Good, they deserve a break!
But nothing was said about a victory condition livestream or shadow drop of the complete Civilopedia. There’s still hope.As expected, no FLs or guides next week.
They only give Ed builds with the Civilopedia disabled now.But nothing was said about a victory condition livestream or shadow drop of the complete Civilopedia. There’s still hope.

Blergh. I dislike the secrecy of it all. It's not like knowing Ben Franklin, Himiko and Napoleon were in the game for ages damped expectations. They only give Ed builds with the Civilopedia disabled now.![]()
To be clear, that was a joke; I think Ed opening the Civilopedia was a planned leak (one notes his little smirk when he did it). But yes, I've never liked surprises and wouldn't mind a full reveal myself--though, on the other hand, speculation is also fun. But I think our speculation has kind of run dry, and we're chasing our tails at this point. I miss the ferret poster.Blergh. I dislike the secrecy of it all. Better to just spoil it all weeks in advance.
...Have we considered one of the unknown leaders might be Tamar of Georgia?
Epic!...Have we considered one of the unknown leaders might be Tamar of Georgia?![]()
Noooo, they gotta work 100 hours a week, every week, until release!!!Good, they deserve a break!
While I would personally prefer too, I think it overall works better for them this way, as it keeps people engaged and hyped on the game. While a full early reveal would result in a peak of lot of discussion and then slowly fading as people take their attention away from it.Blergh. I dislike the secrecy of it all. They only seem to be going for leaders from Mid-Atlantic states.Have we considered one of the unknown leaders might be Tamar of Georgia?![]()

It looks like we could be getting Natural Wonders videos. My new copium is that to keep the marketing cadence going, this week is the week the press are allowed to release another round of previews about the full build of the game (with requisite limitations in place for discussion about unrevealed civs/leaders/victories)
Moysturfurmer's theory is that they are farming out the marketing to Streamers, thus giving the 2K marketeers a break. But I doubt that's the case. And we just got a short for Redwood Forest, so they may be auto-releasing Natural Wonders videos over the course of the holidays. If they were going to release something this coming week, why would they make an announcement saying that they aren't going to?
Quill18 actually did some videos about a month after Civ 6 was announced, just after the E3 gameplay reveal. The streamer involvement is very different this time.Feels like they're keeping Civ7 closer to their chest than Civ6; I definitely feel like we'd gotten a couple previews of Civ6 from YouTubers by 47 days before release. I remember it was the first time I watched quill18.
Che Guevara will most likely never appear in a Civilization game. It still is a very recent and very controversial figure. He caused the direct and indirect death of lots of people in very recent times and there's still people around who had to suffer from his policies/terrorist actions.I actually agree about Shaka! We're missing a Mil/Exp leader, and he could fit that bill. I do not see Shaka as a persona leader though.
I think the final male leader is either from Asia (a Mughal or Siamese leader? Akbar is a great choice for a Persona leader) or from South America (Bolivar? Che Guevara?)
I assume with the modern livestream wrapped up, I'm sure we'll see an embargo lifted for hands-on previews from major Civ youtubers like Ursa, Spiff, etc. in January, would make the most sense.Quill18 actually did some videos about a month after Civ 6 was announced, just after the E3 gameplay reveal. I wonder if 7 is so ambitious in it's changes if it will done in time for Feb 6th.I assume with the modern livestream wrapped up, I'm sure we'll see an embargo lifted for hands-on previews from major Civ youtubers like Ursa, Spiff, etc. in January, would make the most sense.
I’m sure it’s “done”.The marketing is not aimed at civ fanatics, it's aimed a people who are not already paying attention.
