CFC.com - The MES/NES

@JoanK: it is 1885 and Japan is trying to expand, so yeah.
@Grandkhan: not right now. Might be in the future. Also, would love it if you gave names to the shuttles in the near future, so as to show your bonding with the ship.

"I'm happy to go with the Captain's suggestion. I'm sure my magic abilities can stretch so far as to disguise one or two of our number."

Commissar Hark

"That might work. Perhaps if Worthington, the Hermit, and Jack are versed in some form of disguise sorcery, they may take another three of us down to find the location of the enemy agents.

Once they pinpoint the enemy location, they will transmit this to the shuttle, where we will then swiftly land, kill the enemy agent, destroy their equipment, and then swiftly withdraw.

Speed is key to this operation. We cannot possibly hope to stand against a whole army, primitive as they are, and though I value a glorious death fighting against the enemies of the Emperor, I wish to survive to further his name.

What say you gentlemen to his proposal? Do we have some kind of radio equipment so we can transmit the location?"

OOC: also, we should start putting our character names in bold at the top of IC statements. Makes things much easier.

Honda Takashi
"I am the most fitted for infiltrating the enemy in this case, methinks. It is just my external appearance that could give me off, and magic... it can take care of that. I could pass for an officer, I have lived for seven years in a Japan like this." *loads his gun*

Captain Nicholas

"That is a good thought Comrade. Although, it might be easier if only the Hermit and Jack goes. A smaller group would be more mobile. Although more magicians could possibly give a stronger illusion. What do the others think about this proposal? And does anyone have a radio?"

OOC: Good idea mate.

The Hermit

"In that case, I suggest myself, Jack, Honda and Commissar Hark as the landing party?"

Captain Nicholas:

"That sounds like a good team, comrade. Or maybe we should have seperate teams, in case one fails. Yes, that is a good idea!

Two teams of three and one team of four, with Jade staying behind to pilot the ship. Each team has one magic user and at least one soldier in it. Jade will land each team to the North, South, East or West side of the camp and then we will all explore in those regons. Try and find anyone who you think is a Aceebe agent, the machine or explosives. Once we locate the Machine, we use explosives to blow it up, or if worse comes to worse, the ship to land on it.

As Hark said, we have to do this quickly. We don't know how long the magic will last, that's why I am proposing that Jade will stay in the ship incase we need fast evacuation.

So now we need to sort out details. Who should be on each team? Which team should go for each area? How confident are our magic users? Does our leader know what the Acebee agents or technology would look like? And do we have radios? These are all questions that need to be answered, comrades."

"That's a good question. Your bracelets should be able to detect Acebee technology, but unfortunately there is not too much precision in that, it can only detect them by distance, so you will basically have to go with hot-n-cold to find it. As for the pawns, they will probably wear some kind of system similar to your bracelets, which can be detected. In regards to communication, your bracelets allow you direct communication with the ship and the shuttle: any communication between people can only be handled by patching through either of them, so if you ever find yourselves in a situation in which comm with either doesn't work, then don't count on talking with others.

"Give me a few hours, and I should be able to give you a map of the positions the Japanese are taking. It will take you that much to reach the ground, so do not despair."

I then heard a small bell sounding to my side. I was surprised: never had a MEC team received a high-brass call so soon. I opened connection and saluted the General on the other side of the inter-universe call. After receiving some instructions, he wished the new MEC members luck and cut off the communication.

"Good news, everyone. I have received a call from the MEC commanders, seems they are interested in this mission quite a bit. They have told me that you are, if possible, to try and steal that large scale mind-controlling apparatus. If you can do that, you will get a huge bonus. Also, any other Acebee technology you are able to get your hands on will be well rewarded, and anything else from there you take is yours to sell or use."

Captian Nicholas

"Listen up Comrades! This is the plan! Each team will consist of one magic user who will disguise the team as a Japanse Soldier. Each team will explore one part of the camp, here are the teams:

North: Hark, Hermit, Palaiologos, Blackstone
West: Withington, Morriss, Nerras
South: Jack, Takashi, Strongnovitch

Comrade Jade will drop us off to that side of the camp (North/West/South respectively). Jade will then land Eastwards to the camp, so run that direction if things go South. I mean...you know what I mean.

Anyway, explore as much as you can. Attempt to find the machine that controls people's minds with our bracelets. Also try and find anyone who is wearing bracelets, try and seclude them and intergate them to find where the machine is. After that, knock them unconcious and we will take them abord our ship. If worse comes to worse, we should just kill them.

When we have found the machine, call Jade on the radio. Jade, when you get the signal, fly low towards the base and land near us. It doesn't matter if you crush a few buildings in the process. Anyway, we will load the machine onto our ship and fly away, stopping the war.

If things start to go pear shaped, call Jade on the bracelet and get her to the camp so we can retreat. If we lose contact with Jade for any reason, head East to the shuttle. If things start to go badly, it is unlikely that we will be able to capture the machine, so we should prioritise sabotaging everything, most importatnly the machine. In this scenario, we should kill the Acebee agents as well, if they are still left on this planet then they will just cause chaos everywhere.

Remember comrades, this plan requires everyone to be on their best game. If one of our magic users doesn't say their magic words properly, our disguises go kapoof and we are in a major pickle. So, any questions comrades?"

"For how long will the disguises hold? I could pass as an old high ranking officer, with my skills and cultural knowledge, and the people in my team could pass as aides."

Commissar Hark

A good plan, but one question; what will the other teams do when one of us has found the device? Once we load it up, how will they get back to the shuttle?

"Sounds like a fair plan. For one of the 'magic' users: exactly how long do you expect this disguise to last?" (That question is obviously directed more towards Milarqui)

OOC: I only have three actions, so I will need to wait a turn to land in the East if you want me to hit all three places.

''This is for cowards!'' Christos shouted ''I say that we go with our weapons and kick some ass!''

"And that, my colleague, is why you are not the captain or the second officer, and why you are not allowed to make these decisions."

Jade laughs. "I like his style, though. Get yourselves killed while I watch. Sounds like a blast." *winks*

"Can do, Comrade Strongnovich. This universe doesn't have enough natural magic for me to actually transform you into Japanese people, but I can create an illusion around my team. However, if someone from this universe touches you, the illusion is broken for that person until they stop touching you, so it would be nice if we could get some clothes just in case."

Action: Rally my team around me.
