Capto Iugulum

To: Brazil
From: Spain

Spain does not see how appealing to you better nature to stop a foolish and destructive war constitutes a violation of neutrality.

OOC: I love how Italy is pretty much the pre-WW1 Yugoslavia of this timeline; a horrible multiple-way of conflicting parties all of which want to unify the area under their control while dealing with minorities who all hate each other.

Foolish? Sardinia ignores their own actions against Brazil, pretending they never happened. Our people remember. Admiral Buzatto will remind them with a sustained whipping of ass.

To: Franco-Burgundy Confederation, Italian Republic
From: The United Kingdom

Given that we have yet to take any official action against the Treaty's signatories, and are merely expressing our concerns, your objections qualify as nothing more than pedantic squabbling. We have said our part and leave it at that. We will be watching the "League" carefully.

To: Spain
From: The United Kingdom

First of all, our grievance with Sardinia goes back to the first year of the war, when Brazilian warships were barred proper exit from Naples by the Sardinians and promptly fired upon by the same. That is an act of war. We have only just now revisited the issue due to accounts being settled elsewhere. So your interference in the issue does constitute a breach of the Treaty of Madrid and we would advise you to drop it with no more an additional word than a curt and simple apology.

Secondly, as per your own admittance, the last great war was entirely Spain's fault, so we would think twice about pointing a rotten finger at us and proclaiming to be interested in peace and stability when really all you care about is the eternal preservation of your own property.

Thirdly, we do not care to annex, disband, disbar, disrupt, or in any other way infringe upon the territorial integrity of Sardinia proper. We seek reparations for their attack on Brazil and an assurance that it will never happen again.

We repeat: stay out of that which does not concern you, and which you are legally barred from interfering in.

Than we understand your concerns, just don't turn concerns to another great war.

To Britain
From the Confederation

Your concerns have been carefully noted. If in future you view any of our proposed actions as actually amounting to breaches of the Treaty, we will appreciate further notification of this so that we can take heed or dispute the point, and we do not doubt that you will provide us more than willingly with such notification.

The Republic of Argentina will be sending observers to Italy as allow by the Friedman Proposal.

We support Rio de Janeiro as the location of the 1912 Olympics.

Did everyone sign it? You are welcome to send observers if the ceasefires have been signed.

To: Italian Republic
From: Argentina

I don't know if the parties have signed it. If there is a ceasefire, Argentine observers will be there.

The Confederation thinks that what is happening, unless something to the contrary is announced by the conflicting parties, is a ceasefire, seeing as the Pope and the Republicans have not been at war and seeing as the Pope and Naples have reached a ceasefire. Also, as the Pope has not agreed to the Friedman Proposal it will not necessarily be possible to carry out the Friedman Proposal this year.

This is our understanding of the situation as it stands, as non-intervening observers, and we may be mistaken. If we are wrong, we would appreciate being informed as to the truth of the matter, and we expect that all other observers would hope for the same.

So only Naples and the republic signed the friedman proposal? And does that mean we have a ceasefire?

I have no ceasefire with the pope yet. Might soon. Also none with the UK as they never said anything.

Brittany would like to note that the League of Continental Nations is not dedicated to peace. Otherwise, why would they hide what they are doing? Brittany condemns the League of Continental Nations and formally resigns.

If I am correct, it is kept secret as those who are warmongering will not see what we plan to do to restore world peace.

If it is aimed towards world peace, then why are only European Nations invited? That still doesn't explain though why you would hide all the discussions and resolutions from the rest of the world.

It's aimed towards Continental peace, not World peace. Nevertheless, what Portugal says is essentially true, apart from that mistake.

If it is aimed towards world peace, then why are only European Nations invited?

European peace maybe... World peace, no. Any attempts to apply this League's judgments or subsidiary organizations outside the European continent won't be regarded favorably by Argentina.
