[BtS] "Extra"

For some reason, I keep getting a long string of errors when trying to load the mod.

errorpdp.jpg

All of them XML errors.

Ah, I see what I did wrong.
Didn't notice that Lords required Nostalgia. Crap...

I would like to congratulate you on the musics in this mod- especially the Iriquois. However, why do the musics for the Native North American civs always turn into the vanilla 'native american' music in the Middle Ages?

I may be overly cautious here, but I request permission to release an earth 18 4000 BC map for Extra, featuring the Italians, Apaches, Tupi, and Iroquois as new civs, deleting Mongols, Persians, Americans, and Romans.

If it doesn't take long, can somebody merge RevDCM with Extra?

You don't need "permission" to upload your own creation. (Unless it's your first ever release, which requires a Moderator's approval after you've uploaded.)

Meanwhile, 1066 AD for Chiyu's Extra has passed its first 100 downloads.;)

http://forums.civfanatics.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=11952

Its not the first file, it depends on your post-count. After 50(?) posts, there is no more mod queue.

Also, as smeagolheart says, he was asking Chuyi for permission.

Thx for the correction - but you still don't need "permission": most original creators would agree that giving credit where credit is due will be quite sufficient (although when you make a minimal adjustment to someone else's creation permission from the creator would be the way to go, obviously).

I don't mean to bother, as this is likely my own fault; I merged the BUG Mod with the Extra Mod and apparently every time the AI tries to build an inquisitor, the game crashes, leaving me a ton of these messages in the PythonErr file:

UnboundLocalError: local variable 'PyPlayer' referenced before assignment
ERR: Python function AI_chooseProduction failed, module CvGameInterface
Traceback (most recent call last):

File "CvGameInterface", line 180, in AI_chooseProduction

File "CvGameUtils", line 304, in AI_chooseProduction

I don't expect everyone to try and solve this but is there a trick to solving it?

Hi Chiyu,

can you chance please the effect from the Ishtar Gate to the effect from tsentom's? Here is a link what tsentom's Ishtar Gate does. http://forums.civfanatics.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=11839

I never use the effect of airlift, because I never had a single unit to transport from this city.

please don't change it! It is excellent for taking over another continent.

Also, tsentom's version is similar to the current Tower of Babel.

I love this mod. One thing though - I don't think the Cure for Cancer or the Theory of Evol projects are working properly (no text by them either).

With Bug-Mod I have no interface at F1, F2 .... Sometimes I have no interface in the game too.

this happens with some mods when you are using Civ Complete, rather than the 3 seperate disks.

(Extra and RoM work for me, but most of the others do not)

there is a way to get around it here

http://forums.civfanatics.com/showpost.php?p=5541383&postcount=3

it's about the 12th question.

of course, if you aren't using the Civ Complete DVD, it'll be something else.

@Taminent/PreLynMax/mjdh1957:
I will look into that bug. Most likely I'll just give Judah, Austria, the Iroquois and Phoenicia the same colour as respectively Persia, Russia, America and Rome, so at least the game knows that the colours are the same. And then, if both civs are present in one game, it should automatically change switch to another colour instead :).

@smeagolheart:
Good point. It'd probably be better to just push the time victory a century or two ahead for Extra. What do you think?

@Darkhon:
Good to hear that you had such a nice game with the mod ^^.

@Sword of Geddon:
Yeah, the next add-on will be one with an updated future era. The future era, even with the technologies from Final Frontier and Next War, still feels a little bland at the moment. It needs a few more essential technologies and assets :).

The gaps of missing technologies have already been filled with the Nostalgia add-on, in my opinion. I don't want the existing eras to get many new technologies than there already are.

As for an expanded past.. I'm not sure. I think it would be too much of a change for the core gameplay, since you'd have to do the start of the game completely different. Many old strategies would no longer work ;/.

@DavidB1111:
Yeah, I love the current Flavian Amphitheatre too :). It's one of my favourite wonders to build.

@CHEESE!:
Because I don't have any unique music for the native empires in the Middle Ages :P. If anyone has some suitable tracks, feel free to pass them on ;). And indeed, you don't need my permission if you want to make a map for Extra. In fact, I always appreciate it if people make additional content for Extra :). I'd be happy enough with some credit, like JEELEN said.

@Karl-Heinz:
The effect of tsentom's Ishtar Gate is already present in the mod, as the Tower of Babel. On top of that, personally I find my effect for Ishtar Gate quite useful, in a city that produces many troops. Or, like Liszt said, for colonizing another continent ^^.

@Liszt:
I'm pretty sure the Theory Of Evolution is working, as I always get a great person when I build it. It may appear as a 'normal' great person though. Cure For Cancer 'should' work properly too. Can anyone else confirm this?

@strategyonly:
Very soon. You can expect some new content within a week :).

:eek: you're alive :goodjob:

Chiyu,
Please , if you will, take a moment to look at the REVOLUTIONDCM mod!
It has a fine core of interesting features that would work well with EXTRA.
Every time I play one or the other mod, I wish that they shared features.
I hope i'm not the only one who feels this way and desires a merge (please speak up to let Chiyu know if you agree).
Thank you for creating and maintaining this impressive mod.
The EXTRA mod is the reason I continue gaming regularly to this day.
I appreciate you and the care you continue to give,
Rightfuture

I had another go last night (an epic battle - costing 4 hours and two bottles of wine), and the Theory of Evolution did indeed produce a GP - so I might have been wrong before - sorry.

The text is missing though - I didn't know what it was supposed to do until you mentioned it (still don't know what the cure for cancer does).
