C3C PBEM : Rise of Rome - scenario-based PBEM

Just a last desperate rally to win back the mainland, better to die fighting than running with the tail between the legs!

Lost all my cavalry, but no Roman counter attack.. I'm beginning to think the Romans don't really *like* to attack.. maybe the food in Africa doesn't become them ;)

Also wondering what happened to the force that landed in the Egyptian pocket..

turn for loulong

A. Had to do a healing turn. ...and what food? The place is freakin' desert! We have to import all our food from our beloved Italy (which is a long haul!)
B. They just made another landfall in Africa.

On the Macedon-Roman front here is the Roman landfall, about 20 units (now reduced a bit) made another surprise attack. We might lose Leptis Magna next turn, but decided against abandoning it, as we feel confident we will take it back :)

Ooopsie! Leptis Magna put up a feeble resistance and was conquered, but "the boys" went out of control when they remembered what the savage Carthaginians did to their homeland, and...well...the upside is that there will be some rubble for Archeologists to sift through 1600 years from now!
:mischief:

There were 5 Persian armies on the battlefield this turn. Now they are none.

Sent to Persepolis. One more turn to go and we are finished!

The bloodshed is still going strong. Fallen persian armies are immeadiatly replaced with two barnd new ones: Achaemenes III and Cyrus III :D Meanwhile our brave troops captured the city of Lowell and got an opening on Macedonian army and other troops of heavy cavalry near New Delphi. The city of herat and and Appolonia fell as well.

The game and the screenie are shiped to Carthago. :)

And here is yet another attack on Leptis Minor for the umpteenth time (that town has been destroyed and rebuilt about 5 times now!) The Romans like to make stacks of about 10 fire catapults, 30 pikes, and 30 cavalry, and then they move their stack of dooms along hills and mountains until a lot of blood has been spilt.. then we start all over again ;)

(Leptis Minor abandoned once more, fortunately it consisted of little more than a few tents and a mutual kitchen)

New (last ?) turn started

The Egyptians have eventually found a place where they can land on Roman soil to help our Carthaginian friends (which grants you a screenshot of which I gave so few). Not that we can make much difference but...

Indeed our power has been far from adequate (poor choice to make Egypt playable) and we survived only because we had good friends (all the more friends since they were busy somewhere else lol). We have thus decided that in this time of titans, small Egypt cannot survive by itself.

We have then decided to ask for the protection of Macedonia (from where our royal ancestors came anyway) over our people in Egypt. Neighbors, benevolent and strong enough to resist Rome, they are our only hope.

After all not only did we succeed in surviving but we even expanded towards Carthage, over Phoenicia, Kreta and Cyprus.
So we are not too disappointed. But we are willing to deprive violent Rome of reaching hegemony too easily.

Wow, talk about a supply-line chain going on there on the Roman coast towards Carthage! No wonder they keep taking poor Leptis Minor ;)

Do you have enough in that stack to take Artaxata?

Indeed. As RJ confirmed, this is indeed a supply line (I don't think he would have protected coasts with HC !!!). Nevertheless it blocked me for a few turns along the coast.

No way I can take the city (I don't have HC you know) but I can slow down his supply-chain, not that it would matter now anyway as the troops he will deploy are already in southern Spain/North Africa.

The unwelcome Egyptian "tourists" in Southern France have mostly been taken care of. They came with an large amount of baggage though: 14 Numids, 5 Fire Cats. 1 Horse. 1 Settler, and 1 Sword. 12 Numids were killed with only the loss of 1 Heavy Cav. If the game goes another turn, they should be cleaned up nicely...
Plundered Carthage's Ivory colony, far too late, of course!
