The Dademen must expand, send 250 men armed with 100 1 - H guns, 50 2 - H guns, and lead by Aygon and his dragons down to Homestead to explore, gather materials, and begin to clear out Homestead of mirelurks and other creatures to prep it for a future colony/settlement.

Focus exploration mainly on the Miami Dade College - Homestead Campus and the Homestead plaza, explore and see if it could be an effective place to set up a second base. specifically be weary about survivors if our team runs across any other people, so long as they are not raiders, persuade them to join our group. If they are raiders, feed them to the dragons.

Also, from here on out, any raider encampment that we find will be used as food for the dragons.

Finally search for animals like brahim or any other large beast that could be domesticated for food for both us, and the dragons.

Inter-Faction Reports

WAR ERUPTS IN SUNSHINE WASTELAND! A long-feared and expected war between the Sunshine Kingdom and Jacksonia has finally broken out. The government of Jacksonia has condemned the Sunshine Kingdom for constant support of the organization known as the Sons of Oscar. They have further claimed that the Queen was threatening to sell out the people of the Kingdom to the Enclave, bringing claims of evidence. Lastly, they accused the Queen of fabricating evidence to implicate Jacksonia as the perpetrators behind an attack on the Enclave, leading to the deaths of thousands by orbital strike. Whether or not the cause is just, Jacksonia seems to have already won the war as quickly as it began. With a brutal attack from the south, and using artillery to deadly effect, the Jacksonians decimated the Sunshine Kingdom’s defenders. By the end of June, only two towns remained under the Kingdom’s control, the distant communities of Edge and Reach. Most observers believe that the war is as good as won by the Jacksonians, as they delivered a deadly first strike.

WAR AND SURPLUS BRING MARKET PRICING CHAOS. The outbreak of war has caused a major fluctuation in the market. Heightened demand for ammunition and firearms have caused prices to grow exponentially, as Jacksonia arms its forces for battle against the Sunshine Kingdom. This has been combined with a major glut of food poured into the open market by a variety of factions. The bounties of the Fruitland and Paradise were sold to the caravans, along with contributions from other places across the wastelands. Food prices are at an all-time low, while caravans and farmers struggle to recoup the losses spurred by this major dump onto the market. Others anticipate a slow recovery of the market over the next few years, while war disrupts production in the Sunshine Wasteland.

GEORGIA BADLANDS CARAVANS FACE NEW SCOURGE. Caravan masters have reported growing losses in caravans moving in the eastern Georgian Badlands. The area has always been known for heavy raider activity and for the most part, caravan guards have widely always been capable of defending their charges. Unfortunately, it seems the creation of the Raider Federation has put the caravans through Georgia at greater risk. A large party of raiders from the Federation have been operating throughout eastern Georgia, slaughtering caravans that pass through. The caravans have been overwhelmed by efforts to protect their supplies from these raiders and caravan guard work has become notoriously dangerous. Caravan companies have called upon various wasteland factions and communities to do what they can to protect the vital immigration and caravan routes through the region.

WAR BREAKS OUT BETWEEN SURVIVALIST UNION AND SAWGRASS TRIBE. The attention of the Sunshine Wasteland has been fixated upon the outbreak of war between the Sunshine Kingdom and Jacksonia. In the shadow of this great conflict, a smaller war has begun between the Survivalist Union and the Sawgrass Tribe. Initiated out of a debate over chem distribution and sale, the Survivalist Union’s most powerful drug dealers are now calling the shots. They have spurred a major attack on the Sawgrass capital of Stilt Town, attempting to force open the gates and establish themselves as the tribe’s new lords. The Sawgrass repulsed this initial attack and foreign observers believe that this may just mark the first battle of a prolonged conflict.

FALL OF THE CULT OF THE DAMNED. The Cult of the Damned, known for its infamous and humble beginnings in Liberty City, has been eradicated. A number of assassinations throughout the wasteland have been attributed to the Fellowship of the Palm’s “ministers,” an elite class of killer. These attacks have been in conjunction with the recent offensive against the Sunshine Kingdom by the Fellowship and Jacksonia. The former center of the Cult of the Damned, Oak Hill, was captured by the Fellowship’s army in the recent war, and trials commenced in Palm Coast almost immediately. The trials condemned the Cult’s leadership for communicating with demons and other crimes against humanity, including the sacrifice of infants and cannibalism. The trials were overwhelming decided against the Cult of the Damned, and their leaders were burned at the stake. This has been a major blow to one of the Sunshine Wasteland’s primary faiths, as the Fellowship now stands dominant, with the backing of the Overseer of Jacksonia.

Faction Reports

Dademen
Spoiler :

The Dademen faced an issue with the Dragon Lord’s pets as they have quickly been consuming a large amount of food. They sought to find a new way to maintain these animals, and did so with a large clearing operation of known mirelurk nests in the Homestead area. The clearing was mostly a success though several dozen people were killed or injured in the process. Scouts took soil samples and tested the Homestead area, and they deemed that the entire area was fair for agriculture, but not fantastic. They confidently claimed that the area could easily be adapted to support a decent amount of farming with time and equipment. The mirelurks have been mostly cleared out, though a number of nests remain in the more swampy regions around Homestead.

Dragon Lord’s Challenge: One of the local girls among the Dademen has recently begun having claims of visions of the future and has made uncanny statements about the private lives of our people. It is believed by some that she has been touched with these abilities of foresight and could see things that are to come. On the other hand, others dismiss her as simply being insane and in need of exile. How do we respond to the dispute that has emerged over this possible soothsayer?

Florida Reclamation District
Spoiler :

The Florida Reclamation District has continued to remain highly productive towards their efforts to reclaim Florida for civilization. Unfortunately, others do not agree with that mission, and the District was attacked at Nukaloosa by a tribe of vicious raiders from the Georgia Badlands. The town was very nearly overrun before the Enclave responded in force to bombard the raiders and secure the settlement. Many were killed in the fighting, but the town continues to remain intact for the moment. Salvaging has continued in Tallahassee with success, and crews have reported that in the southern parts of the ruins, the ghoul population has substantially declined with recent activity. Many of these materials have been redirected towards other construction efforts, including new fortifications around the vault and a new boat for use in future scouting expeditions. A new group of scouts headed north around Tallahassee, scouting the ruins of Bradfordville and Iamonia, before turning back. They claimed both towns appeared untouched by salvagers, and while Bradfordville had a large number of various creatures residing in and around the ruins, Iamonia was empty of any significant forms of life. With the new war erupting in the south, many wonder now what the future holds for the District.

Governor’s Challenge: Recently, at the encouragement of the Enclave garrison, our people have begun adopting baseball as a bit of a pastime. Games are becoming fairly frequent but there’s no regulation or set teams of any kind. The Enclave officers believe that our government should step in and regulate and control the whole affair, but they recognize that we could allow private citizens to manage themselves. Should we take a role in the organization of baseball within our District?

Fort Rome
Spoiler :

Fort Rome has continued its rapid expansion across northern Alabama. A new settlement has been created called Pompeii in the ruins of Laceys Spring not far south from the main fort, across the Tennessee River. The new town uses a local bridge for the crossing, offering a protected way to cross and a new area for farming. The more dramatic achievement in expansion came with the faction’s attack upon the peaceful town of Skyline to the northeast. Sitting atop the route between Fort Rome and Neapolis, the town was considered to be vital for the safety of the nation. A large force was dispatched and an attack was launched at night, after forces were infiltrated into the community as harmless travelers. The offensive was a complete success, as the town’s militia was taken entirely by surprise and slaughtered. The few survivors have been enslaved and captured, as the town falls to new rule. The new conquest has helped bolster both supplies and production, easing the shortages that the faction had previously faced.

Consul’s Challenge: Members of our civilian government are highly opposed to the institution of slavery as we continue to take larger and larger numbers of slaves from the wasteland. They have numerous backers among the new immigrants who continue to arrive in our nation, not to mention, support from the slaves themselves. If we continue the institution of slavery, we will likely face growing resistance form our own population and civilian leadership. How do we respond to the growing calls for abolition of slavery?

Georgia Reclamation District
Spoiler :

The Georgia Reclamation District has done much to expand the security and strength of its towns and cities. After making a good deal of caps on the sale of surplus food supplies, the money was dedicated towards financing the Sunshine Construction Union. The Union has done proud and expansive work throughout the entire District, adding fortifications to a number of cities, and bringing the garrisons up to strength. They have also provided farming equipment to two towns, and a water station to another. The development of infrastructure has gone a long way to improving the satisfaction with most of these towns with the Governor. Another project was conducted as a new baseball diamond was established outside of Vault 136, and efforts began on assembling a team. Recent talks have debated a new baseball tournament between the various Reclamation Districts at some point in the near future.

Salvage operations have been taken to a whole new scale, as both primary and secondary expeditions have been sent out to destinations across northern Georgia. These had varying degrees of success, and a few expeditions actually suffered fairly heavy casualties during their efforts at reclaiming materials for the District. The expedition to Fort McPherson had difficulty with local base defenses which apparently had not responded to Enclave attempts to deactivate them. An expedition to Lathemtown found that the area was populated with countless deadly booby traps and creatures. Many died in the process of salvaging the ruins, despite the lack of any actual organized resistance. The expedition in Coal Mountain had similar problems. The expedition to Waleska instead found actual organized enemies in the form of giant ants that poised a strong front against the salvagers. Artillery had to be called into disperse the ants, but they still caused heavy losses among the salvagers. In the town of Noonday, the salvagers faced raiders, who attacked the expedition relentlessly. They were easily defeated using artillery and advanced weapons, but they still did their fair share of damage.

The wasteland was not only full of raiders and monsters, but some civilized communities were discovered by the salvagers. Restrictions were placed on the kinds of towns admitted into the District, looking for more situated and established ones, rather than just any old community with only a few Brahmin to their names. Only the town of Rockmart met the new qualifications and they were eager to escape the chaos of the wasteland and join up with a larger faction. The town was quickly annexed into the District. Other towns with less value were those like Draketown, a struggling frontier community to the west. Another was the more dubious Leroy’s Town, run by a ruthless local, but amiable warlord, who offered food and supplies to the scouts. He holds slaves, but seems to treat them fairly, and has expressed his desire for friendly relations with the GRD.

Governor’s Challenge: Baseball fever has gripped our people, spurred by the efforts of the Enclave and the newspapers that support them. Towns have begun organizing their own baseball teams and practice matches, but there is neither rhyme nor reason to the whole affair. The governor has been asked to step in and bring order and rules to the fledgling sporting community, and how shall he manage the new games?

Grand City of Orlando
Spoiler :

The outbreak of war has not changed the business as usual attitude in the Grand City of Orlando. Despite an immediate and dramatic drop in tourism, they have continued conducting business as best as they can. Salvaging efforts in Orlando have remained consistent, using robots to bring in plenty of scrap for the benefit of the faction. There were other plans made for construction between Terminus and Christmas, but the start of hostilities has prevented construction as Jacksonia monopolizes the roads for use for reinforcements to the front lines. On the home front, the Grand Minister has overseen the creation of the Department of Health and Safety, designed to prevent disease of all types, particularly communicable diseases from the large population of ladies of ill repute. Most of the population is now more concerned about the fighting to the east and what likely Jacksonian hegemony could cause for the people of Orlando.

