There went the comedian that I respected the most. I really appreciated the way that he went to visit the soldiers so often, lifting their spirits for a spell. He was a class act through and through. Rest in peace, Bob.
I heard he did lots of great things, I don't really know because he was already way over the hill when i came around. too bad he's gone but it's not like he died unexpectedly or young. anyways rip
How about living through two world wars, Korea, Vietnam, two Iraqs, Somalia, Kosovo, the Cuban missile crises, etc and still having a good sense of humor?
And you can add all the terrible disasters that happened during his life: he was alive for the Great Earthquake in San Francisco, the atrocities of totalitarianism in Germany and Russia, losing China to dictatorship and communism, two atomic bombs dropped, civil wars all over Africa and the Mideast, the Great Depression, the commie witch-hunts, Reagan's term in office....
After going through all that and still being able to tell jokes, you can't help but admire the man.
