For the updated installer (i.e. next release) I am still waiting for a few additions before calling it a release, mostly the next version of Cultural Citystyles.

A zip is now uploaded to Filefront.
 
Nice one! That did the trick. Just wondering: is there a way to play BTS original with no interface or gameplay changes, only the different units from your mod?

You won't be able to do much about the interface, there is no way to remove BUG (unless you do so manually). Other than that, if you were to not select any options (but the core mode) in the installer, that is what you would get.

Instead of deleting these dirs, you could simply disable them in the MLF files by setting <bLoad>0</bLoad> for their subdirs.
 
Thanks for that information Mamba. I'll give various strategies to install this great mod a go as well. I'm still on an old 2 Gig MB box that runs out of resources if I add too much.

So far so good. There was a pinky square for hanging gardens. The button art went missing somewhere. I just put the old button back below:

Hm, that button should have been fixed in 1.70b. Unpack that over the Diversica mod and see ifthat solves it (I thought 1.70b was in that pack already...)
 
Yeah, that stupid unpacker did not overwrite the files, it created new ones.

So delete everything with *_1.* and replace the 'regular' files with the corresponding files from the patch 1.70b.

I really want to play Diversica, but I've had a ton of problems.

I downloaded the installer, but because I have the Steam version of the game it does a registry check for a key I don't have. Even though my game is at version 3.19, the installer thinks otherwise because a reg key not part of my install is missing; I tried to fake it but it didn't work.

So I downloaded the zip file of Diversica, but if I drop that in the mods folder it doesn't even boot with a shortcut and I can't load it from the game itself, it hangs at "Init XML" and subsequently crashes.

I have no experience with RevolutionsDCM or WoC, but I installed both anyway trying to troubleshoot this. What am I doing wrong?

RevDCM did install correctly, i.e. find your registry keys ?

I think you're misunderstanding the key issue, I never had a registry key, no Steam user does.

Steam's version of Civ 4 does not make the same entries in the computer's registry (what you access with regedit). This means that the installer, which checks if your Civ 4 is patched, thinks it isn't because it doesn't find that patch key, even though the game is patched up, it just didn't make that entry in your registry files because Steam patched it automatically.

The new RevDCM installer did no such check, and it worked fine.

After completely reinserting the unzipped folder, and uninstalling WoC and RevDCM it worked. The hang on the Init XML was long, but I found that if you mess around while it loads (on Win 7) it crashes. I'll just leave my mouse and Keyboard alone from now on.
One final question. I'd love to play this in conjunction with GEM (Giant Earth Mod), any way I can do that?

The previous RevDCM did the same checks my current installer does. When I release the next version of my mod I will have upated the installer to the new RevDCM logic. That is why I wanted to know if RevDCM worked for you.

Just looked into the map files, they use some IDs my mod does not know of, e.g.
CIVILIZATION_AUSTRALIA. There is no Australia in my mod.

If you make sure that the ARTSTYLE_, LEADER_ and CIVILIZATION_ IDs actually exist, it should work.

Basically check the following entries for each civ

LeaderType=
FlagDecal=
WhiteFlag=
CivType=
Color=
ArtStyle=

I have been a fan of the Diversica mod for a while but my hard drive recently crashed and had to be replaced. I reinstalled the game and re-downloaded the mod, but now when I try to run it, I get to the Diversica background screen but the main menu is missing, leaving me no choice but to close the program via ctrl/alt/delete. Any ideas why this would be happening or how to correct it would be greatly appreciated, as the generic BtS game is boring by comparison.

Yeah this mod adds a lot of load onto the computer. For example on one of my machines it will load up perfectly on a small map on an old 2GRAM machine. If I take the mod to a beefed up computer that has 4GRAM and set it to a huge map, it will crash (CTD). I'm only guessing but I think there is an interaction between this mod and your machines hardware/video drivers that can cause it to wipe out. The machine that crashes has a 9800GT too, but a huge screen resolution and only 512MB video memory.

If you cannot explain why yours crashes (CTD), experiment with lowering your screen resolution, and/or selecting small maps and or updating your video drivers etc. Compare your results with a lower resource mod like RevolutionDCM that this mod is based on.

No idea really. I assume you did upgrade to 3.19 ?

Which version did you install (the latest one) ?
 
Yeah, I upgraded to 3.19 as soon as I reinstalled the game and DLed Diversica 1.70. Is there a previous version of the mod somewhere available for download? Because I'm pretty sure I had an older version when it used to work, although I don't know what would be causing such an error or if installing an earlier version would even make a difference.

Well, version 1.50 was the first version with a dll (before that, it was only the WoC version which used one). In version 1.70 I switched to RevDCM from the WoC Lite dll. In theory either switch might cause your problems, something else might just as well however (I have no reason to believe it is the dll unless you were not on 3.19).

Did you install the patch (1.70b) ?
 
Some of my units have action buttons that they aren't supposed to, like Sentry for Naval Units on an archer. I accidentally clicked one and the game crashed. Any way I can fix this? Thanks.