Grand Minister’s Challenge: The fighting between Jacksonia and the Sunshine Imperium has caused vicious splitting within our council. Some have claimed that the speed the Jacksonians used to move through Orlando could one day be turned against the city, and that efforts should be taken to prevent Jacksonia ever launching an offensive against us. Others believe in becoming closer with Jacksonia, and aiding them in their war. A particularly vocal minority oppose both, stating that open involvement in support of the Imperium is the only way to secure a future of prosperity and peace for Orlando. How do we respond to this debate?

Green Bear Corps
Spoiler :

The Green Bear Corps has suffered new losses as a major war breaks out in the Sunshine Wasteland. Jacksonia’s invasion of the Sunshine Kingdom came at a time when the Corps was preparing to send reinforcements to Nasacity to act as a new Royal Guard. Unfortunately, it took some time to move troops into position, as rafts had to be painstakingly used to shuttle soldiers across the St. Johns into Satsuma. By the time the would-be Royal Guard was in place, Nasacity had already fallen, as had the rest of the Kingdom’s heartland. The Green Bear Corps fought nobly in the defense of Satsuma, but as their allies had already run out of ammunition, they could only prolong the inevitable. Outnumbered and outgunned, the power armored soldiers of the Green Bear Corps in Satsuma were wiped out to a man by the Jacksonians. Other losses were suffered to deathclaws while scavenging in other territories, but the loss in battle could be a tipping point as it becomes clear that the Sunshine Kingdom may not have been as safe of a patron as it had once appeared.

Captain-General’s Challenge: The collapse of most of the Sunshine Imperium has placed us in an awkward position. Some of our advisors suggest that it may be time to seek an arrangement with Jacksonia, rather than going down with the Kingdom. Others claim that we owe it to those who died in battle to support the Kingdom to the last man. How do we respond to the outbreak of war and our status with the Sunshine Imperium?

Jacksonia
Spoiler :

The nation of Jacksonia has undertaken the march of conquest once again, as the assembled armies of the faction head east to make war upon the Sunshine Kingdom. They have declared an open war, claiming that the Sunshine Kingdom manufactured evidence leading to the deaths of thousands of people at the hands of the Enclave. The Overseer has announced that they are seeking to liberate the people of the Sunshine Kingdom from the threat of domination by the Enclave. Furthermore, they seek to end the operations of the renegade terrorist organization known as the Sons of Oscar, who have been blatantly supported by the Queen over the past few years despite their constant attacks upon Jacksonian territory. Still, the attack came as a complete surprise to the people at home and abroad, as forces were sent out under the pretense of salvaging and anti-raider operations. Thanks to Jacksonia’s long history of sending out large expeditions for salvage operations, no one thought anything suspicious about the forces sent out to the east and north.

The war began east of Orlando as a recently enlarged garrison at Terminus advanced east, attacking Christmas. The local inhabitants were caught completely by surprise and the militia was barely roused in time to defend the makeshift walls. The defenders were overpowered and slain within hours of the battle beginning. The attack on New Fort Cocoa came behind schedule as the expedition was slowed by various creatures during its movements through the wastelands south of Orlando. It came a day or two late, attacking New Fort Cocoa with overwhelming numbers and power. That city fell after a lengthier fight, but still could not withstand the artillery brought against it. As both Fort Cocoa and Christmas fell, the armies attacking them came together, along with forced conscripts from the new holdings. They then quickly moved north to attack the heart of the Sunshine Kingdom at Nasacity and Mims.

The siege of Nasacity and Mims was one of the most organized operations the people of Jacksonia had ever conducted. Thanks to the Fellowship of the Palm’s activities further north, the capital was without relief or reinforcement from any quarter. The Jacksonians used their artillery to bring down the defenses through sustained bombardment over a half day before assaulting the town. The entire community was badly damaged and burning throughout the battle, as the forces of the Sunshine Kingdom struggled to hold any segment of the community. Eventually the Jacksonians triumphed and the remaining people surrendered. The fighting in Mims was equally intense, though the defense soon ran out of ammunition and were unable to continue fighting.

With victory over Nasacity, the Jacksonians met up with the army of the Fellowship of the Palm, which had already captured Paradise’s Heart and Oak Hill. A light siege was made of New Smyrna as artillery was brought into position. A minor setback was had when a mini-nuke was used by the defenders against Jacksonian artillery positions, wiping out an artillery piece, but doing little to stall the offensive. The artillery pummeled the city, which had no ammunition to use to respond with any of their modern weapons. The fortifications crumbled under the bombardment and the resulting fight was bitter and harsh, as the defense fought house to house for their town. Ultimately the fighters were dead, and the rest of the town was surrendered, as the Jacksonians and the Fellowship prepared for the last battle.

The town of Satsuma was the last central stronghold of the Sunshine Kingdom. The armies of both Jacksonia and the Fellowship of the Palm were mustered together to assault the fortifications there, which had been previously weakened by a bandit raid. The defense lacked any ammunition for their rifles, but they were bolstered by reinforcements from the Green Bear Corps. The reinforcements helped make a tougher fight for the attackers, but the sheer numbers of Jacksonia’s army proved too much for the detachment of the Corps to handle. The town fell, and with it a newly built bridge for the use of the Jacksonian army. Only the farflung towns of Edge and Reach remained under the Kingdom’s control.

