CFC Minecraft Server -- World 5

I've also read that using the furnace during the day can crash the game. Not sure if that affects MP servers.

Hey Matt, there's something I built behind my house that I think you'd like. :D Catch me online some time!

With 1.8 coming soon this week I added an in game non-binding poll on the fate of gargamel. If you have no opinion on the matter then no need to vote :)

The options are:
1) Delete non town chunks and smooth edges with new 1.8 terrain. The original idea is possible again with a program called MCEdit.
2) Gargamel stays as is on a separate, but connected world with linked market and inventory.
3) Gargamel is converted to a creative world with linked chat and connecting portals, but obviously independent inventories and markets.

Vote in game using the command: /poll vote 1 #, where # is the option you want to vote for, for example /poll vote 1 3 if you want gargamel as a separate creative world.

Option 2 can remain within the same server program (so like a pyramid world) or as separate server programs linked with portals. While option 3 can probably be done on the same server program, I would prefer it as a separate server program linked by portal. Running it as a separate program means I'm going to need to promote someone to system administrator to run the gargamel server. I will provide training if this is the case.

I prefer option 1. Gargemel is a very developed map, people have a lot invested in it, and i'd like to keep using what i've made here, but still have 1.8 terrain. Those who want to leave their current towns would be able to do so, and found a new one in the newly generated terrain. While those still attached to their current towns could stay. This seems, to me, to be the best option, as you please those who wish to keep gargamel, and those who want 1.8 generated terrain and newness.

[/2 cents]

I support option 2 or 3, as it keeps Gargamel for those who want it, and lets us who want a new world play in a new world.

Furlax has just logged in on the server, and I plan to, but we can't seem to break anything. Is there protection on, or mods?

Reminder, server is staying 1.7.3 until bukkit and important plugins are updated.

Edit: I somewhat lied about the poll, I forgot 1.9 will need another world refresh. I'm going to take the poll results into consideration for 1.9. Until then I am making a world for 1.8, pvp centric. Towny's war mechanics is broken so here are my thoughts:

Is the :25569 server a 1.8 server atm?

I think Factions looks awesome, especially as it works without iConomy.

More or less

The 1.8 server up now is the preview build, I'm taking it down.

Bukkit finished deobuscating the code a while ago. They are now working on specific issues with the new terrain generator.

Both are offline. Currently bukkit has a nasty bug of being unable to walk through open doors.

Testrun with the dev build of 1.8.1 have been ok so far. Bugs of note:

Chests are black, they have to be opened and closed for the graphics to work

Doors/trapdoors have to be closed and opened to work.

Permissions is not working. No one can do anything
