Capto Iugulum: Empires and Nations

Er... I better just send you the orders and cross my fingers instead of another barrage of questions, right?

Getting orders in on such a schedule would be an ambitious project for me... But I'd be willing to attempt it.

I could try, but I'm worried because I have a Flames of War tournament coming up this Saturday, which means I'm investing a lot of time painting and playing. I can attempt, but if for some reason orders don't make it in, you may have an idea why.

All right, let's give this a shot then. However, if at any point I receive less than 50% of orders/guidelines I will postpone the updating schedule and wing it from there. Otherwise, with these updates, I will work on them as often as possible and early as possible. Therefore, I'll be doing spending orders/outline as soon as your orders are actually in. This way, we can try to get the updates done in a timely manner, perhaps even early in some cases. I understand taht the more time you have, the better, so hopefully, the updates will get done the same date as the deadline. But, remember, this depends on you as much as me. Get orders in before the deadline!

Speaking of which: 22 hour warning

OOC *Ahem why not change to alleviate stagnation?

IC:

From Roman Empire
To Persia, Muscowy, Hungary, Serbia

The Imperator wishes to formailze our national borders and offer assurance between our nations and prevent unwanted conflicts.

Fantastic job getting orders in folks. Consider this the 12 hour warning not until the deadline, but until I say "no more orders will be accepted"

I will accept any general guidelines you'd care to send.

EDIT: I will accept any orders until tomorrow, becuse something has just come up.

TO: Kingdom of Sweden
FROM: Empire of Brazil

It has now been nearly a decade since our last attempt to purchase the Guyana colony from you, and we wish to make an offer on it again.

The Kingdom of Paris will outbid Brazil (out of principle) if Sweden desires to sell Guyana. We heavily disapprove of this anti-colonialism that seems rife in the New World despite currently having no vested interests there.

TO: Paris-Burgundy
FROM: Empire of Brazil

Anti-colonialism has little to do with this acquisition. As a prince of Europe, our Emperor is no lesser than the king in Paris, if slightly more prestigious on the world stage. Anti-Brazilian rhetoric will not be tolerated by a backwater, violent kingdom such as yours, and especially not in the face of peaceful offerings when said kingdoms of Europe constantly espouse war upon their neighbors.

Any obstructionism by the King of Normandy on any issue is liable to be taken as such. If the King of Normandy uses the control of a port to subvert the interests of the Parisian or Burgundian state, this may well be taken as an act of aggression against Paris and Burgundy.

However, the issue's relevance is limited, seeing as Sweden has so far shown no inclination to sell its colony at all. I should further like to point out that Sweden is, of course, free to sell its colonies to whomever it likes whenever it likes, and we could never have any objection to any policy Sweden, as our ally, should ever follow, with regard to selling colonies; but nevertheless, as a matter of principle, we should bid against Brazil if Sweden chose to accept a larger sum from us in preference to a smaller sum from Brazil, and to hell with your absurd treaties and doctrines.

What do we care of the Kingdom of Paris and Burgundy? A Liberal King trying to crush liberal nationalism? That is the best joke told over the banquet table, despite being as old as your kingship of Burgundy, nigh two years already. I have no reason to obstruct any pitiful effort you may take for overseas adventures through our ports. Come right ahead, and let us enjoy our lawful harvest of tolls and tariffs!

No more orders will be accepted beyond this point.

Because of a combination of technical difficulties and RL upsets, I'm rather distracted with the update, though it should arrive Saturday or Sunday. We'll still get two before Skyrim.
