Civ4 BTS v3.19 Patch

A small question and not entirely 'on-topic', sorry, but if I have to do a complete clean install of ++, do I only need this patch, to get to the latest version? or do I first need to install and update , then install and update, and finally install followed by this update?

if all goes well you need only this - however I would at least patch Vanilla to 1.61 before installing warlords and Bts

From the MAIN MENU, select ADVANCED then ABOUT THIS BUILD. The version is displayed without periods as 317 or 319.

Just double-click the application (EXE) after unzipping it wherever you like.

Firaxis releases the official patches. In those patches they sometimes introduce new bugs (software is difficult to perfect), so the community coders work collectively to fix these bugs and release an unofficial patch. It's unofficial because it is not official--not from Firaxis. The unofficial patches always require that you first install the official patch on which they are based.

While many people discuss and submit bug fixes, there is typically a single maintainer responsible for packaging and releasing unofficial patch versions. Past maintainers have included Bhruic (3.13), Solver (3.17), Dresden (3.17), and jdog5000 (3.19). Coding is fun; packaging software is never fun, so these guys deserve our thanks many times over.

A round of thanks for our coders! How do I install the unofficial patch? Is it like a mod or does it work right away without going to a mod folder/desktop icon?

I have tried to install the new patch both online and manually but it never installs.
Can anyone help? I am running win xp sp3.

Manually, I double clicked the file after downloading it and followed the instructions it stopped as soon as it was to install.
It did the same thing online.
I do not have BTS as a stand alone if that helps.

What exactly does that mean? Do you have the BTS expansion and is it installed? Launch the game and click ADVANCED and then ABOUT THIS BUILD and post a screenshot of what it says.

Yes I have BTS and it is installed. It is version 3.17. What I meant was that I have Civ 4 with all exspansions.

The expansions don't run on their own anyway, so saying that you have BTS as a stand-alone game wouldn't really make sense.
