What of the family and friends of the person who is executed?
What of the family and friends of the person who is executed?
They don't own the man we executed. Nor does he own them. He pays with his own life.
So the executed persons children, siblings and parents have to suffer for his actions?
Could people please stop the ridiculous implication that if we can't have death sentence, we shouldn't have prison either? Seriously, it's getting very tiring.
"I think the death penalty is a good way to deter crime"
"Then you don't mind if I lethally inject you?"
"But I haven't committed a crime"
"And this is the most fool proof way of assuring that you don't"
It would be tragic if someone we didn't lethally inject went on a crime spree. We know beyond a reasonable doubt that crime sprees will occur if we do not take aggressive preventive measures.Spoken like a true lawyer. In fact, I'm calling you out on that one - you must be fishing for a reaction.

They suffer more if he gets killed rather than if he is merely locked up.For the nth time, the issue isn't that we shouldn't have prison if we don't have the DP, its that that particular argument (That the family suffers for his actions) doesn't hold water, as they "Suffer for his actions" if he gets locked up too.
The same way the perp also suffers if he's locked up. Stop this ridiculous argument already. For the nth time, the issue isn't that we shouldn't have prison if we don't have the DP, its that that particular argument (That the family suffers for his actions) doesn't hold water, as they "Suffer for his actions" if he gets locked up too.
Still firmly upholding your status as one of the most compassionate people I have ever met. Between your ravings and your Confederate flag, you really make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. If other people indirectly get punished for what you do, well, that's life.
(That the family suffers for his actions) doesn't hold water, as they "Suffer for his actions" if he gets locked up too.
At the risk of making a bad inference, you make it sound like those children do not suffer from him being in prison to begin with. GP is allowed 2 visits per month, Seg gets 1 (while annex is allowed visitation every week, it's a different argument because they are all within 3 years of release eligible). When you only get 4-8 hours a month with your child, that child suffers for your actions. I know that that is a far cry from never again, your words seem to state a problem less with criminal punishment and more with crime prevention.
