*NOTE* Games this week are being played on Saturday instead of Sunday. Repeat: NO GAMES ON SUNDAY THIS WEEK

Not to be a nitpick, but Broncos/Chiefs and Steelers/Ravens are actually on Sunday. There is no way the networks and NFL would let a little thing like Christmas stand in the way of their profitssssss.

I'm boycotting watching those games. Three games on Thanksgiving is pushing it frankly... one game is tradition, and awesome. Two games, fine whatever, but three? Geez. But two games on Christmas?!? Bite me NFL. I got a cable subscription to watch the election coverage on the national networks, and I have been too lazy to cancel it... I am literally calling Comcast right now to cancel it and I'm telling them its in protest of the Christmas day football games. Thanks for reminding me Tim.

Thanks for the update Owen :)

Maybe we should send a blast PM out to people so they remember about Saturday games? I know we can say it's their responsibility but this is for fun. If you don't have time I can do it.

Also I don't mean this mean at all but sometimes I see cake make...odd assertions in the actual NFL discussion thread(s) and then he is just a goddamn savant who destroys all of us when it comes to making the game picks.

Yer welcome.

Aren't the Detroit and Dallas Thanksgiving games equally 'traditional'? They've both gone on as long as I can remember.

If there are any regulars missing we should PM them, and if you have time I think you should just do it. Owen does more than enough for us.

Yes I think your right absoloument about that.

EDIT: Which now that you mention it, is directly related to our discussion in the other thread ;)

It's no biggie. I can take care of it if. There's only 7 regulars at this point, not including myself, and all but one of them have already made their picks.

Also I don't mean this mean at all but sometimes I see cake make...odd assertions in the actual NFL discussion thread(s) and then he is just a goddamn savant who destroys all of us when it comes to making the game picks.

Haha yep! And we're really at a point now where I don't think you could get away with calling his success a fluke. The dude's clearly seeing something the rest of us aren't. The first two years of this league I took my picks very seriously. I'd spend a couple hours meticulously going through stats on FootballOutsiders, checking analysis and spreads from fivethirtyeight and advancednflstats, researching individual matchups, etc. After cake's success last year I decided to do the exact opposite; not really think too hard about the picks I was making and just go with my gut. That I'm actually doing better this year than I was in either of the previous two years is, I think, telling.

Also I didn't mention it in the update, but props to KMRblue and Timsup for their really stellar performances over the past 5 weeks. They went, respectively (30-12-21) and (29-13-21) over that period, for PPWs of 18.28 and 18.03, and it's unfortunate that I wasn't able to highlight that in the time I wasn't doing updates.

It's frightening that this far into the weekend the only thing I've gotten right was picking the Browns to win.

Week 16 Overall Standings.png

It's neck-and-neck going into the final week of regular play. On the topic of regular season, last year a number of you were disappointed that we weren't continuing through the playoffs. So: do you want to keep going through the playoffs? And if so, do you want me to reset the scores and just do a "playoffs pick-em", or do you want me to do it as a continuation of the regular pick'em season?

Option three, playoff games count double.