Meanwhile, while battles raged further east, another front was being waged underground. In the former Vault 44, now known as Queen’s Deep, the Jacksonians had launched another attack at the same time the fighting began around Christmas and New Fort Cocoa. Using several Stealth Boys, the Jacksonians managed to seize control of the Vault 44 airlock, and prevent the garrison from retaking it. This allowed them to bring in substantial other forces to begin a battle for control of the vault. An attempt to take the Overseer’s Office was repulsed, allowing the defense to retain control of the lockdown protocols and delay further advances. The fighting turned into a brutal slogging match, as the Jacksonians were forced to advance slowly into the deepest levels of the vault. Eventually, once the Jacksonians took control of the food and water processors, the defenders were forced to surrender to the relentless onslaught.

Overseer’s Challenge: The people who once were subjects of the Sunshine Kingdom have viewed our arrival with extensive concern and trepidation. Many remember the conquest carved out across the Sunshine Wasteland by the overseer’s father, and are concerned that their lives will be greatly disrupted. Community leaders have appealed to the Overseer to allow the people formerly of the Kingdom to live in peace as they have in years past, promising to try to keep a handle on partisan activity if a pledge is made that people will be allowed to retain their property. How do we respond to this proposal?

Louisiana Reclamation District
Spoiler :

The Louisiana Reclamation District has taken a page out of the book of the Georgia Reclamation District as they begin expanding throughout surrounding territory. Taking advantage of food shortages in other communities along the Mississippi River, the LRD has managed to bring both Carveil and Burned Side into the fold. The annexation of these two towns has helped secure control on the river, expanding the possible power this young faction could bring to bear. Enclave advisors made sure to support the emissaries as they engaged in negotiations with the leaders of these communities. The Enclave garrison at Vault 79 has maintained patrols along the Mississippi, keeping an eye on known raider hotspots. The vault’s militia has continued to attempt clearing operations in Baton Rouge, meeting with some successes, but still sustaining heavy losses from ghouls and old traps. More important than these endeavors have been a number of scouting expeditions sent out of Baton Rouge and into the interior of Louisiana.

The first scouting expedition went north along the old Route 61. They quickly spotted the town of Baker, which merchants in Suam had previously hinted at existing. The town was friendly to the scouts, offering them a place to stay before they continued north. The rest of the northern expedition was fairly tame, until they reached the ruins of Ashwood, where they encountered creatures previously unheard of. These strange beasts seemed to practically glide along the earth, until they would leap and tear a person apart with their tentacles and teeth. Half of the expedition was lost to these creatures, and the rest gave the area a wide berth as they continued with their journey.

The second expedition was sent to the east along Route 90, and they had a far more peaceful journey than those that had gone north. They ran into a peaceful town called Denham and most of the other areas they scouted were empty of any significant life forms. The third expedition started peacefully, as they headed south, also along the old Route 61. They managed to avoid a large number of raider encampments, reporting them back to the vault. Scouts also seemed to indicate a large number of mirelurk nests throughout the region, and very few places a person could rest or camp safely. The expedition returned, and with the other two expeditions, created a much better map of the area surrounding the ruins of Baton Rouge.

Governor’s Challenge: Recent heavy usage of the caravan markets has begun to drop a larger number of caps into our population. Our people have begun to regularly use this de facto currency in their own endeavors, and it seems likely that we could be on the verge of a major economic change. With our people now making money of a sort, we could consider levying taxes upon them. Even a small amount of tax such as a single cap per person each half year could go a long way to increasing our buying power on the open market. How do we respond to taxation proposals?

The Maritime Collective started the year quietly, without much going on. Construction work was begun on rebuilding the demolished ammunition convertor in Pensacola, thankfully completing it before summer. The effective flagship of the Collective was once again used in a collaborative effort to retrieve scrap from sunken vessels in Mobile Bay harbor. They had great success in retrieving old parts from the shallower areas of the Bay, but it is believe that not much else of value remains. The underwater salvagers believe that there is not nearly enough parts left for useful salvage from the sunken craft along the Gulf coast.

Mayor’s Challenge: There has been a flu outbreak in New Panama. Some of our advisors suggest a quarantine of the area to prevent the spread of the disease to other towns in the Collective. Others claim that this will be an unbearable restriction on freedom and that we can rely on our doctors to treat anyone who becomes sick. How do we respond to this crisis?

New Gulf Commonwealth
Spoiler :

The New Gulf Commonwealth has turned towards development internally, even as war breaks out on their borders. There was some concern when Jacksonia sent an alleged salvage expedition to the north, which turned into the attack on Queen’s Deep. In response, a number of new fortifications were commissioned to prevent a similar surprise attack on the Commonwealth. They further sought to reduce reliance on food imports, with the development of new farming capabilities in Spring City and Newberry. It is hoped that with the new war erupting, the Commonwealth will be able to maintain its peace and prosperity, while avoiding the iron heel of tyrants.

Governor’s Challenge: The status of the Ryan family is still very significant in our government. Many Ryan family members continue to hold sensitive posts in our management and bureaucracy. Some of the new governor’s advisors have suggested a purge of the ranks to replace them with more suitable candidates. This could help preserve the stability of our regime and reduce the risk of a possible coup or revolt in the ranks. On the other hand, they have been doing their jobs well enough for some time and a purge could cause more trouble than it is worth. How do we respond to this issue?

