Botwawki 2.6

The Adventures of the Traveler should definitely continue. To me, it's a great opportunity to see the world we're creating from a different vantage point. Even though I couldn't participate (too slow, too busy), it was a huge fun to read.

As for the stats, I think we're missing ammo and karma. The former one would make some choices more important (right now, if you have a good gun, you can go into lengthy trips across the wilderness, not afraid to run out of ammo), while the latter one is just fun to have to see what the character has become, morally.

Did you think about giving the Traveler some perks? Maybe grant them for some in-game achievements instead of XP points?

I've been thinking about ammo, just concerned that the fast pace will prevent people from buying ammunition when needed. We'll give it a try with the next update. Make swords a bit more meaningful. As for karma, I'm already regretting having it as part of faction stats, so I think we'll keep that away for now, since with a whole bunch of people guiding him, I don't think it's fair to label him with good or evil for the time being. With perks, I've decided to implement that through any enhancements or whatnot that he accumulates through adventures.

Sounds fair.

P.S. Could you please include my map update in the last turn update? That way it'll be easier to find the map for each turn.

Option 1. Awesome RPG, btw. Its really nice to see botwawki's world from another perspective. I just hope that my little civil war dont bother Diane in her way home :)

@Ahigin: I will, but first two mistakes that should be fixed. First, Ranger and Fairmont are reversed. Second, Liberty City and St. Lucy are also reversed.

@Tolni: I considered doing the New Vegas skills instead of the SPECIAL stats, but my concern is that would be too many stats, not all of which would be used. Therefore, they have been reduced into the much smaller SPECIAL, whcih can be used for relevant challenges of a broad variety.

For everyone: Aiming to start the update on Tuesday and post by Wednesday. You have been warned.

Option 1.

Nuke let me know that I should check in. I am indeed alive.

I have really enjoyed reading the Traveler's adventures. Adds a whole new perspective to the world we are creating. Keep going with it - I'am loving it.

Just a reminder that the update will be on Tuesday, so allya'll got less than two days to get orders in.

Sawgrass Tribe Orders:

Faction Trait: Barbaric
Karma: True Neutral
Capital: Stilt Town (Everglades Agricultural Area, FL)
Structures: Energy Reactor, Fortifications
Population: 1,160
Slaves: 0
Education: Oral
Food: 2,480 (+1,000)

Energy: 9 (+3)
Materials: 1,200
Ammunition: 0
Military Equipment: 750 Low-Tech Melee Weapons, 200 High-Tech Melee Weapons, 40 1-H Guns, 20 2-H Guns
Robots: None
Military Skill: 5

Spending:

Spend 800 materials on 1 ammo converter.

Military/Movement:

Start exploring further northwest, looking for new settlements to scavenge in. Focus on gathering materials, but also continue to keep an eye out for future raiders, slavers, and monster/muntant dens. We will travel in large numbers to dissuade attacks (groups of 20-30 armed with high-tech melee weapons).

Diplomacy/Trading:

Trade our 40 1-H Guns to merchant caravans in exchange for materials, as many as we can possibly get. Keep the 2-H guns and produce enough ammo for us to comfortably defend ourselves in case of major attacks (we will be careful with the ammo we make, only giving the guns to people who are good shots, such as trusted immigrants who have solid gun training and tribe members who show the potential to learn) as well as a reserve ammo supply for the 20 guards to train with and train up our tribe members with in case they need to pick up a fallen comrade's weapon to help defend Stilt Town.

I had some half an hour to kill, and decided to kill it by doing a quick sketch of a Wasteland Wolf lasweapon soldier:

Starting the update now. Get those orders in!

Sorry, EQ, but I won't be able to contribute for a few weeks. I might be able to return later, but for now... sorry.

Should I simply NPC your faction for the time being, in the theory that you will return? Or are you all right with it going completely available for anyone else as a true NPC? If the former, just some basic ideas on what you want them to do in your absence is all I would require.

Sure, you can make them a full NPC; I've managed to loose my connection and sense of motivation with them, which combined with my next few weeks busyness. Well.
