I am in Cambridge, ON and I managed to snag a pre-order edition from a local EB Games yesterday (26th) even though I didn't pre-order! Looks like I got lucky. Although my 2nd disk is damaged and I can't get it to install properly, I managed to get it so I can play.

It is amazing. /salt on wounds :cool:

Just called my EB games store in Hamilton,Ontario and the guy said he's not having any luck getting it in today. He called his head office and can't get an answer as to WHY?. might be a good thing for me though....in the Civ IV bugs thread here at CivFanatics..a lot of people with a Radeon ATI Graphic cards can't get the game to run ....... GRRRRRR...I have a Radeon ATI card.....maybe a day or 2 delay in getting the game will allow a patch or fix to the problem......Happy CIV'in

Yeah Karhgath, what puzzles me is the reason why Ontario doesn't have access to the game today and how we could get it (in the Toronto thread, someone mentionned that the truck simply didn't bring the expected delivery this morning).
 
Yeah I know, I'm really worried, but I don't want to call back again, I've been calling a lot... what's worse is that I called 2 other EBG (decarie and place vertu) and they said it was sold out and they wouldn't get anymore today and tomorrow...
 
Well over here in Winnipeg (Central Canada), I called my local EB on Tuesday and they said it should be here Thursday, which seems to be consistant with most others. Will be going there right after work today, whether they call for my pre-order or not, to get some face-to-face info on whats going on.
 
Leaving home in 5 mins to go to EBG to find out what the heck is happening... if everything fails, I still have a backup plan. I WILL play Civ4 tonight
 
I'm in Hamilton Ontario, I called 3 EBs and the EB at Limeridge said that there weren't any there and he called head offices (like Jughead said), Eastgate mall said they have pre-order copies there, and the EB at Centre Mall doesn't have any. Kinda dumb that I pre-order the game and i'm the last out of all my friends to get it!
 
Well, I used to live in Waterloo, but recently moved to Goderich. The only place that'll be selling it here is Walmart, and the few times I have talked to them they were completely clueless. As a result, I ordered it from Future Shop, back in Waterloo, and shipping is free. The first shipping estimate said I should be getting it tomorrow.
 
I'm in Prince Edward Island. Haven't been able to find it ANYWHERE. EB here in Charlottetown is telling me they don't know when it'll be in. When I asked if they even know if it'll be in today, they said they don't know. So, I went to Wal-Mart. They were kind enough to sort through all the boxes of the shipment they recieved today for me, but it wasn't there. Then, Futureshop. They say they have it schedule to be delivered today, but it wasn't in their primary shipment. They then told me it would be in something called a 'drop' shipment, and that that could arrive at any time it wants to.

It doesn't look good.
 
Well I have some good news and bad news for me anyway. I check the EB here in Prince George they had recived their Special Editions but some idiot messed up my pre-order and pre-ordered me a regular edition. they had no extra either and both EB's in town so I got some free stuff out of it. but anyway they told me the regular editions will be in around 1 today so anyone in BC should be able to get one by then.
 
Just came back home with CIV IV in my hands!! Got it in montreal, EBGames downtown Les Ailes, at around 1:25. Tons of people there, and when I got it only 7 copies were left, so it's probably sold out as of now. When I got there they just received the shipments and were calling the people who preordered... when I was waiting in line, the girl had about 6 calls about Civ4.They (only) had the special edition, which is great, didn't expect to get it since I did not preorder. Off to playing now.
 
Karhgath: I'm willing to trade you a normal edition PLUS cash for your Civ4...
 
Just got the phone call from the Market Mall EB Games and my copy of the "Special Edition" is available for pickup:D

Not sure if they have the 'regular' version available but at least the pre-order versions are in.
 
Seriously, if anyone wants to trade their special edition copy for the regular one + cash, PM me ! Okay, enough for the thread crapping... enjoy your game!

I talked to them today too (just about 40 minutes ago actually) and all I can say is your a lucky guy. I didn't pre-order so the clerk told me I was out of luck. Best I can hope for is Friday morning although given that they've pushed it back every day so far I'm not getting my hopes up. The one thing I would say though is I wouldn't dwaddle on the pickup. When I talked to the Lions Gate EB they said they didn't even have enough in to fill their pre-orders. Don't know about Market's supply but if I were you I would get their and grab it ASAP.
 
I think I got the "preordered normal version" issue too. The guy at the EBG first told me they were sold out except for preordered, then when I pulled the receipt told me they hadn't gotten it yet.

If someone could check the SKU (it's just before the product name on the receipt) of the preorder versions VS the normal version, it might be useful to check who else got screwed by Stéphane, Pascal and their friends.

(The sku on my receipt is 2559458)
