After hearing Russia's comments, I am wiilling to have peace with you. Are you willing to negotiate?

OOC: I think somebody should do a Great Powers analysis in the immediate aftermath of the Great War. I'd do it myself, but I have no idea how everything was weighted.

The United Kingdom denounces the Flemish support of Russian aggression and domination. We question whether Flanders is interested in a balanced, sustainable peace, or one in which Russia is the first and final arbiter of all things.

Flanders hopes that the United Kingdom will not pass judgement until this operation is over. We are of course dedicated to a "balanced, sustainable peace," which is the very reason that we joined this operation; so that we may help to oversee the establishment of this equitable peace. We ask that all nations have faith in the judgement of the Flemish government, as they have in the past.

Brazil believes the Flemish government is acting on behalf of Russian imperialism and not on the side of peace. Russia has shown time and time again to be an empire that survives on destroying the rights of man through fear and murder and carrying a big stick. Brazil too denounces the Flemish government as corrupt, a mere avatar of the Russian will on the continent and world propagated through this so called League. Perhaps a Brazilian fleet should be parked off the Flemish coast to guarantee your neutrality?

The Confederation would like to point out that it is not logically possible that Flanders, so long as it is acting for the League, is taking sides in the matter in hand, because the League has not passed any resolution on the subject.

All right, there may be a delay. I've just entered a beta test for a game (and it's my birthday tomorrow!), and well, it's going to be keeping me busy this weekend. Send any questions via PM and I'll answer once I drag myself away.

Brazil believes

Flanders is unconcerned about the opinions and conspiracy theories of a second-tier power halfway across the world. What we are concerned about is the chaos and war that continues to plague the Roman Empire, weakening both its own position and that of Europe. Flanders is not declaring war on any nation, and we feel that our intervention in fact addresses your main concern; the Flemish presence there ensures that this is not a unilateral action and that Russia will be able to consult with the League in order to gain different perspectives on the issue. Flanders is no one's tool; we requested, by our own will and with no coercion, or even any suggestion or request from any nation, to be a part of this operation, so that we might be able to be available to Russia for consultation on Roman matters. This intervention was Flanders' idea and no one else's. Russia has enough troops to intervene on their own; Flemish intervention is not just about sending in our soldiers. No nation is threatened by our intervention, and we feel that there are no possible moral objections. Brazil, as Russia said, may continue their quest for their beloved and esteemed Admiral Buzatto's murderers, but this is the limit of Brazil's concerns regarding the Roman Empire, or Europe at all for that matter.

Flanders is doing very little to assuage the United Kingdom's worries.

lurker's comment: Brazil is way too full of themselves. It's so bad I'm posting as a current outsider to the NES.

We've already established that our involvement in this operation was an idea conceived by the Flemish government and proposed by us to the Russian government. What more could we do to address your concerns? Please note that Flanders continues to see the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland as an great friend and trusted neighbor, regardless of our diplomacy with other nations.

We do not take kindly to your tone in regards to Flanders. That nation has long been established as the most neutral nation in Europe, if not the world. It's independence and neutrality is guaranteed by almost all of Europe. We are certain that if you continue to threaten a nation that poses absolutely no threat to you halfway around the world, we will be able to rally most of Europe to put you back in your place, Treaty of Tuileries be damned.

We see your unprincipled support of the Russian murderers as an action in blatant disrespect of world peace. Their move in Rome is naught more than a power-grab as they seek to place the people of Anatolia, Greece, and the Balkans underneath their yoke.

They have annexed the formerly sovereign nation of Poland in whole - a criminal act if ever there were one - and daily put thousands of Poles to the sword. They have raped and pillaged their way to the border of Brandenburg, they have sacrificed millions of their own men in ravenous expansion, and they have organized the assassination of Admiral Buzatto (by all means an act of war), and they now seek to dig their filthy claws into Asia Minor. And Flanders would seek to appease them at every step. We wonder what Flanders thinks of Russia's irresponsible policy in the mass emigration to Finland-Karelia? Would Flanders as the ostensible archon of neutrality have the Scandinavians turn over their sacred soil to the bloodthirsty Muscovites? We have little doubt that they would, and all in the name of peace everlasting.

It is disgusting, and it is folly. Russia has made their intentions clear and they won't stop until all of Europe is on bended knee before their almighty Emperor.

If you wish to cast down the Treaty of Tuileries and bring war against Brazil, you may as well do the same against the United Kingdom.

And what will your slave armies do against free men? Turn coat we suspect. Flanders has been warned that their neutrality must be kept. Russian annexation of the Roman Empire and peoples therein that wish to remain free and independent is not something Flanders should be jumping to assist.