Night Stalkers
As the tensions leading to the Great War continued to build, the commander of the garrison of the airfield ordered the construction of a bunker system in case the base needed to be defended from a possible invasion in the future. This proved to be prudent as it allowed most of the SOAR to survive the direct nuke hit in nearby Savannah. While members of other units made it to the bunker, the SOAR received special warning due to its special role in the Special Ops programs of the time, and thus the need to keep its advanced stealth technology hidden. The leader of the SOAR at that time was LTC James Michealson, and as the ranking officer there he was in command of all the bunker. Over time this honor went from being awarded to the ranking officer to the commander of the SOAR, picked by popular vote. LTC John Roscoe is the latest in this line, and he made the fateful decision to send some scouting parties to investigate what has survived both on base and around Savannah and the Savannah River. Now, as the Night Stalkers prepare to set out in the world, they are prepared to restore order to the wasteland and continue America and its ideals.

LTC’s Challenge: We are opening our doors to the Wasteland for the first time and there are hundreds of traveling refugees and nomads around us. Should we offer these people a new, safer home from the travails of the wasteland or protect our people first? How do we respond to the possibility of immigration?

King’s Challenge: Our scouts have begun to report that regular merchant routes have begun to be established between the mainland factions and the islands in the Bahamas. They offer the potential for both trade and immigration, but we have always avoided external influences upon our people. Should we allow these independent merchants and traders to enter into our ports or continue our standing policies of confiscation and seizure?

People’s Republic of America
Spoiler :

The People’s Republic of America has had its first expansion in bringing communism to the wasteland. The town of Elrod has been accepted as an autonomous community in the Republic, and annexed into the larger faction. They have mostly accepted some of the tenets of communism, but have continued to live their lives as they have always before. Elrod’s decision is believed to have been based upon a shortage of needed supplies to survive the coming fall and winter. In other news, an expedition was sent out from St. Pauls to the nearby ruins of Rennert. They found the area to be mostly vacant except for a variety of hostile creatures that avoided the expedition. Salvage was quickly conducted and a small amount of materials was returned to the Republic’s coffers.

Premier’s Challenge: The establishment of a school now leads to concerns about a curriculum. We have recovered a number of textbooks and other support for study, but we are concerned about access to prewar materials. These materials often seem to be biased against communism, and our advisors suggest we censor them as best as possible. On the other hand, censorship could have a negative effect on education. How do we respond to this debate?

Raider Federation
Spoiler :

The Raider Federation has undertaken substantial amounts of construction and other projects to help provide for the Warlord’s subjects. New water stations have been built in the various towns now under the Federation’s control, providing a decent amount of new water supply for the faction. A new school has been developed in Conquestville, focusing on a standardized educational system to improve new raiders. The educational system has avoided the standard fare that most schools in the wasteland may be familiar with. Educators here focus instead upon practical skills that could be used for more effective killing and repairs, as well as a number of mechanical educational fields. The system is very brutal for potential students, as forms of punishment are far more sophisticated and violent than in most schoolhouses.

Two expeditions were sent out into the wasteland, while patrols were enacted. The patrols consisted mostly of screening forces to observe any possible attacks from the Georgia or Florida Reclamation Districts. They avoided any battles with these Enclave puppets for a few months, as they focused upon expeditions to the east and west. The western expedition was assembled from a number of Westerlings and other people, to be created into a new tribe. They planned on capturing the town of Louisville and establishing a new reign of terror in Alabama. Unfortunately, the people of Louisville proved far more determined to keep their town than previously expected. The town’s walls were strong, and their militia marksmen deadly accurate. Hundreds died without even engaging the town’s forces, and the walls were never climbed. Eventually it became clear the town would not fall, and the failed tribe fled back to the east.

The eastern-bound expedition had substantially more success, heading out on a journey of exploration and raiding. They were ordered to scout out a route to the trade caravan paths of the eastern Georgia Badlands, particularly near Waycross and Nahunta. They found a number of independent raider tribes which were easily convinced to join up with the Federation, bringing a good deal of new arms and weapons into the raider band headed east. Raiding was simple against the caravans which were ill-prepared for and surprised by the skill and organization of the Federation’s forces. The raiders made sure to leave at least one person alive from each caravan hit to spread the word about their brutality. The expedition returned west without any difficulty, but steered clear for the moment of a particularly well-armed community known as Two Tys, built close to the heart of the new Federation.

Warlord’s Challenge: Those who failed to take Louisville continue to survive, including the would-be leaders of the tribe that never was. Some of the warlord’s advisors believe an example should be made of the people who failed to take such a small town, the more brutal, the better. On the other hand, we could face a major campaign to destroy us by our enemies at any moment, and we may need every gun hand available. How do we respond to this dispute?

Reclaimed Free Republic
Spoiler :

The Reclaimed Free Republic has been working on resolving its resource issues, hoping to increase production. A new settlement, known as Saya, was established upon the ruins of the town of McCormick. A number of people were killed during clearing operations, seeking to drive out the various hostile creatures that lived within. Thanks to superior firepower, the local critters were eventually exterminated and the people could settle there in peace. Combined with a new water station, farming has begun immediately, as settlers move into the new outpost. The town has done well for itself and seems to be prospering, away from most threats of attack. An expedition sent back from the town was tasked with surveying territories between Saya and the rest of the Republic. They found most of the small towns on their way back were long empty of any life, though Parksville was deemed to be fertile for farming. An actual habited town of Clarkshill was found, and they exchanged friendly greetings with the scouts, maintaining their own peaceful lifestyle. The expedition surveyed the complete and useless wreckage of the old Strom Thurmond dam before returning home.

A larger expedition was sent out from Augusta up the old Interstate 20 towards Columbia. The road itself was isolated from most ruins and a trip through overgrown wilderness surrounding the road itself. Unfortunately, the expedition was ambushed by raiders at both Red Bank and Oak Grove, inflicting heavy casualties in both attacks. The raiders were wiped out by superior firepower, the rest retreating to the west. Eventually the scouts reached Columbia to find it clogged with ghouls and other vicious creatures, the worse the deeper into the city a person goes. A minimal amount of salvage was retrieved before the expedition returned to the south.

