CAARmen's Asian Wrath- A HoI2 Mod34 AAR

Alright, back from my diplomatic incursion in Vienna, Salzburg, and London. Sadly, Austria doesn't seem too interested in Anschluss, but rest assured, it will happen. ;)

Anyways:

@potatokiosk: Sadly, the stupid god damned Mod won't allow us to ally with Germany normally, aka without cheats. Perhaps I could bend my rules a bit by allying once we get +200 relations, as thats a fair exchange with our small money supply. Also, I will send spies soon to deal with these leeches.

@Captain: Yes, they do.

@Dachs: Currently, something cringe inducing. Our current relations with the Allies and the United States are surprisingly bad, most with -47 or so relations. The Soviets obviously don't count, which leaves only Germany as a major naval power, and they won't be able to easily reach us anytime soon.

@kangaru:  I'll do that as soon as I get 5 spies for our counterintelligence network.

CAARmen's Asian Wrath
Chapter Two: Damned Spies and Unintelligence
April 2nd- September 13th, 1933

Now, I wish to reconvene our most glorious staff meeting after these months. Now, I will go in chronological order of the major events which may actually affect us, instead of those stupid national holidays that everyone else has that lowers dissent. First, I wish to say that we need more intelligence cabinet members, because every nation and their grandmother is sending spies into our glorious nation. Now obviously, these are all gawkers wishing to see our nation's famous riots, corrupt officials, and inept military, but these tourists block and restrict our horrible infrastructure, so we will execute all non-diplomatic foreigners following this meeting.

I wish to caution you particularly about the illegally separate Tibetans, who seem to enjoy sending monk spies to mock us, and these particularly determined Siamese spies, who are probably here to offer STD services. All Tibetans and Siamese are to be executed on sight for this treasonous activity. Also, the Shanxi are also determined to undermine our nation by sending spies such as their leader into our government, and I wish to execute him as soon as possible, if only he were not an actually effective military leader. I also wish to point our that the evil Mongolians, who probably have a new Genghis Khan, and the Tannu Tuvans, both of which are Soviet puppets, have tried to infiltrate our government. This is obviously the damned communists at work, trying to undermine our glorious corrupt government with slightly less crooked officials, that simply won't do!

Now, I've sent out a bunch of spies in retaliation to Japan, because, y'know, everything bad that happens to us comes from them obviously. Two spy rings managed to bypass the "Japanese Anime Convention", but one was sadly caught by otakus and formally chosen to watch This Torture Video. Anyways, I also propped up our counterintelligence agency with spies, but they are as inept as their agency's name implies, and so far have not managed to catch one measly spy ring.

That may or may not be related to our counterintelligence's codebook

Now for events in our boring world. I can say with full confidence that 3/4 of major events happening were either Scandinavians celebrating their constitutions, Communists celebrating their workers slaves, and various independence days. This is one reason I will execute foreigners, because they keep annoying me with messages of stupid holidays. Sadly, I cannot stop this flow, because embassies send us this spam with actually important foreign messages. The actual important events are listed below:

The US makes ownership of gold illegal to citizens because the president's wedding ring looks bad in comparison, the Japanese created an Osakan Metro which we must destroy, Indians rally behind a Gandhi Hunger strike (Possibly related to the lack of Gandhi souvenirs, Chileans 'Cree the Police' in their police investigations (whatever that means), Germany outlaws all non-Nazi political parties, and the Republican Spanish government got replaced by a right-wing party. (As if any other party could be more right-wing than the Republicans)

And finally, to research, of which we actually have SOMETHING to report. Firstly, the National CFC Works finished War Industry, and then finished the technology "Industrial Improvements". Secondly, the Dachs Arsenal finished Prioritizing Infantry. That was replaced by kang'an (tailless took over the city of Chang'An and renamed it this) researching a Basic Submachine Gun, which would help our military fight in cities. Finally, the Germanicus Military Academy finished research on WW1 Doctrines and then Deep Attack doctrines, which improved our morale by over 10%, a nice big leap, and our organization by 5%.

Industrial Research

Now, only Industrial Research actually had newly unlocked technologies. I won't delve into the older ones I mentioned. The new ones are Selective Processes, which boost our IC efficiency even more, Census, which gives us a Manpower boost, and Chemical industry, boosting our energy to oil conversion rate and opening up branches to get even more resources and better energy to oil conversion rates. Which one should be chosen? Also, look at the newly created tech sheet I have provided on our first page bulletin board under all your government positions to see the other techs and their effects we are able to research. I have even categorized them for you.

Situation at End of Staff Meeting

Now, choose your tech choices and decide our next course of action while I delve deeper into the CFC Whiskey Cabinet and have perpetual nightmares of Lefty in my dreams. :scared:

I'm Jos Ballenbak, I'm applying for the job as Japanese Surveillance Committee Chairman.

The Japanese make really good Zombie movies. I am certain I will make an adequate member to your council.

What blasphemy is this!?
What are movies and why does Japan have them and not us? Speak fool!

Since I believe our manpower is large enough at the moment, I urge others to choose Selective Processes so we have the cash to build our mighty war machine.

