The SF three?

Self-praise is no recommendation.

:mischief:

Self Praise? No idea what your talking about..... Nope. Not at all. :whistles::mischief:

Closer to the topic at hand I think the fact that Firaxis and stardock visit this forum is the biggest thing in our favour.

EDIT: Whats this about malware coming from poly?

I essentially agree with John, though I'm more on the "keep it" side.
The article does read like an advert, and do we really need that much info?

Let's be honest, we could effectively cut the article down to a stub, with no real loss of meaning to anyone who found the article;

Do we really need a list of moderators?
A detailed list of the forum structures, the forums themselves?
Such detail on the activities?
Do we really need that much info on NESes? What's written there takes up the majority of the page, is an extremely detailed page for what is effectively a brief overview, and it looks like a collection of links.
Forum Subculture? What causal reader would want to know about Avatar swaps, Mafia, "Warning, user is XXX", GDRs?

90% of the article is effectively crap, and it could be culled to give the 10% that is actually interesting, in line with Wiki policy, and doesn't read like an advert, or a dump of links, reason to stay.

I kind of agree. I think its the excessive text that has attracted the ire of the wikipedia beaurocracy.

As should the SF three. :(
Yes, those lovable, and handsome, rogues, fighting the cruel tyranny of the fascisti, while leading a wave of freedom through the opressed, all while being overpaid, oversexed, and over here :mischief:

No. For some people over at wiki nominating stuff to be deleted is like a hobby. Normally complete pranks, stubs that are about a 13 year old in Belarus who thinks he deserves an article, completely useless inventions that haven't taken hold outisde the inventors house in the three years since it was invented, and other lovely things. But sometimes good stuff, like Gundam and Naruto articles will get nominated because they need to meet their daily quota.;)

@nc:  Yes. Handsome indeed  Wait, you got money for that? I got nothing!!! You get a book deal or something?

I think the stuff in the article is only serving to giver the fence-sitters reason to vote for deletion.
Get rid of all the nesing stuff, the mods, the "subculture" and all, and they'll have no reason to delete it.

Ok the mods and forum rules I can see but the sub culutre is also in other forum artilces that have stayed. Look at gaia(the biggest BB, an RPG of course :ack: ), it's got a section devoted to the enviroment of the fictional world on which the RPG is set on.:twitch:

50-50 share of the profits and you don't hear from my lawyers and I leave TLC out of the loop.;)

i deleted some crap and made a few changes, hopefully this will help keep the article alive. i don't much about NES, so somebody who does, could you please cull back the section on NES to something more reasonable?

There is no need to list the moderators in there.

I agree the section on NES is way too long... I would say cut it down to a paragraph or two, so it's about the same length as the descriptions for GOTM, DG, or HOF.

Also, it would be a good idea to say a few things about the highly active modding community here.

I've made some major cuts, if people thing they are too extreme then they can be reverted from the page history. I got rid of the forum subculture section (didn't really seem relevant), the moderator list (didn't seem needed) and made some minor edits to the rest of the page. NESing still needs to be trimmed considerably, but I left that to a NESer.

Don't.
If my knowledge of Nesers is correct, they'll only add to it ;)

i deleted a big chunk from the NES section, now it's about comparable to the length of GOTM, HOF, and DG sections. i also think we should put the forum subculture back up, there was some interesting stuff in there. i just don't know how to bring it back after being deleted (maybe someone who is more wiki literate than me could do so).

Do we have to bring back subculture? Maybe we should have a vote.

Could we at least bring back something about the Giant Radioactive Monkey?

Does anybody outside of CFC care about that stuff? I doubt it.

P.S. If articles about other sites have cruft, and the CFC article doesn't, the solution is to eliminate the cruft from those articles.

Edit: Any mods specifically created here that have been mentioned somewhere else would be good.

If your going to list mods I would HIGHLY suggest that the list be as short as possible.ex, DYP/RAR, AOI, TCW, etc

Personaly, we can do without listing the subculture of this forum.

The mods section needs to be slightly less ad-like.
