CFC Memes

Anyway: 'wrestling action figures' used to be one, but it's gone away now.

Was it? Because I pulled that out of my ass and saw it once or twice more, but I didn't think it went far. (Which is good, because it was kind of stupid.)

And also there's Lucy Duke and her dogs.

Me? And my dogs?

If I've got claim to anything, it's "See, that.", which I only see ecofarm still using.

Also. Catharsis. You sound like :old:. Get with the times, grandpa. ;)

(Pretend that that winking smiley is actually winking.)

When did radioactive monkey start? Wasnt that all the way back in 01?

That doesn't matter, though.

The word 'awesome' used to be a fine word, used only to describe the truly awe-inspiring, and then the youth, and later the Internet, got hold of it, and now it's a stupid word. 'Meme', from your definition which is news to me, seems like it was a pretty stupid word when Dawkins coined it, and now it's even stupider, Greek derivations or no.

I tend to agree with you about cheapening the word awesome. Teenagers also ruined the word radical. I'm not sure the internet's use of the word meme, but it's a great word to have when sociological discussions come up. By great, I mean 'absolutely necessary'.

@Harbringer: All I remember was that it was some poll, which I think was about Presidents. The guy stuck RM in their, and it utterly derailed the conversation. Before my time.

Edit: The meme was started by "MrPresident" back in December 2002. First used here, and first used in a poll a few days by the same person here and it was a thread on the constitution, not presidents. But that was the guy's name, so close enough!

Threads about Central and Eastern Europe?

There are those "Turkey-is-not-European" threads. When someone insists that Tureky should be in the EU, I await Winner's artillery shells

How could you have forgotten this already?

With this quote I'm contributing to this meme.

Um, how has only one person mentioned Giant Radioactive Monkeys? It was probably one of the only ones that was really universal around here.

You guys don't know what a meme is, do you? Noncon was right: if it's planned or self-aware, it's NOT a meme.

IMO the best was Red Stranger, but probably the most prevalent, after the Radioactive Monkey Option, is the Commie#5422 one (rasist). I know I tend to do it almost subconsciously. Equatism is up-and-coming, though, which really pisses me off because I HATE that term.

Ooooh! In the Soviet Union, <insert subject> <insert action> you!

It doesn't sound cooler for me cause I read it pronounced "me - me". I'm glad to learn it is pronounced "mem", but I may never be able to change it in my head. Everytime I see the word, I hear that fat comedian say "Mimi". :/
