Civ4 Plugins for 3dsmax 6 and 7 now available for download

Yeah, thats why I said I wasnt sure. I was just stating what I was sure about though.
 
Is there no way to import models from Civ4 into 3D studio? Like for example the terrain meshes? (Although seems like most terrain are heightmaps?)

Nothing I know of. I think that the holy grail right now, if you could import units and animations life would be good!
 
Ok, this is sort of a mad question but is it possible to transfer gmax models in to 3ds max?
I know it sounds stupid, but otherwse I'll never be able to make a model for my "brick of doom". If this question is to ignorant just don't answer it. :crazyeye:
 
Hi, I am trying to get this plugin to work for 3ds max 7, i am completely lost!

I extract all the files to "C:\3dsmax7" (without the quotes of course) but still it doesnt work.....

I get this error message:

i downloaded and unzipped the max 6 plugins directly into my
3dsmax6 directory. when i start max6 it says...error loading "Civi4".dlu,
specified module not found.
anyone know what i should do?

Has anyone actually got this to properly work, I mean ive tried it with Max 7 and my friend tried it with his max 6 and it doesnt work with either...... any ideas?
 
why Firaxis dont send a Models for 3dMax...this is very loser... his put a SDK with all codes and dont free a Animations...
 
@Petrovski, CATMANEXE: This is strange, I never encountered such error, let alone heard about it :confused:, but it looks as though there's something wrong with the plugin file. It's possible that something may have gone wrong during the download, have you tried downloading it again? And yes I did get it to work.

I got it to work. I copied all the contents of each subfolder into its corresponding subfolder. Example Scripts contents into c:\3dsmax\scripts
Do that for each subfolder. Files not in a folder just drag and drop. Note some subfolders have there own subfolders. You can only export models into Nif and kf format. You will be unable to import images from Civ4. Use blender 2.4.1 with the nif plugin to view images for civ4.

Edit: Damn.. I just found out that this exporter doesnt got collision detection..
And there are no other NIF-exporter working with 3dsmax 7+.. :(
 
Are the trial-links expired now with 3D Max 8 out? They didn't work work for me. Neither get a file from there nor a torrent. Or am I doing something wrong?

If they're expired. Will the scripts run on version 8? The only trial you can get from the developers site directly it seems. But I rather prefer another link. Cause they blackmail to spam me with advertisments if I dl there.:(

Ok I have downloaded this as well and I am uncertain about something.

I'd like to resave th mod_eu.nif as fut_eu.nif but have it point to a new texture called eu_fut_building.dds

At the momment it is still seeing the original mod_eu_building.dds and well I don't want it using that texture.

I was hoping to make this so I can have a different texture for a future era but use the 3d building models from the modern era.

If it is possible to do what I am suggesting, can anyone help me do this?
