Its good to see that there is a movement to get CFCwiki out of the delete list. Its only fair that if Apolyton has one that we should have one as well.

The Wiki page for CFC is being considered for deletion.

ATTENTION!

If you came here because somebody asked you to, or you read a message on a forum, please note that this is not a ballot, but rather a discussion to establish a consensus amongst Wikipedia editors on whether an article is suitable for this encyclopedia. We have policies and guidelines to help us decide this, and deletion decisions are made on the merits of the arguments, not by counting heads (or socks).

You can participate and give your opinion. Please sign your posts on this page by adding ~~~~ at the end.

Bold by me.

Anyone who disagrees with the page being deleted may wish to post on the discussion page the reason why they feel the page is worthy to stay.

It doesnt really matter. Civ fanatics near the top of the list for google searches for civ stuff.

Wiki strongly discourages campaigning to keep pages afloat. A large number of "Keep" votes from accounts registered only to vote will have, at best, no effect, and at worst, a negative one. They're already complaining about that effect over there.

That said, those who have a fair number of unrelated WP contributions should vote if they want to, using that site's policies to back up their opinions.

For the record, I support the deletion of the page. See my comments if you wish to know why.

Comment - I see why it's called the "Fanatics" center now.... ;) --- RockMFR 03:34, 31 October 2006 (UTC)

Damn straight.

You actually made a good point, I learned of CFC from Google, not a Wiki article. :)

I guess what I found offensive was that every car, toy, stupid TV show and terrible pop song has endless wiki pages on pathetic unused websites while in contrast this site is so alive and is a repository of useful game info, downloads and mods, yet this site deserves its Wiki page deleted. :crazyeye:

How about only delete the stuff they considered to be "promotional" and keep the rest. That's fair. Everyone wins.

That would be too easy and logical.

Its only fair that if they allow Apoloyton and 2chan, and other websites to have their articles that they should allow CFC to have an article.

What a joke! why should the bother deleting us?

I've wrote the first one! I've also added a section with info for the mods, which is edited right now (and it looks really cool!)

I essentially agree with John, though I'm more on the "keep it" side.
The article does read like an advert, and do we really need that much info?

Let's be honest, we could effectively cut the article down to a stub, with no real loss of meaning to anyone who found the article;

Do we really need a list of moderators?
A detailed list of the forum structures, the forums themselves?
Such detail on the activities?
Do we really need that much info on NESes? What's written there takes up the majority of the page, is an extremely detailed page for what is effectively a brief overview, and it looks like a collection of links.
Forum Subculture? What causal reader would want to know about Avatar swaps, Mafia, "Warning, user is XXX", GDRs?

90% of the article is effectively crap, and it could be culled to give the 10% that is actually interesting, in line with Wiki policy, and doesn't read like an advert, or a dump of links, reason to stay.
