Civ4 BTS v3.19 Patch

Is it worth backing up some of the BTS game files (and if so, which ones) before applying the patch, just in case something goes wrong, or I find the lack of overflow gold too annoying, or I want to play a game that someone has posted with 3.17?

You can make a copy of the entire Beyond the Sword folder (the one with the EXE in it) and swap it back and forth to play either version. Only you can answer the question of if it's worth it.

I've just patched up to 3.19 and have had the TXT bug again,

i know this has been fixed before but i can't remember how.

any ideas

I had gotten that too, when I patched. I believe in my case (not 100% sure) that it was caused by having my Windows codepage language set to English (Canadian) instead of English (US).

I believe some of the old threads dealing with it, some of the causes were if you had an English version of Windows but set your language to something else. I don't recall offhand what the specific fix was in those cases. I'd try something like:

I cant install, it goes Not Responding after the install button. Any idea why?

My Idea would be, what is your operating system, what CIV version do you have. It's possible you are running Vista, and not launching the patch with admin rights.

I have Xp, and currently have the Civ4 Beyond the sword version 3.17.

I've been playing this game for years, that's so strange because I never grow tired of it. offcourse these updates and modpacks are a great comfort for fans all around the world. greetings

Ok, i finally got this installed, but now when i go to game and look what version i have, it show that i still have 3.17, and when i push update button it says that there is new version avaible.

And now if i try to install this patch again, it just says something about uninstaling the game.

So this is . .. .. .. .ing wierd.

Omg this new patch is making me crazy, i had fresh install, Civ4, Warlords and BtS. And now i try to patch BtS, patch says thath i dont have BtS installed. I try all BtS patches. And now even the 3.17 didnt work anymore. Earlier it worked.

I read this whole topic and seems some other had same kind of issues.
So any help!?!?!?!

Can you elaborate a little more on why the patch installer is not working? What do you mean when it says Not Responding after hitting the install button? Is it locking up and you are having to manually terminate using the windows task manager?

Obviously if it's locking up or whatever you can't expect that actual 3.19 patch to be installed.

If you haven't already done so, download the 3.19 patch from this website (link is on the first page of this thread I think). Don't use the ingame updater, and I wouldn't trust its check for updates function either.

Anymore the 3.19 patch doesnt go Not Responding, now when pressing install, nothing happens. And now i cant install any of patches.

I have a question, if I want to download 3.19, do I need to have 3.17 installed, or can I go straight to 3.19?

Nope just go right to 3.19, now I am just waiting for some mods to update

Second time today, i uninstalled Civ4, Warlords, BtS, and installed it again. Everything goes fine, untill trying to install this or any patch to BtS, Civ4 and warlords patches just fine.

I think i'm having a very similar problem that others are experiencing. I've got a D2D digital copy of bts, and for some reason when i try to install the Digital distribution patch of 3.19 to my bts, the installer seems to just crash after i hit the install button in the final steps of the process. The crash is weird though, because its not a lock up, or something i have to manually close. Rather, the installer just disappears, and is no longer running. It looks to be some sort of issues with this 3.19 patch?

Any one found any solutions to this issue as of yet?

I've tried full clean installs, and i am still having this issue.

Same issue as Mali0105. Also a D2D download for the full Civ4, Warlords, and Beyond the sword on Win7.

Install the game's. Works great. However patch comes out.... Cant seem to get it to patch at all. Loads the Language box, starts the installer, few more pages of next, last one is Click next to install. And drop to desktop....

Wow that was fast... Guess back to multiplayer conquest =>Low and behold still need to update to new patch to play online.

Tried Admin Privs, Various compats for both game installs, and patches. Yet to find one to work.

Hopefully somebody has experienced this and found a work around.

These are only suggestions and I'm not sure if they will work.

Perhaps try not installing Warlords in between. I recently did a full re-install by removing everything and then installing Civ4 (with no patches) followed by BtS and then the 3.19 patch from CFC.

But I'm at a loss here - you might need to get some help from the Technical Support forum.

YEEAAAH!!!

I got the problem solved, so i download torrent Civ4, Warlords and BtS, and that version i could update to 3.19.

So the problem was in my cd versions i think, seems weird that i have to download illegal torrents to have game to work, what i have bought. Well, main thing that i can play now.

I don't think you need the disk for complete even withought 3.19. The non-complete version does not make it so that vanilla and Warlords can bu used without the CD, only BtS.

can you download the patch without having a cd? like a downloaded version from the internet instead of a cd
