Bug Reports

I haven´t checked in the latest version, but there is no city screen icon for cotton (the smallest one that appears in the cities luxuries list).

If you haven´t got one, do you want me to do it? It should be a small resize of the bigger version...

In RFCW v119 playing as the Germans, it is 1946 AD and it says "Not Yet" for completing the tech tree (I'm on future tech and everyone else is waay behind me). And it also says Not Yet for conquering England, France & Scandanavia by 1900 (which I did).

Python exception that appears (if they're not hidden) when the "greatest civilizations" popup(s) appear:

i don't know how to add an icon without replacing an existing one. If you know, please tell me

I'm sorry for the 1900 goal, I noticed I made another mistake there.
As for the third goal, the code seems in order, so I need your savegame of before 1946AD to see what's wrong. I will set your 1st goal to 1 too.

Don't know if this has been fixed in 1.23W (I just started downloading the new version), but in 1.19W, several events are not written to the event log. This includes the rebirth of a nation and the city trading during councils. The texts for those events are displayed on the screen, but they don't get written to the log, so there's no way to look them up when you missed something.

Saves e-mailed.

i didn't get them. Are you sure the email was written correctly?

well honestly I don't know how to do that. Are you aware of any other mods that adding custom events are writing in the log too? In this case, I'd take a look...

The HOF mod writes a lot into the event log, like the warning "settings incompatible with HoF rules", or a notice that you founded a city, or a notice that one of your cities will grow next turn, or did grow, etc.

I'm not sure how easy it is to read / learn from their code though.

that's not my primary mail. Mine is

I´ll post it here again: The "You attacked our independent friend!" issue is still present.

If for some reason you can´t avoid it, I would recommend a different approach: Make the malus temporary. How temporary is up to you, but that will resolve the problem and also make it more logical. It´s silly when in the modern age civs still hate you for your attack in the stone age on another civ (independent or not).

So if you attack everything is sight, especially independents, you will get a malus with peaceful civs, but you can recover from them in time. I think that my idea would be better since it will add another strategy layer to attacking independent states, since you will consider the temporary malus before attacking one ind. state after the other.

Another issue: With China the Pagoda/Academy requirement was checked by 1050AD, not 1000AD.

Yep, new game with the Chinese. I even have a save in which I don´t have the malus with Cyrus, and when I attack a neighbouring independent I get a -1 with Cyrus for attacking his friend.

To be clear, did you remove the malus against independents or did you made it temporary for all?

I did a small mod pre-2.08 that changed that malus so it appeared when you attacked someone the civ has a friendly relationship, not pleased, and left it permanent. So it is harder to get, but when it´s there, it´s there for good. Besides it makes more sense, since it´s "You attacked our FRIEND", not "our PLEASANT neighbour" ;)

With this change, we won´t see anymore the independent friend issue, but the general number of maluses would decrease. But it won´t be such a bad thing, since in RFC is harder to get bonuses, due to the incresed open borders threshold. This last change was made in one of the core files. If you want I can point you to it. :)

Oh, about the cotton. Where is the file with the small icons? It is a gridlike one, isn´t it? Thanks!

the icons are in GameFont.tga and GameFont_75.tga, but the problem is how to make the game point at the new icon coordinates.

Regarding the independents, I simply bounded the 2 nested for with 22 (max number of major civs) so that indep. aren't taked into consideration

For some reason it didn´t work...

Problem with Greek UHV that I may have mentioned before. The second HV (build Parthenon,Colossus,Great Lighthouse before 1400?) doesn't register.I completed the last wonder at least 20 turns before the required time but nothing happened. After circumnavigating, I'm given a Triumphal Arch in Athens.Sorry if I brought this up before Rhye but if you have any idea what's wrong, give me some info.Unsure of how to upload gamesaves over 500kb so any help would great.
