As a Canadian, I'd like to see us in Civ, but I know there wouldn't be a demand for it. It's too bad there couldn't be special versions of Civ for each of us, or an upgrade with nothing but extra nations for those who want to play the Canadians, Australians, Estonians, etc.

or make different version and put different civs in it and if you install part one and 2(not expansions) you can play as any of the teams in part 1 or 2 and play against teams of other parts of the game

Like Sweden and Norway and Sigur Ros are very similar and we call them Vikings and kill them off in the middle ages.
As part of a large scale expansion in the number of civs included in the game, yes, but otherwise, no. Actually, even with a large scale expansion of the number of civs in the game, Canada would be hard pressed to get in.

I've visited there a few times, love the place, but I'd lean towards no in terms of the country's influence on world history. Would you add the Aussies too? Although a UU of Mounties, a calvary with free Woodsman promotions would be cool, and maybe a UB of super Lumbermills.

In another thread I argued US shouldnt be in there. Former colonies with short history shouldnt be in the game imho. No matter what impact they had in the last 400 years.

Nothing like a beer slogan being one of the most recognizeable cultural icons to the residents of a country for a piece of evidence that it shouldn't be in a game like Civ
Maybe if the world starts carrying Tim Horton's mugs or giving a rat's ass about hockey - *maybe*... But for now, Canada is hardly a pawn in the chess game of history. The fact that there are other questionable choices in there doesn't mean that we deserve to be in Civ, just that there are civs in there that don't.

I am going to sum up both most points in this thread, and my general opinion.
Canada in the years 1500-1850 not that relevant just a colony of Britain full of Beaver and Bison. Canada in the years 1851-present awesome full of culture and and smart people and oil and fish (up untill 1920s) and international importance.
But the main problem is that Canada is generally young country and therefor ecan't really be in Civ4 (Which is weird for me to say considering that I'm currently working on a mod that includes Canada) although if you wanted it you could get an official petition running and get what u want

I propose some of my ideas for them:
UB: CNN Tower (replaces Radio Tower, or whatever it is called in the English version of the game
)UU: Peacekeeper (replaces spy, is able to appease your opponent, even while he's waging war against you)

Something I learned a while back, America wouldn't exist if it weren't for Canada. They'd be dead. Do you realize how much oil Canada ships to the States? Besides, if were so bad, why haven't you attacked? Beats me.
My point, were definitely not America's hat. And even though I voted no, I would say the same thing for America, were modern societies, not ancient civilizations.
You could have used the witty reply that the USA is Canada's Mexico (and the slaves escaping northwards are the illegal immigrants who took your jobs, oh snap!), but you passed up the opportunity...
My point: you shouldn't take everything on these boards so seriously.

My opinion is biased since I'm Canadian. Canada should so be in the game, and the CN tower should be a world wonder in the game. I don't honestly see why anyone would want to keep any nation out. Oh well I guess that's what modding is for!
