[BTS] 43 Religions

Do they have their own monastry , temple , cathedral ?

No

I am rethinking the list now, and I used Total Realism's building for Zoroastrianism with the Woc. I made a movie for Zoroastrianism in the WoC as well, but maybe it is not perfect. I plan to have only one movie per major group. Next I plan to do reskins of the building of the group to represent each denomination. Anyway if anyone has any other ideas let me know, but I plan on starting a new thread when I have the stuff modular.

Here is the list I think now.

Well I am working with the WoC at the moment on some art. But I am need of help for SDK as well if anyone is interested in this idea. I am looking for a second automatic spreading religion layer, and some way of having denominations.

I would also like schisms and religion decay. I plan to handle the founding of denominations through events. As for the folk beliefs that would be in the second layer most would require a prerequisite civilization before being founded.

Now as for holy cities I was thinking of not adding any more just having one per religion as in game now. Anyway if anyone is interested just let me know. Until I have some SDK changes this is on hold.

I might suggest a better symbol for the Native American religions. Many of them have a four directions/four colors schema at the core of their philosophy, though the colors associated with the directions differ with the tribe/ region. I have seen a circle divided into quadrants with the four different colors used as a generic symbol for Native American religions.

I am also a Baha'i and so can say with authority that a Baha'i temple's are stylistically diverse (see for example the Lotus shaped temple in New Delhi, India compared to the Mother Temple of the West in Wilmette, Illinois) yet all must have a nine-sided design. This symbolizes the unity of all religions (though it does not mean there are only nine recognized prophets or religions as some people have thought). The special building should (probably) be the Shrine of the Bab which exists in Haifa, Israel.

Well it is nice finding more adherents for info. I have no one to fill me in on Baha'i. I was thinking of putting Baha'i in group with Iranian religions. Then later using some similar looking buildings as the Iranian religions.

I am still looking for help with the SDK if anyone is interested. Otherwise nothing is really happening with this.

Too bad.. the link seems to be broken on the first page :(.

Just an update Mr. Genie figured out how to increase the TGA to 125 spots for all religions and corporations combined in the WoC. That equals 62 religions and corporations total possible. Later it is planned to try and make the religion and corporation screens scrollable. And of course in the WoC the religions are modular.

Too bad its only possible under WOC I was planning on combining this with VD.

Is there any capacity to pick and choose or is this an all or nothing deal?

Im not sure whats been changed since the religion screen-shot by heres a thought for the Christians.
Grant Catholicism an upturned cross [St. Peter] and retitle it Trinitarian [In opposition to Arianism].
Make the Fish Catholicism as all that means is the true Christian church [both the Roman and the Coptic churches call themselves the catholic church.] and have it the first Christianity.
not sure how it works, but if its doable the Byzantine flag from the 1000ad scenario would fit as a Coptic or Arian symbol.
just some thoughts, no worries.

Sikhism is not a form of Hinduism. It's its own thing, and is in the top six religions in the world, in terms of population. It did evolve from a combination of Advaita Hinduism and Indian Islam, but it has its own texts, its own traditions, its own rituals.

The folks in _Bend it Like Beckham_ were Sikhs, not Muslims nor Hindi.
