Bug reports and technical issues

Some UHCs aren't displayed properly. However, that's not a problem if you win :D.

Uh, scrap all the previous thing I wrote. Let me write it again...

Turn 1280 AD, Indonesia 600 AD.
I wasn't the civilization with the highest population. It was Arabia and it's true.
At the same turn, here's the population of the most populous Civilization:
- Arabia (76)
- China (57)
- Byzantine (50)
- Indonesia (49)
- HRE (40)
- France (37)
- Mughal (32)
- England (29)

I WB some of the most populous cities in Arabia and now according to the population screen, the highest population civ is Byzantine. I then do the same to Byz and the highest population now is France. I then WB the same to France, also England and HRE to shorten the time. The highest population civ now is China. I do the same to China and now the highest population is Mughal. Only after I change the total of my population to 53, I win the #1 UHV. Note that the highest populated city in Mughals was Delhi (12) and after I WB my capital to 13, 1 more of Delhi, from originally 9 (therefore totalling 53) it checked YES.

^^ Notice the order of changes in Victory Screen and the total of all civ population as of turn 1280 AD. I count with calculator so I can't be miscalculate ._.

Note that because this is in the same turn, no more cities get conquer/get conquered. My methodology is by seeing the Victory Screen, Open WB, Close WB, See Victory Screen, Open WB, Close WB and so on...

Also when I'm trying to replicate I got the following error message:

Error in kbdEvent event handler <bound method CvRFCEventHandler. on KbdEvent of <CvRFCEventHandler. CvRFCEventHandler instance at 0x17A2E0F8>>

I can't see the UHV #2 and UHV #3. It only shows partial UHV #1.

Oh, and also, Mongolia died the turn they spawn and I saw a Byzantine Cataphract in Kara Korum that turn. Should also put this in OMG I think...

I don't know, but may be it's depending on demographics population, instead of total city size. realistic population is calculating very different

Oh demographic population in the statistic screen? Never thought about that! Could be true.
But then how's the strategy? You have any idea how that's calculated?

Big cities. 1 size-10-city has the same amount of inhabitants as 8 size-5-cities.
(10^3 = 1000, 5^3=125)

When you spawn (700 AD), the formula to calculate the inhabitants is citysize^3*1000. (But this formula might be era-dependent)

yep strategy is, 15 pop + 5 pop city is better than two 10 pop -balanced- city
china's cities have bigger sizes in avarage, but byzantium has constantinople, and france has paris or rome it seems; if you have overlapping tiles, give them to the bigger city, only additional strategy to your previous strategy imo
and, I didn't know the formul too, thanks merijin :D

In my Egypt game, the 1st UHV goal (500 culture in turn 84) failed after reload (was accomplished). And in my Babylon game, the tech goal failed after reload too. There must be something wrong...

There is a problem saving UHCs. I confirm.

Spoiler :
From the game's internal code:
Spoiler :

# must not be dead
if not pPlayer.isAlive():
return

Ok, so far, but let's see the next lines:

Spoiler :
# I mean it
if pPlayer.getNumCities() == 0:
return

:lol::lol::lol:

I desperately want to save this game. It crashes, but I have no clew what to do. The game is killed. No error meassges, no log files... :sad: SVN586

Anything that will make the game no to crash will help.

I don't know exactly what was causing the problem. Upon hitting end-turn I got a CTD just like you did.

But I reloaded and did a whole bunch of trading for techs, gold and gold-per-turn deals and was able to then hit end-turn without CTD. You really should do a lot more trading, I was able to earn well over 1000 gold, trade for over +40 gold per turn in deals and trade for Patronage, Divine Right, Economics and Liberalism.

Here is the save from the start of the next turn.

Thanx a lot for the extreme makeover :goodjob:. I don't trade, because I'm afraid of making them too advanced.

No problem.

At the very least you should trade techs with your vassals.

Trade for Tibet's world map, then trade it for cash to every other civ (not just your vassals). That won't make them any more advanced, but will earn you some good coin.

Well, I can't avoid the CTD after some turns. It will find you earlier or after. In a Thai game I tried to alter many times my strategy but the ghost of CTD always found me. However, I dePythoned the mod and found this instead of a CTD. Hope it helps.

Trust me man, trading techs can more then double your tech rate. Really, trade techs.

Agreed. I am careful about trading techs with the nation that is closest in tech parity to me (assuming that I have the lead over the AI), but otherwies have no issues trading as much as possible with anyone else.

I trade techs in a way Mansa Musa would be ashamed of. Even in DoC where the AI constantly rips you off with tech trades, it's still advantageous.

CvRandomEventInterface.py

This file caused the CTD...(:mad::lol::sad:)
...OK, I can do without random events I supose.

I hope this solution be eternal.

Some bugs to report:
Spoiler :

Greece has declared war on !

I recall this sort of bug in the distant past, but I thought it was eventually sorted. Anyway, it has definitely re-appeared.

Also, when Egypt founded their fourth city, the announcement said that they founded Xou. Which they clearly did not.
