Simply,...sublime. :smoke:

I might well see a package when I get home today.

*cough, cough* I seem to be coming down with something... might not be in tomorrow... *cough, ;) cough*

C3C today. Running it on 400mhz cube so far and not a glitch. It's my parents cube, I usually come over once a week to update the cube and keep it running so I thought I would try run C3C on it. It even said "we don't support anything below 500mhz". Thanks Brad it runs excellent, even on this way out of date cube. I haven't tried the function mentioned in the other thread in the mac forum. Will have to go try it now. Going to civ away the night i think.

Ironically, while I have received no package, I am feeling like absolute **** today. And we're having a meeting this afternoon... sometime TBD when Mike the Late gets in. Show up already so we can have this meeting and I can go home!!!

Even though Amazon.com shipped via USPS, I found C3C waiting for me when I got home today! :D

I've played Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri for some time and am happy to have a bit more up-to-date game, especially since this runs in Mac OS X directly instead of in Classic.

I'll let you all know how I like C3C once I have had some time to play it :-)

Hi all-
Don't know how the hunt is going for everyone else, but I picked mine up at smalldog this afternoon. Time to see what a great game Brad has put out for us!

And my local Apple store still doesn't have it

They're too busy selling iPods....

CompUSA and MicroCenter don't have it yet either....

Let us know, Wallyskier [and bwells, jallen, and waltham], so we may live vicariously through you in these lean times!

Well, if they don't answer anytime soon, we know they're having a good time.
:goodjob:

You lucky people! I doubt if it's even started out on the suicide curragh journey across the Atlantic yet :(

Alas, the gods are against me- I have company.
But.. I did sneak away to check C3C out and I must say, I am impressed. It loaded on my 700mhz Emac quickly and I found myself exploring the scenarios and other game functions. The WWII Pacific theatre looks like a real challenge as you only have the west coast for production. As a history buff I've always wanted to have my units named (504th PIR, 1st Infantry, etc etc) and in the Pacific, you don't have "carrier", you have the "USS Yorktown" to protect as well as the "1st USMC Defense Battalion" of Wake Island fame. I got sucked in quickly and had to bail to not be rude. I think I'm going to pull out of the Philipines right away and then build up, but I digress.
There are handy little controls on top of the info box to make it easy to cycle through units and move stacks. Back in the wargaming days of "Squad Leader" and "PanzerBlitz" the hardcore gamers had tweezers to move big stacks. This is the computer equivalent. I know a lot of people seem to complain about the interface being "clunky" but I've never had a problem with it.
Napoleon was up next and that's going to be fun as well. I never did play many scenarios on CivII but I am here. :) There's too much good stuff and since each scenario has unique units to add to the flavor, it makes it even more realistic.

Thanks Brad and all for a great game!:D

I may have to beat the mailman over the head with a large blunt object. No, make that a large sharp object.

My package arrived today. But he didn't feel like delivering it. Couldn't even be bothered to buzz up and ask if anyone was home to receive it, much less leave it at the management office like he's supposed to. Didn't even feel like leaving it downstairs in the mail room like he normally does. No, he just decided to not even bother and take it back to the post office. Which is a half-hour walk away. Where I can pick it up... the week after next.

P.S. If you're getting the impression that I am extremely ****ed off right now... congratulations! You're right.

Please say you're kidding!

Maybe, just maybe, he got wind of what he was carrying. ???

:wallbash:

:ninja: time!

If we get a note to say a mail package couldn't be delivered we are advised we can collect 3 or 4 hours later! What can possibly take two weeks?

Funny you should say that. I made an effort in my first game to send across a Persian curragh and it sunk just off the coast.(no joke) Then I saw your post and had to laugh. Hope your C3C makes it across to be delivered soon.

I'd love to. Unfortunately I'd be lying.

I'd like to know that myself. The note says it'll be available for pickup on the 24th, that's all I know.

Well, I also know that I intend to hie myself down there on Tuesday (Monday being a holiday this side of the pond) and do some serious yelling.

Also, my wife just reminded me of something I'd rather not recall. The last time we had a package that "couldn't be delivered" so we had to pick it up, they couldn't find it. We never did get that one, though it wasn't terribly important. THIS time, if they can't find it, they are paying to overnight another copy to me.

Note from Amazon in my email today:

Amazon UK said:
We are sorry to report that the following items have been delayed.

"Civilisation III Complete Collection (Mac)"

Our current estimate is that it will take an additional 1-2 weeks to
obtain these items for you.

We are sorry for any inconvenience this causes.

The suicide curragh sank, obviously. Wonder if the next one will make it :hmm:

I bet the mailman has a mac and noticed what was in the packet..
Funny you should say that. Over Christmas, there were a couple UPS delivery guys around here who were stealing packages. IIRC it was something like $10,000 of stuff. But since the addresses were gone, and the recipients didn't know what they were supposed to be receiving, they never managed to figure out who most of the stuff belonged to.