Chancellor’s Challenge: A representative of a “honest businessman” from the south has offered a business proposition to our people in Viracocha and Nanhazbo. He has requested a portion of both towns to be put aside and unmonitored by our people, in exchange for a substantial amount of caps as a donation to our coffers. He has offered two hundred thousand caps to ignore the creation of a new fortified mansion in Viracocha and a presence in our local markets. How do we respond to this proposal?

Sawgrass Tribe
Spoiler :

The Sawgrass Tribe is at war! Once friendly relations with the Survivalist Union have rapidly deteriorated. Angry at the lack of allowance for a drug trade in Stilt Town, the leaders of the Union launched a major attack using light firearms. The town’s defenses held firm against the attackers, who seemed to be out of their wits with chems and disorganized. The fighting was brutal and many were killed and wounded among the defenders, but the Union’s force was repulsed. Still, the damage done was apparently, and many of the tribesmen grieve for lost friends and families killed in the chaotic attack. A few escaped these woes by joining settlers to a new settlement in the west, upon a site of an old town. While old Immokalee had been thoroughly looted over the years by salvagers, the New Immokalee acts as a fortified settlement for the Sawgrass people. Dozens of settlers have moved to the new site, marking the Tribe’s first expansion into the rest of the Sunshine Wasteland.

Chief’s Challenge: Our advisors are divided upon the response we should undertake against the Survivalist Union in the new war we find ourselves involved in. Some of our leaders are bloodthirsty and have demanded we take the fight to the outlying settlements of the Union. Others argue for a more cautious approach, claiming that we do not have the resources for an offensive campaign. They claim that we should wait out the various attacks launched by the Survivalist Union until their current government collapses out of its own chaos. How do we respond to the new war we face?

Sunshine Kingdom
Spoiler :

The once powerful Sunshine Imperium is in tatters as the Kingdom itself is on the run against the powerful blows of Jacksonia’s army. As the year began, the kingdom was mostly focused upon domestic affairs, seeking attempts to appeal to the varied merchant caravans. Construction was begun immediately upon a new bridge at Satsuma, while plans were made in coordination with the Grand City of Orlando to start construction on a railroad hookup to the town of Terminus. The Enclave was asked to abandon their embassy in Nasacity, and they promptly vacated, and the embassy was turned into planned living quarters for a permanent Royal Guard of the Green Bear Corps. Sadly, these forces never arrived as war broke out between the Sunshine Kingdom and its neighbors.

The first battles were fought against the Fellowship of the Palm. The Fellowship had long resented the Sunshine Kingdom and its efforts to dominate them. They began with constant harassment of the railroad, blocking the tracks with trees and rubble to prevent the train’s movement. The first real battle of the war came as the main army of the Fellowship attacked Oak Hill, the heart of the hated Cult of the Damned. Sheer numbers overwhelmed the town’s militia, and the leaders of the Cult of the Damned were captured by the Fellowship and returned to Palm Coast for trial. The Fellowship’s great army then moved to Paradise’s Heart, where they attacked the less established settlement there. These people were even less able to defend themselves than Oak Hill had been, and the town fell very quickly.

Though the Fellowship of the Palm were the first enemies faced by the Sunshine Kingdom they were not the worst. Jacksonia’s armies descended upon the town of Christmas as their first target. The town had no real fortifications or defense and fell within hours of the attack beginning. They had no warning of the attack, but immediately sent word to Nasacity of the invading force and the start of the war. A similar attack was launched upon New Fort Cocoa, but the defenders here had an edge in the fight, being forewarned by agents of the Sons of Oscar of the impending attack. Still, it was not enough, as the town’s militia was outnumbered almost ten to one, and was quickly overwhelmed. The town of Edge cunningly demolished the bridges out to their community across the Indian River to prevent attack, securing themselves from a Jacksonian offensive.

Nasacity had been forewarned of the impending attack and every preparation was made to defend the capital of the Sunshine Kingdom against the horde of Jacksonians arrayed against it. Unfortunately, thanks to the bridge at Satsuma not being completed and constant Fellowship sabotage of the railroad tracks, the Green Bear Corps and other garrisons were unable to assist the defenders of Nasacity. Aware of the coming storm, the Queen and Royal Family were immediately evacuated by those who could be spared. They fled across a wasteland crawling with Fellowship patrols to escape to Saint Augustine and then to Reach. The town prepared itself for attack, but it was simply impossible to truly prepare for the storm of artillery unleashed. Nasacity’s walls and automated defenses fell under constant hammer blows landed over the course of a half day. The Jacksonians then poured through the breach and the capital of the Kingdom was taken. Mims fell in a similar manner only a day later.

The few survivors of the army from the battles against the Fellowship and Jacksonia fled to the most fortified town of New Smyrna. Equipped with a large number of weapons and even a Fat Man, it was hoped that this town could hold the tide back. Unfortunately, the ammunition reserves of the Kingdom had been exhausted in the previous rounds of fighting, leaving nothing left for the warriors in New Smyrna. A brief moment of hope was had when the mini-nuke was successfully used against the artillery corps of Jacksonia, but sadly only one of the nine artillery pieces brought up was destroyed. The resulting bombardment was devastating and relentless, reducing the walls and allowing the full force of Jacksonia to pour on the firepower. Eventually those who did not die in battle surrendered to Jacksonia, as only Satsuma remained east of the St. Johns River.