Films are cultural artifacts created by specific cultures, which reflect those cultures, and, in turn, affect them. Film is considered to be an important art form, a source of popular entertainment and a powerful method for educating — or indoctrinating — citizens. The visual elements of cinema gives motion pictures a universal power of communication. Some films have become popular worldwide attractions by using dubbing or subtitles that translate the dialogue.

The Japanese uses these films for propaganda use. For an example they could depict us as evil zombies plotting to take over the world.

Except for the zombie part, yes.

Ahh, films, I love films, but you still have not explained the movies. I must know why Japan has these so called, "Movies" and we do not.

Sir Carmen, I am interested in the full conquest of china, eliminating the puny subhumans of the south, north, and of course, the hated communists. Please consider me for a place in your great military.

Sir carmen, I am quite committed to the complete conquest of the asian theater. Please consider me for a position on your military staff.

Bruce57, I am General Germanicus12, Supreme commander of China's Military Forces. Before I can give you a position, I must know where you wish to serve. Naval, Air Force, or Army.

Pending approval from the esteemed Leader of the Chinese Nation, I am assigning you the temporary title of Lt. Colonel until you choose which branch to serve.

i believe that i will choose the Air Force. With death raining from the sky, our enemies will cower in fear!

Are movies not the same as films, or am I mistaken?

Luckily for the Chinese we have John Woo, Zhiyi Zhang and Chow Yun-Fat, however the Japanese have Ken Watanabe who proves a worthy actor.

Have we any knowledge on the state of the communist infantry? Do they have post-World War I yet?

I kind of gravitate towards Basic Cavalry but if we are falling behind the reds in infantry that might be more important to rectify.

Excellent! Glad to see this is still alive. :goodjob:

Oh and I have accepted Air Marshall bruce57 into our service.

I will take another job in our Chinese AAR, I will supervise all movie related things in China making a new Hollywood in Shanghai.

I is nice to see that our staff is expanding, welcome bruce57.

Due to a fever this weekend, I was unable to update this. :(

But I am feeling much better now, and will get cracking soon.

Oh, and Princescamp should choose which branch of our air force bruce57 should join, the 1st CFC Tactical (Bomber) Wing, or the 1st CFC Interceptor Wing.

CAARmen's Asian Wrath
Chapter Three: Look at Dem Techs!

(Time for a change in update status, it is now time for a day by day analysis of the situation.)

September 14, 1933

The Council of Gloom has agreed to research Selective Industrial Processes, which will improve our industrial efficiency by 2%. Every bit counts. Hopefully, that will slow the decline. Research responsibilities are being given to the Ballenbak Railway Company. The Railway Company is also to be given a contract to build up infrastructure in the Hankou province where our Anti-Comintern Army is located. This infrastructure is needed to provide full supply benefits to our armies. I hope that one day, China's infrastructure will reach 100%, and then our armies will truly shine. The Dachs Arsenal was also put to work in researching Post-WW1 Infantry, so we may suck less on the battlefield. Even better, this technology unlocks militia and garrison units. The latter is useless for now, but the former will be extremely useful once we start their production. I have enclosed a picture of our research as of now:

Starting Two Techs I See...

October 10th, 1933

It is a day of celebration for our country! For absolutely no reason whatsoever, this day was marked as lucky or some crap. The good thing is, the people are so deluded this day that dissent has fallen by 2%! Must be smoking opium or something. The more important things we need to discuss are as follows: Between this day and September 14th, Yunnan tried to send a spy and failed, Mexico celebrated independence day, and most importantly, we secured trade deals with Yemen and Portugal, each trading 1.0 metal for 1.2 energy. Any little amount helps, and they're most friendly with us, surprisingly. We need new friends.

Event Description

October 23rd, 1933

Looks like our puppets are useful for more than just crappy military units. They actually, Thank You Lord, gave us the blueprint for Basic Submachine Guns! This tech drastically improves our capabilities in urban warfare, as well as giving a +1 Soft Attack to Infantry. Also, some more intelligence stuff. Chances were mixed. It is good to know we rid ourselves of one Communist traitor and one Indian from our inner circle, but there are swaths more spies out there. We failed to send a spy to Japan, but we did successfully send a spy to the Soviet Union without them noticing. Must be the vodka. Important events happening between this day and October 10th include Hispanic Day and Germany abandoning the League of Nations.

I Could Just Cry for Joy. *Sniff*

November 5th, 1933

Remember, remember the Fifth of November
The Carmenqing Industrial Plots
I know of no reason
Why the Industry
Should Ever Be Forgot

Yes, one factory has completed in Carmenqing, to the jubilee of the entire nation. Oh yeah, and some guy called Guy Fawkes has his own holiday in the UK, Bloody Brits. Nothing really happened in between this day and October 23rd really. No pics of today though.

November 20th, 1933

kang'An finished researching Basic Submachine Guns, instantly providing an attack boost to our soldiers. (It includes infantry, paratroopers, marines, garrisons, motorized, mountain, and mechanized infantry. Winnage) It is now time for you to choose our research path.

YES!!!

I will update the front page shortly to show what new research is available.
