I am unable to use these parts via IE on my desktop today, as they continually spam new instances of IE windows (blank ones). Seems ok on safari. I suspect a broken advertising popup. Anyone else having issues?

the only use for IE is to Download either Safari, Chrome or Firefox :P

1. This is a known issue, several people, including site moderators have been complaining about it in the Site Feedback forums. Ainwood said he'd take it up with the hosters of CFC.

2. I wouldn't know how bad it is because I use Firefox with adblock, so that may be a temporary (or permanent) solution for those having problems.

Yeah its the ads here, plus NOW there are sounds with the darn ads, that really tee me off. Also i use Webroot for a virus scanner and it has been monitoring lots and lots of pop-up ads as maliware is why there are all those extra ones getting thru.

Here is one of those such VIOLATORs: Do NOT click on it.

Post this here so that Ainwood and the forum moderators can see what specific culprits are at work here and complain to the CFC hosts about it.

Just got on and Flash Player wanted me to update Immediately. I closed it instead. I'm on Chrome.

I use Firefox with addons Adblock, Ghostery and NoScript. Works very well.

Btw for even more privacy, there is a firefox version for TOR project, although its rather slowly loading pages due to the rerouting, nevertheless using forums with is not problematic as they dont tend to have to load much more than text and thumbnails (if you avoid the ad spam)

TOR won't help against any malware-infected ads though. It won't stop it from showing the ad. Adblock + Noscript seems to do a fine job, since unless the ad comes directly from civfanatics.com, any JS code will not be executed unless you specifically say so.
There's a similar extension for Chrome, I advise anybody to get these kind of addons.

I haven't got any add's that doesn't confine them selfs to the Top and bottom to the page using Chrome and nothing special

Also CFC is pretty slow today

The forum went down for me (constant 404 errors) for a half hour or so. I think that they are experiencing problems with this stuff (which is probably malware on CFC servers).
