[BtS] "Extra"

Martin79, (and anyone else who cares to), just uncheck the space race as a victory condition. I know it takes alittle away from the game, but it does allow you to play the future era longer.

I don't think there are any official mods that cover the stone age, but I could be wrong. I'd very much like a Stone Age myself :).

The original rules of the mod are nice but if they are limiting it might be time for you to move on and base a new mod on the current base. You can then make whatever changes you like. I say so because I think your modding abilities are quite good and you should put them to work on something that can be even more exciting than Extra.

I doubt it...

I don't want to edit 'core features' of the game, but it's very easy to assign the spaceship parts to later technologies if you want to.

I can't find the "spaceship parts" in the XML, is it in buildings info folder?

@Martin79: You can edit this file: Assets\XML\GameInfo\CIV4ProjectInfo.xml

@Kalimakhus: Thanks, I'll give it some thought ^^.

Fixing a few bugs that came with the Final Frontier upgrade...
I have a problem though, and wonder if anyone can help. I can't get the Capital Shipyard to appear in the water properly.. When I give it LSYSTEM_COAST, it will cause a bug with the Arcology Shields (they will blow up). When I give it LSYSTEM_HARBOR or something, it will get exactly the same graphics as the Harbor. Anyone has an idea?

Edit: I've encountered another bug. The Workshops seem to disappear from the world map after a while. Has anyone else experienced this and knows what causes it?

Chiyu, History in the Making starts, I believe, at 6000 BC - so pretty much Stone Age.:goodjob:

All bugs are fixed, so I've started working on some new features for the upcoming version. These include:
- 4 new religions (I might implement that modcomp to limit them)
- a few new leaders (from Road to War)
- the Mamlukes (they are pretty complete, with a unique building, unique unit and original flag) and maybe another civ
- editing the content from Final Frontier, since I'm not 100% happy with it yet

You should check out Bmarzmod as he does a good job of including all the religions without limiting them. It should be on the first or second page of this part of the board.

I believe those religions would be:

1. Zoroastrianism
2. Shinto
3. Hellenism
4. Amun-Ra

Will you upgrade the VD component to 3.3 btw?

Actually, you got the list ALMOST right. Shintoism is (sadly) not in any Civ4 mod so, I decided to take Norse Mythology instead, for the simple reason that it has been very influential in modern (gaming) culture and because Odin rules.

Now that you mention it.. I do see a lot of similarities between MarnzMod and Extra, haha. But I don't think I should take it over since it goes beyond the limits of this mod, basically. However, I'm downloading it right now to see if there's anything I can borrow, so to speak.

By the way, does anyone know a good name for Norse Mythology? I mean, "Norse Mythology" sounds kind of stupid for a religion. Just like Egyptian Mythology became Amun-Ra and Greco-Roman Mythology became Hellenism. Something like that.

Norse-ism? Ragnarok?

Basically Bmarzmod took your mod, added a few of Amra's civs, and added Wolf's new naval units(which add alot to the game btw) and added new religions, and revamped the early game techtree. He also added an earlier version of VD 1.8 i believe. It was a great mod.

If you were to take anything from Bmarz mod I'd go for the ships(Ironclad Cruiser for example, all from Wolf's mod). I know they aren't in any official firaxis scenerio but they really would add alot to Extra, its worth the exception to the rule.

The Norse gods were called Asen, their overlord Odin - wouldn't call it Odinism though...;)
