I think my score has stopped dropping (knock on wood).
Akots: no battle log but I am curious as to which of those ruins stewn about the landscape were once my towns and which were once your towns--the previous ruler didn't leave any notes.
Darius abandoned 2 cities which would have been captured by glorious hoplites and the third ruin must be another city of Persia razed by Scyth (more likely) or a Scythian city razed by Immortals (less likely). This I don't know. It is a pity that such gorgeous cities were abandoned. I assume they were whipped to death and then all remaining people slaughtered by their own ruler. Nobody survived.
I also suspect that he was whipping really heavily because I noticed many cities had their population decreased on the third turn after it occurred to the late Darius that he can trade the maps.
Thanks for the info, whipping is a fine art that should be practiced with care and exceedingly good timing--I recall having only used the whip on one citizen since I took the throne 9 turns ago.
