Wow... I'm actually offended by that characterisation, considering that the system was the dominant system historically because of the difference between timekeeping during day and night, with the names and the current style system being Roman in origin.

The unit and term "mile" is also roman in origin. That does not stop it of being slightly awkward because it does not related well to other units of length in use. Nonetheless, a large part of the Anglo-Saxon world still insists on using it.

It's the use of Anglo-Saxon here that's getting offensive actually...
Firstly, I come from a country that does not, and has not used the term mile for a long time and secondly, to characterise those countries as "Anglo-Saxon" is extremely offensive to all concerned.
The use of 'am' and 'pm' is also very common in many countries and regions, and is not limited to nations that you characteristics as "Anglo-Saxon".
To be perfectly honest, I think your characterisations are vaguely racist.
I'm pretty sure he is right, at least there is real good chance for an announcement this week
The doubled offer of -75% price for all Civilization games on Steam (first for 24 hours, then extended for another 24 hours), Civ V Gold Edition in particular must have meant something
That supposed "watch on March 7th" leak seems odd to me. The person created an account just to say that. Why?
Trolling? - It's certainly possible, but I doubt there will be a whole lot of whining about him being wrong. There are certainly better ways to generate forum rage.
Accolades? - The person wants to be praised for being right. But then why create a throw-away account?
Annoy 2K? - A simple watch message is too innocent to bother them. Maybe if the person threw in some kind of proof it would actually bug them.
Intentional leak? - The account is a throw-away because the person works for 2k and wants to bump up the buzz a small amount but not make an official announcement? That seems rather superfluous to me.
Conclusion: I don't know what to make of it. It's a weak effort for whatever the person is trying to accomplish. A total lack of supporting evidence, even fabricated evidence, ruins all credibility, and thus diminishes the effort. And if it's 2K trying to tease up some interest, it's an ineffective way to do it.
