Can you identify what these world maps represent?

Here are three new maps. One is easy. Two are difficult.

I guess Map 2 may be something to do with the French Foreign Legion;
bases or offices (blue dots) and recruitment (red countries).

Hmmm... Yes, it's well known there's a recruitment center of the French foreign legion ight in the middle of China. I'm sure the Chinese government would love that!
FYI, the recruitment center of the legion are all in France. No abroad recruitment.

Nice try, but you are very far from the answer.

I'll shoot for the easy one...

Map 3: The green countries are where the French army had their butt kicked. And the white ones are where they had their ass handed to them on a plate.

Spoiler :
:joke:

Does Map 1 have something to do with vegetation?

So, you think France was able to fight in the WHOLE world???

Does Map 1 have something to do with vegetation?
Not directly, but I guess vegetation has a a small impact on what is shown on the map

Rambuchan is getting closer with map 1. It has something to do with a disease, but not directly. It's not Malaria though. And it's not the number of death or incidents either.

Oh, and map one is the easy one (well, obviouly, the second map can't be the easy one, it could at the most be the easy two). The two others should be much more difficult...

Maybe it's about the density of mosquito bearers of malaria?
Almost! Except it's not malaria, it's not mosquito, and it's not the density. Otherwise, good job.

Is it Tsetse fly instead of mosquito and trypanosomiasis (aka sleeping sickness) instead of malaria?

Is it Tsetse fly instead of mosquito and trypanosomiasis (aka sleeping sickness) instead of malaria?
Getting closer! It is Tsetse fly, which are indeed bearer of trypanosomiasis.
But what is the colour for? It's directly related to tsetse fly, and not to the disease.

Tsetse fly population?

When I was growing up in Zambia I remember this fly being quite a problem (which makes me wonder why, if the map relates to this fly, it doesn't go further south). Whenever we flew in and out of Zambia, the air hostesses would come up and down the aisles with spray cans to kill any that might have made their way into the cabin. That spray stank like hell! But it was obviously a major concern.

Tsetse fly population?
Close enough. It's the number of Tse Tse fly species living in an area.

Perhaps they have been eradicated from Zambia since you left, and so it's no longer in the map?
