. 6 cats hit 5 times. 2 horses kill 2 spears. 4 Swords kill 4 spears. We capture Konigsberg with 9 workers.
Make peace with Germany for Frankfurt + Munich + 1 gold. China will kill of Germany soon.

Switch some wartime builds (rax, horsies) to peacetime (temple, market).
Some cities on our island have grown, thus more entertainers / taxmen / scientists needed.
Switch Denver to settler; I expect Leipzig to be conquered quickly, leaving an area open for settlers.

IBT: Resistance in New York ends, Russians start Sistine's.

[3] 280 AD - Moving nearly all military -for the moment- towards New York. Heavy MM-ing of Miami to keep it happy, not starving and produce market in 1.
Frankfurt is under cultural pressure from Yakutsk. Rushing temple for 236 gold. This might be bad, but I'm not giving up a city which is so close to silks.

IBT: Indians start Sun Tzu.
Philly market -> settler
Frankfurt temple -> court
Miami market -> aqua

[4] 290 AD - There are German troops in our lands. I don't demand, but I might when our troops are healed.

IBT: Japan asks our galley to leave. Just passing.
Wash temple -> rax
Seattle temple -> aqua
Denver settler -> court

[5] 300 AD. - Iron + Gems for Dyes + silks deal ends with Russia. I have options; I can get either Theology or Chivalry as bonus. I decide on Theology as India, Japan and China all have their UU in Chivalry so they go for that, giving us a trade opportunity.
Sign: Iron + Gems + 6 gpt + 1 gold for Silks + dyes + Theology with Russia.

[6] 310 AD - Our galley settler spots a free plain tile.

[7] 320 AD - settler dropped off. Have to starve Boston to prevent it going riotting.

IBT: Korea demands us out, ok.
Philly settler -> temple

[8] 330 AD - Found Dallas in a saliant between Russia and Germany. Found Memphis on an island.

IBT: Indians start Knights Templar.
Wash rax -> horse
Houston temple -> aqua

[9] 340 AD - As expected India has Chivalry, but not Theology. Theology sold for Chivalry + 7 gold. Changing far away Memphis to be our Lone scientist hideout.

IBT: French start Copernicus

[10] 350 AD - Move some workers and a lone settler.

-------------------
I have not done any MM-ing this turn. It's the next player's decision to starve Boston for a quicker FP or not. Give it your best shot; I hope we're back in the Space-Race.

America_350_AD.JPG

Settler is heading to the red dot (but needs defense soon).

The Save 350 AD.

Nicely done Rik. Im still not to comfortable with our chance at the Space Race, but the palace throne just got a cushion, if you catch my drift. ;)

:clap: :goodjob: :clap:

You guys have done a great job recovering from, and avenging, the war w/ the soon to be extinct Germans.

am i up here as well?
