I used to be a bold kind of guy (seeking fortune's favor ;)) but these days I am drawn to the subtle beauty of the italic. Please state a case for your preferred style and keep it serious, ideally with what you think your choice has to say about your character.

No joke option, this is a serious thread!

Thank you for your time and participation! :hatsoff:

Bold when I'm laying the bs on thick.

Italics for her pleasure.

More seriously though, I think that whether you use bold, italics, or let your words go naked depends on how dense you think your target audience is and how hard you think you need to hit them to get through such density.

I prefer bold on this forum because quote tags change text to italics, but don't revert italics to regular text. So anything italicized is camouflaged.

In emails I tend to use italics more often.

I never use bold. Only a few times on bb's I can remember using it. I suppose this reflects my real life personality. I generally don't shout and draw attention to myself.

I do use italics. Though not that often either. But occasionally I'll find an appropiate situation to use them in.

Italic to tell people when the courier is doing something, and bold for when she inevitably votes for herself.

both....

Neither. I prefer to make my case with the meanings of the words. If I can't then that means that I'm being lazy, or I haven't thought the idea clearly enough. Using bold or italics is just a cheat for not being able to use the language.
Except in certain well-defined conventions, such as using italics for foreign words.

I use italics for words that I would emphasise by pausing in conversations.

I use bold for words I would emphasise by gesticulating or emphasising the first syllable of in conversation.

I use CAPITALS for words I would say loudly in conversation.

poll lacks options.. what about neither.. or both equal?
