Pleasant surprise? During the night? In an all-male group!?

Maybe I won't buy that leather armour tommorow :p

:rotfl:

Homosexuality is a broken concept in D&D so no need to worry! :p

By suprise I mean that you are all going to be "gifted" something.

OooOOOooOoOoOoooh! Mystery, Mystery!

IC: I'm thinking we should pool our money, but have it evenly held among us because if one of us gets robbed then we aren't screwed. Now should we only pool the 2000 gold or all our gold?

IC:
Ian:

Very well, I submit to having Glappo as our spokesman... but it is not my fault if he should turn up stabbed half to death one day. Sending an insult comic into negotiations seems akin to sending a bull into a chinashop.

OOC:
Is there any benefit to having a specific type of character hold the gold? Is a thief/mage/dwarf lesslikely to be robbed?

Going for drag instead? :groucho:

IC:
"I vote we appoint Uskar and Kan as keepers of the money. If only one person keeps it, a lucky pickpocket would probably get a heart attack once he realizes how much he 'earned'. Don't want that burden on my conscience.
The best defence against robbers is, of course, to spend the money as soon as possible. That would also keep us motivated to continue our quest..."

Edit:
OOC:
Xpost with Truro and Perf. I don't think any class is better or worse for keeping money. Strong characters might discourage thieves, though.

OOC: hmm... i must admit, with an insult comic as your spokesperson my job just got easier :p

IC:
[Glappo to Ian]
"It's not like I'm going to actively say that I'm an insult comic in tense negotiations and use insults (unless of course it would be advantegous), I may be a funny guy but I'm no fool!"

[to everyone]
"We need a group name too.

I'm still thinking everyone should hold an equal portino of the money, the whole baskets and eggs thing."

OOC: how about the "meddling kids" as your group name?

by the way, sorry for being on your case, but I am evil afterall :p

IC:

:sigh: I am SURE we are going to regret it, but i guess we'll have Glappo as our spokesperson. (to self: i think i'll need to double my prayers tonight, so that we survive for at least a day)

Also, our leader's idea seems better than keeping all the money in one place, and less tedious than the equal share option.

IC:

Ian: I agree that Kan and the dwarf should hold the money. May I suggest we try to limit the amount we carry in the future, a theif is less likely to make of with a new plate of armour than its value in gold.

OOC:

aka, I think we should spend as we get.

OOC: Yes having the money given to a strong character is a good way to discourage thives.

Dwarfs are also known to be good money keepers.

IC

"I believe we should only split the money after seeing what prices this smithy has. We should make sure each of us has at least the minimum of equipment that they need, and then consider splitting it properly."

OOC: Late to the party once again. Am I the only one here who actually works for a living

IC: I'm behind Sigur and Glappo as well, and I think Ian has the right idea on what to do with the gold. Who knows more about preventing theft than a thief?

IC: Well, it really doesn't matter for the night who gets the money, just give it to the damned dwarf and make sure he's not sleeping in the same room as me.

IC:
"Alright, it is agreed then. Oskar and Kan keep half of the money and tomorrow we'll invest most of it into equipment. I reckon, we can leave the question of how to name our group for tomorrow... Unless there is anything else, i'd suggest we retire for the night."

OOC: Good all is set.

Sigur / Till is the party leader

Glappo / Perfection is the spokesperson

as for the money I don't really care who has what... as long as its stated clearely.

The party leader called that the party is now going to sleep.

Do not post anymore, I will update with the begening of Chapter 1 either tonight or Tomorrow. :)

OOC: OOC: No Ummmm........ you are not the only one to have a day job. Im actually at work now. I just have access to internet and Im the manager :D

Baldur's Gate - The Shadow of a Hero
Chapter - 1
The Gods have chosen their heros.

Elminster and William McAle were sucessful in the gathering of the chosen ones. A unlikely group of lonely travellers was united in Beregost. Stripped from their daily lives, they were asked to come to a special meeting.

Elminster, being the spokesman of the gods convinced the group to help the sword coast by defeating the evil that was starting to plague the land. The group was ordered to find out who or what was ordering the evil to strike the sword coast. The heros were faced with little choice. They accepted to put their lives on the line to save the innocent.

The Gods looked upon the land to see who would be better suited to accomplish this task. It was decided that the task required heros with different abilities and strenghts. They also needed to choose the best ones in each fields. Fighters to get through tough physical challenges, a mage to solve elaborate puzzles, a thief to get passed traps, a cleric to keep the contact with the gods and a bard to sing their victory.

Kan' Sharuminar a accomplished ranger, Oskar Ungart a brilliant fighter, Sigur Sigurson a mage with great untapped powers, Ian of Truron a thief with no equal, Nicholas Eymerich a cleric with a special connexion with the outer realms and Glappo the legendary Insult comic were called upon to defeat evil.

They are the best in what they do.

Their faith were sealed. They needed to succeed in their quest to dominate the evil spreading in the sword coast.
They also needed to fight the demons within each of them.

Now that they are all united, they are stronger than ever. With this newfound Strenght the group was to work together in eliminating their first enemy.

They now prepare to face their first challenge. The Gnolls.

The Gnolls are raiding the Naskel mines, they are preventing the blacksmiths of the sword coast from making good quality weapons to fight off evil. They must be stopped at all costs.

Now it all begins.
