[BtS] Diversica

Decided to upload the patch now. It is larger than my usual patches as I included the latest version of Cultural Citystyles whereas my other patches only changed xml issues. I did this as I had some minor issues with 0.90 of CC which seem to have been fixed in 0.95.

umm three things:

where do i download the patch?
and what's the point of having austria and the holy roman empire if they're identical? shouldnt Austria have a rifleman UU and maybe a customs house UB
also the second ethiopian leader description in the civilopedia is empty..is this a glitch or is it just incomplete?
thanks

Follow the link of the word 'patch' in my post you quoted :)

and what's the point of having austria and the holy roman empire if they're identical? shouldnt Austria have a rifleman UU and a sort of church UB?

I just did not like HRE as a civ at all, it felt like it had too much overlap with Germany, so I decided to use the next best thing (imo) and replace it with Austria (which is the big part of HRE which is not Germany). I tried to keep it close to the HRE in the other aspects though, hence the same UU and UB.

also the second ethiopian leader description in the civilopedia is empty..is this a glitch or is it just incomplete?

will have to check that, he should have a text

lol i know that, i meant to where do i download it in the mod (what folder?)
also, if i just move the charlemagne LH into the austria folder, will charlemagne be a leader for austria?
seems like a waste of a good LH when he is in HRE

ah ok, just extract it in Civ4/BtS/Mods, it includes the mod dir (i.e. Diversica)

He would, but then Polands Casimir already is a reskinned Charlemagne (different color clothes, otherwise very much the same), so you are not really missing that LH :)

ah ok thanks again!
i'll let you know if i come across anything else

Argh, there still were some problems with the Carter Earth maps (stupid typo), so I had to upload another patch to fix that (as always, the patch is cumulative). Get it here.

yes! that last patch did it!

now i can finally play it^^
thanks again for all your help, as always will be on the lookout for more bugs

Hello

I thought that I would give this mod a try and so downloaded the 1.70 version from the first post. I installed it and it lauched fine to the main screen - all good so far.

I then exited the game and so applied the 1.70b patch - easy enough to do.

I can now no longer start the game as it will crash each and every time before it loads...

All I did was to tick the option, during the initial install of 1.70, to add "Additional Unit Type".

So I completely removed the mod and then repeated the process - this time downloading the 1.70b from the post made on this page rather than on page 1, just in case there is any difference.

However I get the same crash again.

Am I doing something obviously wrong here, albeit not that obvious to me.! :)

Hm, dealing with all the install options in one patch is tricky it seems

Go to Assets\Modules\ and delete the subdir FutureUnits, that should fix the problem.
Before doing so, check that FutureUnits\Units only contains one subdir (Gunpowder), if there are multiple ones I am on the wrong track.

Thanks for your prompt reply and solution :)

Deleting that folder resolved that issue but now I get...

and...

I get two more errors as well relating to the above files. The game will load but there is no user interface and further errors are produced...

EDIT: To save you a lot of time and work I decided to remove the mod and then do a complete, rather than a selective install. This allowed your latest patch to work a treat and all seems well.

Thanks for your help and this mod :)

the game crashes around the time when people begin using axes/spears/swords why is this?

Usually a crash is an indication that some graphics definition is wrong (typo). Do you have a savegame that crashes ? Did you apply the latest patch ?

Personally I did not have any crashes yet, but then I did not necessarily see all civs and all units either (although I doubt there are any typos as I usually check when adding a new unit).

Huhh
I came here to report some bugs and missing graphics, but then realized, that I didn't apply the latest patch indeed.
Your previous post was a perfect answer. How did you know? ;)

how do you apply the latest patch? (i already downloaded it)

i did that already.

im not home right now, but when i get there i 'll try to upload a savegame.
thanks again for helping^^

Mamba has indicated that he wants Leaderhread Personalities... so he shall get them. :D

I actually just posted these on The Capo's thread, but I'll post them here again for your convenience.

This was the post from The Capo's thread:

Alright, let's do the Leaderhead Personalities dance.

First off is Abu Bakr. I based him off Huayna Capac (religion, military expansion) and added aspects of Augustus Caesar (Abu Bakr was the one who really started things rolling with the Islamic Empire, just like how Augustus really started things rolling with the Roman Empire (as opposed to the Republic)) as well as Charlemagne (religion and military and some learning thrown in).

Second off is Nasser. I based him off Mao (even though both have mixed legacies, they did bring their nations/culture/group/whatever up and gave their people a sense of pride again), and added aspects of Sitting Bull (for some reason I thought he'd fit in...) as well as Bismarck (er...).

Third is Maurits van Nassau. I based him off Boadicea (he fought a good rebellion against Spain), and added aspects of Mansa Musa and Joao (ka-ching!, and the Dutch exploring thingy).

Well, that's that, then.

You can either download them from The Capo's thread, or click on the links here:
