C2C Italian translation

Hi guys
yesterday I updated my SVN version and I had a really strange thing
before the update, almost every building had a text entry, being it in italian or (more commonly) in english; only 10-20 buldings were unnamed.
After the update, a lot of text entries have vanished in-game, even if the gametext is still present in the files.
this occurred not only to buildings, but also to some units

for example, all text for megafauna units have vanished, the same for biopunk, clockpunk, post-apocalipse, dieselpunk units and buildings, almost every animal units, all the new-religious buildings (excluding christian, buddhist and so on) and many more

can someone explain me how it happened?

Where does this show up in game? In the pedia entries??

both in the pedia and in-game (it's almost unplayable now, I know what to build only because I recognize the icons). The strange thing is that the gametext in the files is present

If you set your language to English does it still happen? (not suggesting this as a solution, just o try to see if it's related to selected language at all)

I tried your suggestion: with english the problem goes away, but with all other languages (german, french, italian, spanish) this problem is present

That's interesting - that suggest someone may have modified the translation code that retrieves the correct strings...I'll ask around

There is another possibility - someone may have added a unit, building, etc. etc. without all 6 of the language tags. Probably just the English. This has been known to cause problems in C2C and some other mods.

Edit I am looking at the text now, one of the entries had its lines split which usually just makes it unreadable but this time the split was inside a format tag (eg [LINK]). I did not look to see which language it was - I will post the fixed version soon after I check the recently updated files.

I had the same problem with French Strings :

Some Platyping addition were only with English tags (Helsinski, Reichstag,...) - I think I corrected all on my last update (4763)

@Hale_9204 : can you confirm it works now ?

I can't do an update yet, I started a download of the SVN, but the file which had the broken format tag was from the data Hale_9204 reported so it could be the problem. It is CIV4GameTextChanged_BTS in the XML/Text. I have attached it (compressed) for you to try.

Finally I'm back with new translations
here ya go!

Note: they're all from the folder ..../XML/Text
Note(2): @ those of you playing in italian I did a mistake with properties like disease and pollution, they now show in-game as TXT_KEY_..... I will fix this in the next few days

I had some trouble with these, I hope I have not broken the French translations while transfering the Italian ones. Some of the English wording changed significantly so I did not include your translations then.

There were two main problems

1) the French translation was in the SVN version but not yours. I think I caught all of those

2) Some English text was changed so your translations were no longer correct. Again I think I caught all of them.

Prehistoric_CIV4GameText.xml was one and the Stone Age one another but the French translations were across most of the files.

I still have a local copy of all my french translations, I'll check if all is alright on my next merge.

some more done

I almost finished the folder XML/Text, and I did some typo fixes in lots of the files of this folder
let me know if everything works fine

PS do you know who did the prehistoric techs like oral traditions, sedentary lifestyle, cultural identity and so on? they're the only techs I haven't translated yet

I think that the correct translation is:
-Tradizione orale
-Stile di vita sedentario
-Identità culturale
respectively ;)
