BillK, thank you very much for the information, that CCM2.45 even with WinXP on a Intel Core2 Duo dual-core running at 2.4 MHz with 2GB memory is running fine, when played with eight civs on a large map size. This is better than I did expect it! :)

I just realized something: I've been playing scenarios for so long, I'd forgotten about city view! Must have been 10 years ago since I last saw it...

:)... but the city view in CCM2.50 is much better than the city view you have seen about 10 years ago. :D

A strange thing: as I had to do a Windows update I saved my game. After the update I restarted the mod and wanted to load the file "Ruler (Egy.) of the Egyptians, 510 AD.SAV". But I couldn't find it. I tried it again with the same result. Luckily there was an autosave but what is wrong?

Do you save to a folder in PC_user's default documents tree? Or into a subfolder of CIV?

I always save in the folder which CIV III suggest to me, which is:

    C:\Users\A\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\2K Games\Civilzation III Complete\Conquests\Saves

I checked the whole hard disk for todays save but it was nowhere.

Yeah... that's your problem right there. The "virtualstore" folder is basically used by windows either for temporary files, or for saved files from old software that tries to save to a folder that, in Windows 8-10, requires admin rights. So then get saved there. Unfortunatelly, this means that, in updates that change security or privacy, or involve disk maintenance, the files get deleted...

Best practice, with these old softwares, is to either save on a specific folder created in the user\documents that's on the desktop, or create something like c:\games\saves\ folder.

Found bug: game wants the "Zenta Class", but the folder in the art\units was "Zenta". Renamed folder to "Zenta Class", seems to fix it.

jlvfr, thank you very much for reporting that error. :) Both the folder and the INI file inside the Zenta-folder must be renamed to Zenta Class. This will be the first note for a patch. Fortunately the problem only arises, when Austria tries to build that ship, that comes in late era 2. The pediaicon entries for that ship are working well, but the upgrade entry in the civilopedia also needs a correcture.

Edit: After testing it, the simpliest way to fix that error is to do the small change in the pediaicons entry of CCM2.50 shown below. With this small change (only at this place!) the Zenta Class will appear when been built by a civ.

I attache a new pediaicons file, that can be used to replace the actual pediaicons file in the text folder (of the new C3C mainfolder) when such an error should occure, if one don´t want to do this change with a text editor oneself. With this fix no changes in the unit-folder must be done. As I´m sure that more error reports will come, this small error is too less to do a real patch for it.

After several fights a leader appeared. I was amazed that the button (B)uild army appeared. I know there are no armees in CCM. So I was curious what would happen if I clicked that button. But it only made the leader to disappear.....

Civinator has CCM2 set up for a leader to 'upgrade' to an escorted artillery unit. Did a artillery-type of unit appear in that city after the leader was used?

Fun fact: the Wonder "Victorian Era" placed a dockyard in every city... including non-coastal ones! :)

:yup: Yes, this was the only way to set it, but cities without water tiles don´t have any benefit of this addition to their buildings and therefore it works as it should be.

Btw.: jlvfr, I have posted a better fix of the Zenta-error in my reply to your message.

:yup: Thank you very much for reporting that error. The fix is easy. The pediaicons file (that also holds the Zenta fix) attached to this post should replace the old pediaIcons file in the mainfolder. The splash is the same as it is for all supply shipment producing SWs and the entry now is added to that pediaIcons file. With the new file you should be able to continue your game.

I also found some civilopedia entries that are not fitting any longer. The Oracle doesn´t need Incense, The upgrade of the Zenta Clas shows the wrong ship and the entry of the monastery is spoiled. I will do a new civilopedia file soon.