As the rest of the Sunshine Kingdom fell, the scattered leaders of its armies desperately attempted to put together a defense at Satsuma, as the last hope of holding together the nation. The bridge was hastily completed as a full force of the Green Bear Corps was brought in. With no ammunition, however, this force would be the only one equipped with modern munitions. As in all of the battles before, the Sunshine Kingdom was outgunned and outnumbered. The town fell after a sustained attack and even the power armored soldiers of the Green Bear Corps were nothing but a brief stall to the rising tide. A few survivors escaped across the bridge to safety, but they had nowhere to flee with the fall of Queen’s Deep to the west.

While battles raged further east, another front was being waged underground. In Queen’s Deep, the Jacksonians had launched another attack at the same time the fighting began around Christmas and New Fort Cocoa. Through unknown means, the Jacksonians managed to seize control of the vault’s airlock. This allowed them to bring in substantial other forces to begin a battle for control of the vault. A Jacksonian attempt to take the Overseer’s Office was repulsed, allowing the defense to retain control of the lockdown protocols and delay further advances. The defenders immediately began to barricade the halls with any materials and equipment available. The attackers were forces to tear down each individual barricade to advance through the vault. As events further east transpired, the result of the battle became inevitable and more hopeless. After four months of fighting, those who survived in the depths of Queen’s Deep surrendered after the Jacksonians captured the food and water processors.

The remnants of the Sunshine Kingdom have fled mostly to Reach, as the town of Edge remains isolated from anywhere else. The Queen and the Royal Family have done their best to settle into the new base of operations, but morale remains low. No one is sure of what can be done, but those who survive seem to be constantly eying the door to escape from what everyone assumes will be the last offensive by Jacksonia’s army.

Queen’s Challenge: Our great defeats and losses are beyond what we could have ever expected or anticipated. Some of our advisors suggest that we evacuate and leave the Sunshine Wasteland. They claim we have enough supplies and equipment to easily make a new life somewhere further west, perhaps in Alabama or Mississippi. Others are offended by these suggestions, arguing we should fight to the last, bitter breath against Jacksonia’s oppression. How do we respond to this debate?

Sunshine Trade League
Spoiler :

The Sunshine Trade League was prepared to carry out business as usual when the war began between the Sunshine Kingdom and Jacksonia. Salvagers were sent out throughout the ruins of Jacksonville, while others were on guard for potential raider threats from the sea. The League was caught just as surprise by the outbreak of hostilities as everyone else, and immediately did what they could to muster up new defenses. Unfortunately, or perhaps fortunately, they were unable to participate in any of the battles that commenced. The Fellowship of the Palm refrained from harassing any of the League’s caravans to the south, allowing them to continue commerce in peace. The Sunshine Kingdom’s train and cars were brought into Saint Augustine, and the League took control over them for the time being, while Satsuma and places beyond still rest in enemy hands. As the heart of the Sunshine Kingdom falls, most of the League’s people are in a panic, concerned that the next battles will be fought through their already war-torn faction, bringing back a new war so soon after the old one had ended.

Trade Lord’s Challenge: For all intents and purposes the Sunshine Imperium has been gutted. The best of the Sunshine Kingdom fell to the onslaught of the armies of the Fellowship of the Palm and Jacksonia. Emissaries from the Fellowship and our local churches have appealed to our leadership to break ties with the Kingdom and avoid becoming embroiled in the war. Other advisors to the Trade Lord argue that we need to make a stand, otherwise we could be the next prey to the Jacksonian beast. How do we respond to the onset of hostilities?

Tennessee Valley Authority
Spoiler :

The Tennessee Valley Authority has had a difficult start to the year. New farming equipment and an ammunition convertor were created for use outside of their bunker. The farming equipment was effectively useless as the territory around Knoxville has been deemed completely unsuitable to farming. Despite the community’s best efforts, no crops can be grown or developed around the bunker. The new ammunition produced proved to be woefully not enough as the events of the year began. An expedition was created to head south along the old interstate highway system to try to reach Chattanooga and determine the state of that ruined city and the area around it.

The expedition had mixed success throughout the journey. They were able to explore and test a wide variety of areas. Unfortunately the trip began with the expedition being attacked by raiders outside of the town of Eaton. While the raiders were wiped out, they forced the expedition to expend all of their ammunition, exhausting the faction’s supply. The rest of the journey, the scouts attempted to avoid the hostile life in the various towns along the way. Still, dozens were dying from constant attacks from giant ants throughout the entire trip. The last straw for the people came in the town of Ooltewah, where the expedition stumbled into a large number of ghouls. These vicious once-human beings literally tore apart the expedition, and the few survivors headed back north, unable to reach their intended destination.

Authority’s Challenge: We are out of ammunition, but we have a large supply of low-tech melee weapons for use. Some of our advisors have suggested that rather than continuing to waste materials on creating ammunition, we should focus our efforts on developing skill with these less advanced weaponry. Others claim that despite the setbacks, we should continue to try to manufacture ammunition, as it is significantly more valuable than the need to build more structures. How do we respond to this debate?

Transmississippian Confederation
Spoiler :

The Transmississippian Confederation has undertaken a major construction project. They have built a new airfield for use of their aircraft in future reconnaissance missions and patrols around the borders of the Confederation. They have already launched their first regular patrols, but have been unable to do much thanks to the time it took for the creation of the airstrip. The Confederation has further extended its grasp with the annexation of the town of Carthage. Carthage then acted as the base for two expeditions to be launched to the north. These expeditions only had limited success as they looked across the north, finding only barren towns and mostly harmless wildlife. The Stray Dogs were ambushed by a group of raiders, which were wiped out after a vicious battle. The expeditions also located two independent and friendly communities: McCool and Goodmen. These towns were somewhat receptive of the expeditions, having already been made aware of the Confederation’s presence and good nature.

