Brigid the Shining

Here's my Brigid Idea

Brigid is Freed from her Prison.

A new Civ enters the Game with a few settlers and era appropriate units, as well as Brigid Unit. (the Clan, with the leader being Brigid) (works even if the clan is already in the game)

the player is given the option of playing as Brigid (could use the Switch Civ event already in the game)

The Clan (under Brigid) is in a permanant alliance with the freeing civ.

Brigid (the unit) would have a Rantine like ability to convert Barbarian Cities to her civ as long as she is strongest in the city, and would have Fire I, II, and III (divine). hell, she could even convert defeated orcish units to her civ.

This works, as it doesn't create a new civ (no 22 civs, still 21.)

Brigid would naturally be an unplayable laader as the clan from the begining.

Brigid's traits: Aggressive, Charismatic, Spiritual, (agnostic?)
Spoiler Leaderhead pics maybe :

Brigid would work to try to Bring Bhall Back from evil, to make her rise again, or if she can't do that, Kill her...

Sounds cool, but you'd need to make her barbarian for the Rantine-like ability to work, which I'm not sure fits the flavor of being good. As for the leaderhead pic, the entire face would need to be changed, along with the ears. Other than that it sounds pretty awesome

damn, your right about that Rantine Problem.

Do you think the orcs would let her into thier cities? :p

Seriously... the orcs might let her in, just from her connection to bhall... Bhall might hope to bring Brigid down too... (IIRC Bhall couldn't bring herself to Kill Brigid, but instead imprisoned her. now that she is free, she might try again to bring her down... (which coiuld be represented by events...)

Invisible will only get you there if the unit does not have the ability to attack.

I'm not sure that anyone called "the Shining" would be invisible. If her light can be seen from all across Erebus (their Aurora Borealis), I doubt it would not be seen close up.

I was just thinking that it would be really cool for your units to be able to occupy the same space as blinded units without combat. Of course, since you would probably still want the ability to attack these units this probably wouldn't work well. Why can't attacking be a separate command from moving (requiring a right click or something)? I'd much prefer that.

Her having the ability to blind does make sense. It might be nice for the spell to be called by a pyPerTurn function of either the unit (if they add this tag to the unit schema like I've requiested) or a promotion only she has to blind units nearby automatically.

She might be able to contorl her light, only blazing away in prison to try to get someone to save her...

there woudl have to be a spell for her to, once on a tile with other people, lets her attack.

Also, now that i think about it, she wouldn't ally herself with just anyone...
she would hate the Sheim, the Calabim, and any other evil civ, and probably not like the Grigori, and the feeling would be mutual...

Jason Engle is awesome.

Actually, I would think the she would get along just fine with Cassiel, given her experiences with falling gods.

Likewise, Odio would probably refuse to ally with good civs, though neutral civs, even those following RoK could be understood (we put you in the ground, we'll let you out but you follow us now).

I'll bring this up with Vehem, see if he could be convinced to add Brigid to his MOdmod, unless kael is tempted... ;)

and, yes, jason engles is awesome. you spoke to him, right kael?

Yeap, talked to him all about FfH. He showed me some art he is working on that hasnt been released yet that is even better than his current stuff. He said we are welcome to use his art for the mod, he's a very nice guy.

I can't really see any of these characters being coerced by the civilizations of man - these are after all, angels of the same stature as basium and hyborem, temporarily imprisoned for challenging the will of their gods (Brigit was archangel to the most powerful of the gods before her fall) - once free, their power would be far beyond any coercion.

I think we can assume "Kael is tempted" - though possibly not in exactly the way described.

Kael said:
Brigit is actually on the design doc for "Shaodw" but it hasnt been implemented yet. There is a function I need for it to work they way we designed it that hasnt been created yet.

I quite like the ideas for her as described, but don't want to conflict with something Kael has planned already.

Well, it'd be a bit silly if Vehem made Brigid a leader, and you were then able to run out and free yourself. Or worse, have one of the OTHER civilizations free you and begin taking over your cities with their highly promoted YOU.

what i meant is that Brigid's branch of the clan enters the game as soon as she is freed... so she wouldn't be able to free herself, unless someone went in and cheated.

Interesting option, but I think I'll still wait to see what Kael has planned :D