Pack Leader’s Challenge: The preachers of the Fellowship of the Palm have been aggressively using our territory to proselytize to surrounding independent towns. OOC

Alfredstown in the Maritime Collective has been corrected, and the proper location (Molino, FL) has been added to the stats. Similarly other map changes pointed out, including the addition of Blue Ridge and the removal of the old Westerlings camp, have all been made.

@Tolni: As your boat was just built, it was not quite ready for scouting expeditions, and thus that particular expedition was not undertaken this update. It is available for future updates’ expeditions as of now.

@<nuke>: I’m not sure if we had a miscommunication or not, but the money the people were ok with not receiving was any payment for salvaging NOT the payments from tourism. That is especially important with the recent decline in the intake you are receiving from the tourist trade. Also your project with the Sunshine Kingdom did not take place due to the recent outbreak of unpleasantries in the region.

@Dunebear: Yes, it is assumed that all towns typically already have a lookout system in place against raiders. The problem is that it usually takes too long for anyone to actually assemble support, unless they are sent in via aircraft. Also, based on the timeframe, only six of the secondary expeditions could be launched from Dobbins.

@thomas.berubeg: due to the major disruption of caravans and trading in your territory, food was sold, but no good were purchased using the money made from the food sale. Materials WERE purchased from the existing funds available.

@J.K. Stockholme: When in doubt in some of your orders relating to weapons distribution, I gave soldiers 1-H Guns.

@Menoetius: For obvious reasons, your trade with the Sunshine Kingdom was disrupted.

@theDright: the forces you sent out to scout along the roads are really too small to conduct any significant salvage operations and still carry enough food and water to maintain themselves. That is why they had no returns beyond information.

@Everblack: As you did not specify an amount to tax each turn, I am assuming a single cap per person.

@Grandkhan: You really shouldn’t underestimate the desire of people to defend their homes, especially if they have good, solid walls and automatic weapons. Also, your educational vision is acceptable as “General” education.

@Ahigin: The raiders you listed to be killed were already expelled or eliminated in the wake of the last journeys. My apologies if that wasn’t clear in the last update. The anti-raider operation was not launched due to this.

Railroad Assets: 2 Cars, 1 Luxury Car, 1 Engine

Is it a mistake, or did I just come across an abandoned train?

Oh well.

My Only complaint is that you CATEGORICALLY told me, regarding vault 37, that there was no way for any enemy to take control of a vault. How did Jacksonia manage to do so?

@Ahigin: That was meant for the Sunshine Trading League Stats. Not yours. Will correct for the next update.

@Thomas.berubeg: Per the articles in the update, Jacksonia used stealth boys to gain control of the airlock, allowing them to bring more troops in. Vaults are only impregnable as long as the vault door remains sealed to outsiders.

Wow holy ****

Excellent update EQ.

Also lol at Louisville surviving longer than the Atom Union did. Oh man they are so getting impaled.

Oh, the wheel of fortune, it bloody spins again. Some die, others prosper...

EDIT: EQ you forgot to put in the caps I gained from taxation

Announcement from Overseer Tiffany Jackson

Queen Bede has betrayed us. All of us. She has compulsively sabotaged every effort to oppose the Enclave, explicitly targeting Jacksonia - fabricating evidence of Jacksonian complicity in a raid which brought down Enclave orbital strikes on 2,000 of our people and the late Overseer Gregg Jackson, inviting Enclave delegates into their capital so the Queen could begin negotiating with the Enclave to have themselves anointed the sole legitimate government of Florida, supporting a terrorist organization, the Sons of Oscar, by helping them hijack Jacksonian plasma imports, and directly funding their illegal, revolutionary activities.

We harbour no ill will towards those reasonable and honest factions of the wasteland, who in good faith work with Jacksonia, rather than double-cross us - shaking our hand in one meeting, to schedule the financing our immediate enemies in the next.

We sincerely apologize, here publicly, to the Sunshine Trade League and the Green Bear Corps for any losses or disruption of public life we have caused in the process of eliminating the wasteland's penultimate threat. We have never experienced betrayal by either of your factions - and so extend an open hand of friendship, so that no more blood need be wasted on infighting among wasters. We genuinely hope you accept.

Statement from Queen Stephanie Bede

Jacksonia has again proven that it has not grown beyond the barbarity from which it sprang, seeking only to legitimize it's ruthless brutality behind baseless accusations. Every single one of the accusations brought against the Kingdom by Tiffany Jackson is false.

What we have seen, yet again, is the Grinning Deathclaw that is Jacksonia betraying the very concepts of peace and prosperity within this modern world. As they built their cruel empire on the Bones of free and independent cities of the waste, now they seek to extend it's reach over all of Florida by bathing the blood of peace. We thought we could help Jacksonia grow into a peaceful, productive member of society, but, clearly, they are the true monsters of the waste.

The claim we have betrayed them, when in fact that reverse is true. By this very attack on our people, they have broken years worth of treaties and agreements which have been signed in good faith, including Defense agreements, Scrapping agreements, and research agreements.

We Call on all right thinking people of the wasteland to unite in throwing down these Tyrants, who are the epitomy of Anti-American thought.

@EQ

I don't suppose it's possible for me to transfer the farm equipment to a different settlement?

@Mosher: It's completely possible for you to do that.

New map in my old format is ready:

P.S. I just noticed a typo in GRD faction name. I fixed my file, but I don't want to re-upload it to imgur, so let it be a "disctrict" for now.
